This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. Some room types offer views of all of these aurora borealis directly from the bedroom, and each bedroom has a very, very large window or bay window. If you happen to be there during a major aurora event, you should be able to see the aurora from your room. However, not every room offers a view of these aurora borealis; it depends on the room's orientation. It's only a two- or three-minute walk from the door to see the aurora borealis, making it extremely convenient.

Located in the heart of Selfoss, it offers easy access to both the coast and the inland area.
The facilities are relatively new. The rooms are not particularly large.
There's parking, but it's limited, so you'll have to park on the street if you run out.
Breakfast is similar to other hotels, but the selection isn't extensive. The coffee is good.
There's a spa, but it costs 3,000 kroner per person. It has two small circular heated pools, one cold pool, a sauna, and showers.

The hotel is right downtown, making it easy to get around on foot. The breakfast buffet is small with limited options, though it was sufficient for a one-night stay.
While the room itself was very basic, the bathroom was modern and everything was clean. A convenient feature was that they stored our luggage for free after check-out, which allowed us to go for a day hike without carrying our bags.

The rooms were clean and the location was nice, but the rooms were a little dated looking. For the price I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the rooms, and I thought breakfast was lackluster. Comparable to a low end hotel breakfast in the USA.
Though there weren’t any big issues with the hotel, I probably would not stay there or recommend it.

We appreciated the one-mattress queen-size bed, something we found to be a rarity in our Iceland trip (the norm seemed to be two twin-beds slammed together, which just isn't the same thing. The staff was helpful and the facilities clean and well-maintained.
The only negative was the fact that the hotel charged a separate fee to use the hot tub.

Guest UserStayed for a day in the hotel. It was very beautiful. Although the location was a little remote, the scenery was very good. The dinner was also very delicious (a little expensive). It was a pity that I didn't see the aurora, otherwise it would definitely be beautiful.

Very clean, self-check-in (the key with the name is in the data bag at the front desk), there is a shoe rack at the door, shoes can not be worn in, so remember to bring slippers. The shower has a door but there is no glue strip below so the water will flow out. The breakfast quality is very good. Overall will recommend to friends.
