The hotel is brand new, with very spacious rooms and excellent facilities. Most of the public areas are shared with the neighboring Belmond property, including the pool, restaurants, and kids' club. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of options and is available until 12 PM, so you don't have to worry about missing it if you wake up late. The service was truly commendable. Upon check-in, the front desk kindly upgraded our room free of charge, and they were very prompt in addressing all our questions and needs throughout our stay. While there was some objective noise from nearby municipal construction, it stopped during lunch and in the evenings. Since we were out of the hotel for most of the day during our stay, it didn't really bother us much.

This hotel is great, it's my second time here. Soon after checking in, a butler contacted me and sent me information about the hotel's activities and specific schedules for kids' programs. They also provided very detailed information on transportation and things to do on the island, which saved us a lot of hassle. Special requests were also promptly and well-responded to. The service this time was even better than my first visit. I'll definitely contact Butler Jinjing again when I go back. [rose][rose] However, regarding the facilities, the big slide behind the hotel was out of order, and the children's activity area has shrunk. I hope they'll reopen it in the future.

An unparalleled experience! The hotel was grand in every aspect, making us feel right at home. We booked a Royal Club King Room, and it came with a complimentary afternoon tea upgrade. Since we missed the evening 'Sweet Hour', the butler, a lovely and kind young lady, graciously offered us afternoon tea for the following day instead. She was incredibly thoughtful and meticulous, providing us with all the necessary timings and important tips. **Facilities:** The TV felt a bit small for a Royal Club room. **Cleanliness:** Exceptionally clean. The bathtub didn't even need a liner, and the bath towels and hand towels were all very soft. The hotel provided two large and one small blue pool slippers, plus two large and one small white disposable slippers. **Service:** After our first swim, the bathrobes got completely soaked. The hotel promptly provided two extra sets, which was very efficient. **Location:** It's in a prime spot in Haitang Bay, about 1.8 kilometers from the CDF Duty-Free City.

This resort is perfect for families, offering a tranquil and delightful experience. You can catch the sunrise over the ocean right from your room's balcony in the morning, with only the sound of the waves for company. During the day, there's no need to leave the hotel; the winding garden paths and hammocks provide the perfect relaxation. In the afternoon, you can soak in the hot spring pool facing the sea, letting your body and mind completely unwind. As the sun sets, the gentle sea breeze and the twinkling hotel lights create an exceptionally warm atmosphere. The staff member CZ was incredibly kind and attentive, even arranging a heater for us when the temperature dropped. Highly recommend!

Our stay was great! The hotel's beach has really fine sand, and the room view was excellent. You can just lie on the balcony and watch the sea, which was super cozy in winter. A staff member, Coco, was responsible for our entire experience, from before check-in until after check-out, arranging everything and answering all our questions. Five stars for the thoughtful Coco! It's an older beachfront hotel, so it's understandable that the ventilation system might have a slight odor, but the room's cleanliness and facilities were well-maintained, so that minor issue didn't detract from our experience. There are also many great food options within walking distance of the hotel, and even our local Hainanese friend thought they were good.

Let me first say, hotels are always looking for a good review, but I will only give a good review if I honestly feel they deserve it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Qixian~ the resort grounds are absolutely stunning. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised to discover that the resort has been thoughtfully designed to feel part of the rainforest. Everywhere you look there are giant boulders, gurgling clear streams, ancient trees and hidden trails that make you feel you are walking deep in a forest. All you hear are the birds and the water rushing in the streams! We have travelled all over China, and this is the quietest, most authentic feeling nature spot we have ever experienced. In addition, there are so many hot springs you can choose to relax in, or you can use the hot spring attached to your balcony! The restaurant has a good variety and we liked everything we ordered, it was fresh and flavorful, we tried the pork ribs and braised tofu, both delicious, but the green coconut filled buns were a perfect ending! The lobby staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us all kinds of upgrades! You can get pickup on the carts anytime, but we preferred to walk and enjoy the beauty, the resort grounds feel huge, but honestly its well designed so you can reach any spot in 5-10 minutes. Also, they have all kinds of activities you can join. We really enjoyed the rainforest walk, the lady from the Li family that conducted the walk was so lovely, we could tell she really had a connection to the forest and just radiated joy as she showed us all the plants, it was one of the highlights of our stay! Our room was clean, the sheets were soft and the bed was comfortable. The view onto the palm forest was so relaxing to look at as we soaked in the spring. The infinity pool was spectacular, the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. The coconuts and dessert we ordered were really good, however, the drinks we ordered were awful and maybe they can get some more outgoing staff to work at the pool bar, maybe because it was winter time and less people are at the pool? Breakfast is served in a building that overlooks the river, there is ALL kinds of food, if you are a Westerner you can find fried eggs, toast, and pastries. But I recommend going to the area where fresh rice noodle is made for you on the spot, add toppings and fried eggs, it was delicious! There are some rustic areas to the resort- it feels a bit abandoned in areas, like its just too big to keep up with ie. Giant empty pools, some of the buildings look in desperate need of refurbishing, but overall we felt like the resort was truly beautiful and amenities really made this a great value for the price we paid. We are already planning to come back when we need a break from the city!

A stroll through lush tropical gardens leads directly to the pristine white sand beach. The 180° sea view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the sound of waves every morning and taking an evening walk under the coconut trees as the sun set truly brought the dream of ”facing the sea, with spring blossoms” to life. 🏨 Room Experience: Our sea-view suite was spacious and bright, with an elegant and comfortable modern Southeast Asian design. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the toiletries were high-quality – attention to detail was evident everywhere. The balcony lounge chair became my favorite spot to relax and unwind, with the sea breeze offering ultimate comfort. 🍽️ Dining Services: The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety, with Hainanese specialties like seafood fermented vinegar noodles and freshly cooked Hou'an noodles being particularly memorable. The seafood BBQ buffet we had for dinner at the hotel was excellent value for money. 👨👩👧 Family-Friendly: The kids' club had a wide range of activities, and the water park kept the children thoroughly entertained. The family-themed rooms were decorated with playful charm, and there was a delightful little dolphin plush toy surprise every day. Our butler, KAY, was incredibly warm and attentive. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip to Sanya, and I will definitely be back! 📍 Helpful Tips: * It's very convenient to reach the beach via an underpass. * The hotel gardens are perfect for photos; I recommend bringing light-colored dresses. * Staying during the off-season offers fantastic value, with sea-view rooms being a great deal. If you're looking for a relaxing beach holiday in Sanya, the Howard Johnson Resort is undoubtedly the best choice!

Loved the pool here, and the exclusive underground passage to the beach was a great touch. You can also borrow beach towels and there are sun loungers available. The hotel breakfast varied daily, and it was lovely to sit outside and watch the fish while eating. However, the rice in the sushi was really dry and hard. The hotel service was excellent, and our two-bedroom family suite had a huge living room and even a washing machine. There were quite a few international guests at this hotel. If you're traveling with children, I recommend asking for a kid's toothbrush cup or disposable cups and a small stool to make brushing their teeth easier. My daughter, who is 110cm tall, had her chin just at the edge of the sink. On the first night, she dropped a cup, and it shattered from what felt like only a 3cm drop. A staff member came to flip the mattress (my elderly parents prefer a firm bed), and when I asked them to take the glass shards away, they mentioned we'd have to pay for it. My daughter overheard this, and every night before bed, she'd say it was her fault for not holding it properly. In the end, we didn't have to pay, and she was very happy. Also, on the first day, when we called for a car, customer service would tell us to go downstairs, but when we got there, either the driver wasn't around to help with luggage or the car hadn't arrived yet. However, once we got familiar with the area, it was quick to walk ourselves. The restaurant had a clown interacting with guests and giving out balloons. On the first day, I saw it and told my daughter to go over, but they said it was over. My daughter was a bit disappointed. I think this could be improved; even a simple balloon would make a child happy.

The hotel is about a 25-minute drive from Haikou East Railway Station. It is a large resort mainly designed for golf visitors. The hot spring pools are located very close to the hotel building and stay open until 11 p.m. The breakfast starts as early as 6 a.m., which is convenient for early risers or guests catching a morning flight. The location is not very convenient, as the nearest shopping mall is about a 20-minute drive away. We booked a room for three adults, but the hotel only provided two complimentary entries to the hot spring pools. The third guest had to pay 88 RMB. Since the booking clearly included three adults, it would have been a nice gesture for the hotel to extend complimentary access for all three. Overall, it’s a spacious resort with enjoyable hot springs.

Fantastic! The views are absolutely stunning, and the hotel lobby is grand and luxurious with top-notch facilities. Our room was spotless and tidy, and the indoor pool was clean and comfortable. The beach was also clean with fine sand. Our butler, Mile, was exceptional! She proactively contacted me the day before check-in to inform us about the hotel's complimentary services and reminded us to make reservations. On the day of arrival, she personally escorted us to our room. Throughout our stay, no matter what we needed, she was always quick to assist, providing us with a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is impeccable in every aspect. We even decided to extend our stay for another day, and despite limited room availability, Mile managed to arrange for us to stay in our original room. We are truly grateful!
