Romantic Hotels in Penang, Malaysia

Stayed here during the Chinese New Year period and it was very crowded. The room's carpet, linens, and appliances show a bit of age, but thankfully, the overall visible areas were clean. The location is very convenient, directly opposite Jen Hotel and very close to Komtar. There's a stunning high-rise infinity pool perfect for photos, and water dispensers are available on every floor. The breakfast was quite substantial, especially the freshly made roti canai and toast. The service attitude was also proper and courteous.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was really great, perfect for those who want comfort and convenience for exploring and dining. What impressed me most was the sense of space. Both the room and the public areas were very spacious, completely free of any cramped feeling. The room itself was large enough to spread out luggage and move around freely. The bedding and furniture layout were well-arranged, not feeling crowded at all, making for a very relaxing stay. The bathroom area was also quite roomy, with a clean and efficient wet/dry separation, making showering and washing up very comfortable and convenient for daily use. Next up is the pool, which scored high marks for both aesthetics and practicality. The pool's design is beautiful, the water quality is clean, and the environment is meticulously maintained. It's fantastic for photos during the day when the light is good, and a swim in the evening or at night with the breeze is incredibly pleasant. It's suitable for both relaxing and for kids to play in the water. Even just sitting by the pool and daydreaming felt very therapeutic. The location is another big plus. It's super close to the night market, within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for evening strolls and eating. No need for taxis or long walks; if you want to grab some snacks, buy small items, or soak in the local atmosphere, it’s just a few steps away. Returning late also felt very safe. It’s ideal for anyone who loves the night market vibe and doesn't want to hassle with transportation.

Good stay at Jazz Hotel Penang 👍 Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe. Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!

The room isn't huge, but it was reasonably clean. Service was decent. Breakfast is a collaboration with a nearby restaurant, and if you don't pre-purchase the breakfast plan, ordering à la carte is quite expensive. I got coffee and a cream cheese bagel, and with the service charge, it came out to over RM30. It's very close to the sea, though it's not a particularly beautiful beach.

The room is big and the light in the room is bright. However, better check the cleanliness of the bed after check in because one of the room bed sheet is having blood stain. The breakfast for the first day is limited choice and the taste just so-so compare to the second day breakfast. However, can’t denied that the scene of the surrounding hotel is beautiful and nice.

The room and bed were generally comfortable, and overall cleanliness was acceptable. However, the shower design allowed water to flow out easily and flood the bathroom floor. The balcony was also unpleasant to use due to frequent crows and pigeons. Privacy was a concern, as the neighboring balcony was directly beside ours, making it possible for others to look into the room. One issue that concerned me was seeing a housekeeping staff member squeezing a dirty wiping cloth on the balcony and letting the water drain outside. I did not take photos or videos because I did not want to cause trouble for the staff, but I believe hotel management should maintain stricter supervision and hygiene standards. The walkway to the beach through the Miami Cafe was dirty and had many mosquitoes, and the beach itself was quiet with very few visitors. In my opinion, it is not an attractive beach destination. On the positive side, breakfast was very good with a wide variety of options, consistent with the standard expected from Hilton hotels. Free parking was also provided, which was convenient.

Service was good. Staff were quiet, polite, and professional. Location is good. Walkable distance to 2 hawker places, and the bakery Rotilah just opposite the hotel is a must try! And not more than 10 mins to most tourist spots by Grab. Enjoyed the pool and gym, good to work off the calories taken in. Aircon was good, just that the comforter gets a bit hot after a while. The free coffee and cold water dispenser is a godsend in this brutal weather.

This hotel is perfect for families! It's spacious and comfortable. We'd definitely come back again. There are plenty of food options nearby too, like Nasi Kandar Kayu and Breakfast Bekal Cafe. It's also close to Bukit Jambul Complex. Really great! 👍

The hotel is clean and the location is great. The staff are all incredibly friendly and there are cute cats around! They offer free bicycle rentals, which is super convenient for getting around Penang, though the roads can be a bit challenging to ride on, so be careful. There's a coffee shop downstairs and a bar upstairs, and you get a discount as a guest.

First time going to Penang, loved the location of the hotel. Amazing view of the beach from our room, and saw fireworks one night was a treat. They keep the beach clean for the property, each day saw it being cleared. The pool is a good refreshing temperature. Majority of the time isn't overly busy. Good depth and size of pool. I enjoyed swimming laps each day and relaxing on the sunloungers. Kept clean, fresh towels available. Good pool toys for the kids. The gym was amazing, good equipment and machines- beautiful view of the ocean. I would prefer the air con colder as the one in there didnt cool the room down enough and if wasn't standing near it, it got very hot. The water provided in there also isn't cold which i didnt like ( is in a machine that says keeping warm, which i dont understand shouldn't drink warm water when working out, don't know if it's a culture thing? Wasn't to my liking anyway) The room is spacious, bathroom bit tight but made do. Nice amenities topped up daily. Bed comfortable. Air con in room works amazing. Cleanliness in room noticed could've been better as after room being 'cleaned' noticed my hair still on floor and sand in corner from shoes. So seems the floor doesn't get swept or mopped as much as we thought. Buffet breakfast was great, yummy food and lots of everything. Plenty of staff i just think they need to be more attentive and watch the buffet e.g kids touching food ( saw few things) and make sure the food is safe for other guests to eat. We ate at the hotel lunch and dinner also, the staff mean well but there is a language barrier and was few instances where our meals didn't come out correct like we got a tomato soup when we pointed and said on the menu tomato pasta. We are patient enjoyed the food and kept going back despite the mistakes. We understand a second language can be difficult. Amazing fresh cakes in fridge we just about tried them all. The staff also did a lovely birthday song and candles on cake my husband brought. Overall had a lovely time.
