4.5 stars! Property is older but extremely well maintained. The corner western/Japanese rooms are spacious with two western beds and tatami area, single japanese bath and shower area and separate toilet area, mini fridge, tv, sitting area overlooking the river and table with four chairs as well as a massage chair! Onsen area has both indoor and outdoor areas separate for men and women and a cold plunge as well as multiple hot baths. Minus half a star for low staffing in the store/cafe areas (often no staff member to be found when kakigori desired), no in house lunch option and overly fatty meat on the 3rd night dinner (breakfast and dinner were LARGE and BEAUTIFUL but perhaps heavy on the yuba. Also, shuttle to the train station is only at 10 and 11am and getting cabs is difficult. However, would overwhelmingly recommend Nikko Senhime Monogatari!
This hotel is super convenient! It's just a short walk from Sano Shintoshi Bus Terminal, and Sano Premium Outlets is also within walking distance. Plus, there's a convenience store nearby.
The public bath was a nice touch, and it wasn't too crowded, so I was able to really relax. I especially loved the herbal scent of the shampoo, conditioner, and body soap.
I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance!
The room is spacious, living up to the 22 square meter description. The view from the hotel window is beautiful, overlooking fields. The room is quiet, ensuring a good rest. Free access to the hot springs is also available. This hotel is easy to find in this small town; it's a landmark building and highly recommended.
This hotel was about 30 minutes drive from Nasu Animal Kingdom and was on the mountain road.
There are no convenience stores or supermarkets near the hotel, so I think it is better to buy beverages brought in at convenience stores found early.
The room was very clean and the staff 々 was kind, polite, kind and happy.
Thank you.
What impressed me especially was that the full course of dinner was very delicious, and the beautiful golf course spreading from the window while eating made me have a calm time. I was able to eat slowly in a quiet place, probably because there were many calm adults in the customer base. Breakfast was also very delicious in a buffet style where you can choose fresh vegetables, rice, bread, side dishes, etc.
The hot spring on the 2nd floor is a cold mineral spring, and it is called a hot spring of beautiful skin, so my skin became smooth and smooth ♪ I went twice at night and in the morning, but I was able to relax so that I could sigh.
There was also a fitness room and an esthetic salon on the second floor.
Also, the drinks to drink while watching the stars on the veranda of the room at night were the best and comfortable time
The room feels a bit old, but it was very large, and the towels and roomware were clean and cozy.
The bed was a little hard and I could sleep just right.
The air conditioner can be adjusted in the room and there is also an air cleaner.
However, there is no outlet near the bed and it seems that the mobile phone cannot be charged at the bedside. Maybe it was somewhere?
I thought again that I was glad to choose this place because it was better than I imagined in everything.
I would like to use it when I come to Nasu again ♪
The hotel has an antique charm, reminiscent of an old luxury hotel, and is quite clean and tidy. The only minor issues were the metal room doors, which caused static electricity in winter, and the lake view being a bit obscured by trees, which was a shame. The Japanese breakfast was incredibly rich and exquisite, definitely worth the extra cost.
The hotel has to enter at 3 pm, the previous time has to be sorted out, and only 3 o'clock has been checked in before. It was the first time I encountered an early arrival and couldn't enter the hotel! There are not many service staff, maybe too busy. But the room was not bad, dinner was also delivered to the room, there was a Chinese girl serving us, such a remote place and Chinese waiters were rare. There is a buffet bar in the lobby, and drinks can be used at will.
The hotel is very close to the attractions, there are private hot springs for hot springs, the staff are also very good, the rooms are very clean and comfortable to live, far from Nikko Station, it takes more than half an hour to walk, you have to take a car, but the environment is good, if I will stay again next time I have a chance,
Really enjoyed my stay, lots of locals come here. Outdoor onsen was good, buffet food was decent too (favourite was the beef!). Extra points for the massage chair which was really a good relieve after a long day. Only drawback is pillow was too small and too soft which gave me neck aches the next morning. Location a little far out from town, would need a car to get here for convenience. But overall a great stay and will come recommend!
If you are looking for a hotel close to the train station then this is a good choice. If you get the room with two beds then it is a pretty good size room, otherwise they are very small rooms. The beds are quite comfortable and the breakfast is adequate.
Environment: It's about a 10-minute walk from Kinugawa Station. There's a small hill where pushing luggage can be a bit difficult; you can contact the hotel for a shuttle service. Unlike most Kinugawa onsen ryokans, it's not located right on the river, which is a bit of a shame.
Cleanliness: Excellent.
Facilities: First, the large public baths have alternating men's and women's baths, each with its own unique features. There are sleeping baths, cream baths, and saunas. The overall design is very reasonable and simple. The rooms are large, easily accommodating at least four people, and include both Western-style beds and Japanese-style tatami mats. The rooms are large and quite new, without the usual musty smell of older hotels. The window view is just average, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Dining: We had two meals during our stay. Dinner and breakfast were both deluxe kaiseki cuisine, which was delicious and photogenic—five-star quality. It ranks among the top three kaiseki meals we've had at onsen.
Service: Excellent. The Vietnamese lady who greeted us spoke Mandarin, and the restaurant manager, a lady from Guangdong, explained the dishes in great detail. Overall, the service was excellent.

Very Good
SSteve SiauwOne of the worst locations at Kinugawa Onsen area. Hidden in the mountain, no significantly beautiful view. Despite we need to pay for ”Hoshino Resort price”, unlike other cheaper hotels, we need to PAY for TAXI ourselves and getting a taxi during new year time is a terribly painful. Hotel staff lack of initiatives getting us cab instead we need to open different apps and such ... and on the way back the following day we ended up walking for 20 mins by ourselves .... Food is ok, onsen is ok, cleanliness ok, but nothing super ordinary. You can pay attention to details in decorations and inhouse services, but you can't pay attention to one of the most obvious services you HAVE TO provide to your guests, Hoshino ---- shuttle service .......
EEgg yolkLodging at this hotel is a good choice of a high cost or price performance ratio, apart from its location quite near to the eki or train station. Foods in the dinners or breakfasts are abundant; and happy to have beer and sake in the dinner. Room is large enough for three guests.
Pity that there is no Wifi provided in the dining9 place; also there is no covered outdoor walkway connecting the main block and South Wing and guests would get wet on the way to the dining place or onsen, when it rains. Lack of ramps but many steps connecting places of different levels. Parking lots are not close to the assigned rooms.
小小八哥Hotel location except for driving passengers, it is not convenient to take the bus. The type of room booked is only a smoking room, and the room has a strong smell of smoke and is uncomfortable. The food supply is very good and there are surprises. The hot spring baths are good. This hotel really wants to improve the quality of hygiene, the carpets are dark, and the room should be changed to not smoke. But the price is very high, especially the discount of Trip.com
QQINVery good hot spring 酒店 ️ hotel, pure Japanese style, tatami. Breakfast and dinner are attentive and very delicate. 15 minutes by car from downtown Nikko, and close to the attractions of Nikko Tosho, within 20 minutes by car
BBazeGreat in every way, from the excellent location, just across from Utsunomiya Station, connected by an overpass, to the modern decor, the smiling front desk staff, the good security system, the spacious rooms, the comfortable seating areas, the beds larger than the Japanese standard, and the reasonably good breakfast. All staffs are very nice and attentive. I like the onsen on the top floor, spacious and nice, with two large pools both indoor and outdoor, see the view of the railway station, especially at night is beautiful. Last but not least, there are many cafe, restaurant, shopping zone and huge supermarket in the whole building. Recommended!

RRandom随机Wow! This place was fantastic! The staff are all courteous and professional. The hotel rooms are really clean, and the atmosphere is so relaxing and tranquil. I really enjoyed the nature vibes, and the river view by the window is perfect! The sound of the water flow and birds chirping made it to be a great night's sleep. The morning scenery is even better. I have no complaints. It was a great place to stop and rest and admire your surroundings. Take advantage of the swimming pool and the hot springs. (FYI: No tattoos allowed in case you have any, so you won't be alarmed when you see the sign.) Otherwise, everything was great about my stay! ☺️
LLindaxiaolingziDuring the recent three-day autumn foliage season, rooms in Nikko were extremely difficult to book, especially balcony rooms with views of Nantaiyama and Chuzenji Lake. This time, I checked in at noon and requested an upgrade to a lake view room, and luckily, one became available on the 5th floor, the top floor. The balcony of the room offered a breathtaking lake view! Although the price was high, it was truly amazing!
Environment: Prime location near Chuzenji Lake, with its own dedicated station. The pier, lakeside, and Kegon Falls are all within walking distance.
Service: Top-notch. From check-in to introductions, turndown service, and breakfast the next day, the staff were impeccably at home! They now offer twice-daily shuttle service from Nikko Station. Truly fantastic!
Facilities: Complete with all amenities, including a private onsen (hot spring), and state-of-the-art bathing and skincare facilities.
Cleanliness: Spotless, and the public areas are impeccably beautiful.
Staying here is like living inside an oil painting, except for the price. But this is just one example! The purpose of making money is to achieve Ritz-Carlton freedom.
