JJulieA little out of the way. VERY steep climb to the hotel - taxi needed unless you are very fit. Fine walking down.
Hotel was spotless couldn't fault it at all.
Slight issue with tea & coffee in the room. Couldn't plug kettle in without it being on the floor - could maybe do with a small table near the plug??
Only 1 normal tea bag and 1 fruit t bag for 2 people staying. Had to ask for extra t bags, spoon and milk-wasn't supplied in the room.
Breakfast was good-not a massive choice but what was there was very high quality and was replenished regularly.
The hotel it self was affiliated with a restaurant in town which we went to twice-amazing food and service.
Staff were very helpful-great hotel would definetely recommend and stay again.
II.W.ChesterBeautiful elegant period accommodation with antique furniture, surrounded by well manicured garden.
We had fantastic views of the river and vineyards from the balcony ( room 6A) ,
The ”casa” is immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the spacious tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower was looking amazing.
The owner Manuel was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He gave us a lift to the train station early in the morning, because of the national strike disruption and also prepared pack breakfast for us.
A welcoming glass of port on our arrival also was a nice touch.
I would definitely recommend Casa de Sao Domingos to anyone.
GGuest UserGreat location, very beautiful hotel along one of the best views to Douro river and vineyards. Staff is great and the hotel is super clean and well integrated in the landscape. Super recommend
GGuest UserBeautiful location. If you stay there is a complimentary tour of the wine making facilities. We had dinner at the restaurant which was packed... Food was above average but our medium t-bone was more of a medium well done. Swimming pool was cool and relaxing as it over looked the river. Suggest a minimum stay of 2 nights so that you can explore the town, river walk and vineyard walk.
NNatalie SilvaThe hotel is nece and has a good breakfast. We did not use the pool but seemed pleasent. The location is fantastic and having parking in the city is also. Plus even though it won't be enough for everyone. Right by the river for a nice walk.
What I would change is removing the carpet from rooms. Ours had stains which doesn't give you the best impression of clean.
MMarianneSGVery nice hotel, quiet. The breakfast is varied but the dinner table leaves something to be desired. Expensive for what it is, not worthy of a so-called great chef's restaurant....
GGuest UserIncredible service from start to finish, best we received on our trip (which is saying something). The room was pristine, had small gifts for my better half’s birthday and the food/wine were excellent. The honest bar was great and genuine interest in their wine was clear to see from everyone that we spoke to.
