Dorsett Gold Coast

I turned on the "make up room" light early in the morning, but no one came to clean all day. I noticed the same situation with my neighbors next door. I stayed for three days and two nights but never saw a housekeeper on this floor. The hotel is new and luxuriously decorated, located on an island. You have to walk a bit to find shops, restaurants, and supermarkets off the island. It's more convenient to get around by taxi or your own car.

The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were a bit underwhelming. For example, the balcony door lock was broken on the first day, and though it was fixed, I later discovered the hot water in the sink wasn't working. These issues should really be checked before guests check in. Luckily, everything was eventually repaired. My stay wasn't the best, but the Nepalese lady at the front desk who helped resolve the problems was excellent – thumbs up to her! Breakfast was a partnership with Harvest Buffet inside The Star, costing $30 for one adult and one child, which I thought was a reasonable price.

It's a pretty standard hotel, but the room design has some issues. There's a desk but no chair, which is really not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Where am I supposed to sit if I need to do some work? Also, the bathroom design is illogical. The hooks are directly opposite the showerhead, so anything hung there would just get soaked! Plus, there are no other hooks in the bathroom, so I had no idea where to put my dry clothes.

The hotel room in Gold Coast isn't very big, but it has a balcony with a view. It's not very lively downstairs, but there's a large shopping mall about a ten-minute walk away. That place is bustling, with plenty of food, drinks, a supermarket, and even luxury goods if you're looking to browse.
