The hotel is rather good, just across the road there’s a beach, downstairs is a pretty good cafe; the room was pretty spacious. The staff is friendly and nice. I just stayed for one night, so was satisfied with everything.
Not really young woman working in the morning seems to me quite interesting as when I was looking for a hotel, she checked the availability of free rooms and just said to me to go to another hotel, which price was three times hire than this one. So I booked it via this app ( trip.com) and everything was fine and there were free rooms.
Exceptional Luxury with Thoughtful Tech and Standout Service
I recently stayed at the Dorsett Gold Coast, and it was an outstanding experience. The level of detail across the property is highly visible, making for a stay that feels both premium and personalized.
A Seamless Arrival
The check-in experience set a fantastic tone. We were warmly greeted and offered welcome drinks at the Jin Café & Bar, which was a lovely touch. While we navigated the parking, the porter took our luggage directly to our room, allowing us to settle in stress-free.
Speaking of parking, while it is $20 per night, it is worth every cent for the convenience. The ”in and out” process is incredibly seamless because the staff enters your registration number into the system, so you never have to worry about tickets or delays.
Standout Service: Special Thanks to Sona
The service here is truly top-tier. I want to give a huge mention to Sona at reception, who was incredibly helpful throughout our entire stay. Her professionalism and warmth were much appreciated. Furthermore, the speed of the reception service for any phone requests was impressive—they are lightning-fast.
The ”Smart” Room Details
The room design features some ”genius” touches that I haven't seen elsewhere:
* The Smart Mirror: The bathroom mirror has a specialized coating so that even after a steaming hot shower, a specific section remains perfectly clear.
* Auto Night Light: The bathroom has an automatic night light that activates on its own—perfect for navigating at night without fumbling for switches.
* The in room switches was also very thoughtful and unique, for the first time experienced such.
* The Chromecast casting tech was great as you can stream what you like.
Dining & Relaxation
The pool area is absolutely fancy and stunning—a perfect spot to lounge. We also enjoyed the hearty buffet breakfast at the Star Grand; it’s a great spread, though I’d love to see a few more vegetarian varieties added to the hot selection.
Constructive Feedback
To make the experience truly 5-star across the board, there are two areas for improvement:
* In-Room Appliances: The hairdryer and iron felt quite basic and didn't really match the premium, high-tech vibe of the hotel.
* Poolside Dining: While the pool itself is beautiful, the restaurant menu there is very limited and almost negligible. More food variety by the water would be a big plus.
Overall, a fantastic stay. Between the tech, the parking ease, and the wonderful service from Sona, I would definitely recommend the Dorsett!
Love the room with the lake view. Cooking stove, refrigerator and kettle are provided. Good cooking pan to cook the steak. The amenities such as the pool is nice at night. However, the wifi does not work well. Happy with the stay.

The hotel boasts a superb location with breathtaking views from the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need. This is a fantastic apartment hotel; the only minor drawbacks were the slightly small and single bathroom. Otherwise, all other services were excellent. Highly recommended.

This hotel is centrally located on the esplanade, and this is its main plus. In everything else, in my view, it loses out to the Hilton , to which I moved after a few days. My room smelled to the extent it made me feel unwell. The two swimming pools they boast are a joke. In the first glass pool, you are fully exhibited to everyone on the esplanade, which is why no one swims. In the second one you can't swim if there's anyone else in the pool, it's that narrow. The spa is a private massage joint. I was given a parking spot with no remote the first day, and allowed to park as an exception - their parking is too small to accomidate a hotel of this size. It has no ev charging. The breakfast is nowhere as good as the Hiltons. In any case I fixed all these problems by moving.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Although the room design is old style(not renovated one), the room is clean and the sea view is amazing. Great location especially to the meet up point of skydive and diving. Just 5 mins walk. ****** is just nearby so you don’t need to worry the night activities. Staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoy the stay a lot.

Please note that toothbrushes are not provided in the room. While there's a microwave, only cups and spoons are supplied. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. It was too cold to use the pool, but its location was excellent.

The room layout was cozy, and the room service was quite good. The pool was beautiful, and the food was also nice. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center. On a side note: avoid the trendy pasta restaurant Vila Romana (pictured in Figure 4). We're from Melbourne, and they thought we were tourists from China. An old man who spoke some Chinese kept trying to rip us off and was vague about wanting a tip. Figure 3, IMM Thai Cafe, was delicious; we ate there three times, haha.

The hotel has a nice and classy overall look, but the room and bathroom felt somewhat dated. The front desk staff were unfriendly and not very accommodating, which was disappointing. However, the concierge team was excellent—very helpful and genuinely welcoming.
The main advantages of this hotel are its location and the great concierge service. During my stay, several events were held in the hotel hall, and it became overcrowded, making it uncomfortable for in-house guests to use the facilities such as pool etc. Despite paying a substantial amount for accommodation, the hotel declined even a 30-minute late check-out request, which was quite frustrating.
Overall, you could easily spend less—or top up a little more—and enjoy far better service at other nearby hotels.

Mixed Experience – Great Location, Poor Internet & Breakfast Setup
The hotel is in a great location, and the room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Facilities like the car park and lifts were well maintained and met expectations.
However, as business travellers, the internet connection was a major letdown. The hotel appears to rely on a hotspot system, which was extremely unreliable—slow speeds and constant disconnections all weekend. Streaming services such as Netflix were unusable, and even basic browsing was frustrating. To make matters worse, the remote control had nearly dead batteries and worked intermittently.
We were also disappointed with the rest and breakfast experience. After early starts each day, we were hoping for some quiet downtime in the afternoon, but this was hard to enjoy given the other issues.
The weekend breakfast arrangement felt misleading. Instead of onsite breakfast, we received a $20 per person voucher to a nearby café. While the café was pleasant, it only opened at 7:30 am on weekends—not ideal when you're starting work at 6:30–7:00 am. And realistically, $20 doesn’t go far at most cafés these days, so it felt like a cost-cutting workaround rather than a genuine breakfast offering.
On a positive note, Clara at reception on Saturday was professional and kind—she did her best to assist, though unfortunately there wasn’t much she could do. It seemed like her manager may have been present but avoided getting involved, which was disappointing given the situation.

GGuest UserSurfers Beach Holiday Apartments was a great place to stay for our family. The management was helpful. Rooms were of a good size. The location is quiet. It is a easy walk to catch the G:tram. This makes getting to Surfers Paradise or other locations easy. Riding the G is also much cheaper and easier than trying to find parking for the car. While we were there, there were few people using the pool. Our grandkids had a great time... and mostly had the pool to themselves. I didn't realize there wasn't an elevator.(My fault for not checking.) Being on the third floor normally wouldn't have been an issue. Because of health issues for one of our family members, it would have been easier if we had been on a lower floor. If I had contacted the management when booking they said they would have tried to give us a lower floor. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.
AAnonymous UserI was mostly happy with the resort. There were some things missing like more food options (only two restaurants) and small luxuries like a sauna for example. It’s also hard to rate the staff as you had some incredibly helpful staff and then some real depressing ones that were just rude. The only other thing that was a bit of a shock was that the beaches were just full of dead coral and no sand. I hadn’t been to one of the islands in the Whitsundays so I was surprised to see that. The photos of the resort did not show this so it would have been nice to know so it didn’t lead to disappointment. Some positives though is that the resort was beautifully designed and they offered a lot of free water activities like kayaking for example. The buffet breakfast was also really nice.

GGuest UserA beautiful swimming pool and warm Jacuzzi. The weather was too chill for swimming in July though. The service was good, and breakfast was ok. Not much options but foods were good. There were always parking spot available not like other hotels in GC. I will definitely go back.

RRoxrctWe booked The Langham on the Gold Coast for our honeymoon. It is a nice hotel but I can honestly say it is not worth the over $550 per night we paid. I’ve listed positives and negatives below:
Positives:
- there was a nice note and small chocolate slice in the room wishing us a lovely honeymoon
- Staff are very friendly/welcoming
- Ocean view was amazing from the hotel room
- facilities - gymnasium was fully equipped with a view of the ocean/beach
- Bathtub was lovely
- Easy access to the beach
Negatives:
- There were stains on the sheets. When we arrived I noticed two stains in separate places on the sheets (note: they were dry stains). I went down to reception and they said they’d send housekeeping up to change the sheets. As advised, a woman arrived to change the sheets. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the new sheets and there were stains on those as well. I went back down to reception and they said they’d send a supervisor up again to look at the sheets. Two staff came to the room, apologised and changed the sheets again (this time I checked). The hotel gave us a bottle of wine, some lip balm and pillow spray which was a nice gesture as an apology, however, multiple stained sheets for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel is very disappointing.
- The pre-authorisation amount (hold) when checking in is $200 a day, so $1,000 for a 5 night stay. This is ridiculously high. I don’t know why they hold that much considering most hotels, even 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in, hold $100-200 for a stay. On a positive note it did come back into my account straight away at check-out
MMelzza23Unfortunately we did not have a great stay. We booked 3 apartments for a family vacation and all 3 had issues. All 3 apartments had faulty air cons. 1 air con didn’t work at all and also a toilet in that apartment didn’t work either. Also when we arrived, we found one of our carparks had a car parked in it and that 2 other guests were allocated the same Carpark as us. We all contacted the letting company and all guests were told to seek help from the apartment reception who then told us all to contact the letting company as they don’t deal with the private apartments and their carparks. So it was back and forth for hours, we even visited the office twice until the car was finally removed. In terms of the no aircon/ broken toilet room, we were told there was nothing the letting company could do about it as they only have 1 staff member on so we’d have to wait for the next day and that some of our cost would be refunded (We are still waiting). The next day, in the morning the staff member visited and said the aircon is broken and they’ll have to find another room so will get back to us. It was close to the letting company’s closing time and we hadn’t heard back so we followed up only to be told there’s no more rooms available and our family would have to make do with the fans. Our family members in the no aircon room got sick from the heat/ stuffiness even with the doors and windows open. The amenities - lagoon, gym and pool are awesome So it was really unfortunate we did not enjoy our stay due to the lack of upkeep of the apartments and the service.
