GGuest UserThe butler and proprietress here are incredibly warm and welcoming. When the butler heard we were going to the scenic area, he immediately offered to drive us there without a second thought. In the evening, the proprietress saw we hadn't eaten yet and invited us to join them for a home-cooked meal. That pot of cured beef was absolutely divine, with an authentic Hunan flavor. Breakfast wasn't limited to just a few items; you could order whatever you wanted. The toasted bread deserves special mention – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Paired with a cup of their signature berry tea, that's what a peaceful morning in the mountains feels like.
Stepping through the door, you can tell a lot of thought went into the design: solid wood complementing marble, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, rattan furniture, and a splash of red chair, all harmonizing perfectly. The dried lotus pods in the hallway and the photos of peaks on the wall are all Zhangjiajie through the proprietress's lens – stone peaks in the mist, terraced fields in the morning. Wang Wei's line, ”White clouds turn back and gather, green mist enters and disappears,” suddenly made sense. Treehouses are built along the mountain slope; stepping out, you're enveloped by mist, leaves, and the scent of the mountains. This place feels more like a mountain retreat lovingly nurtured.
There are also thoughtful details that make you feel well taken care of: both a washing machine and a dryer are available, which is great because it's humid in the mountains, so you don't have to save clothes to wash at home. Toiletries, a first-aid kit, smart home features, and rattan diffusers in the room are all provided. The most remarkable thing is how clean it is – corners, crevices, bedding, everything looks spotless at first glance, and it remained that way even on our third day.
Our experience at Cloudland Garden during our stay in Zhangjiajie completely exceeded expectations. The scenery itself is free, but the feeling of being genuinely cared for is what this place provides. Next time we visit, we'll definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our stay at Foggy Valley. It’s a peaceful, quiet retreat with beautiful traditional Chinese architecture, and the free laundry service was a lifesaver after the airline misplaced our luggage.
My only suggestion would be to freshen up the exterior of the buildings that aren’t used as guest rooms, so the entire complex feels as charming as the main areas.

GGuest UserFantastic stay! Great value for money, and the location is superb. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Forest Park, the facilities are new, and the service is excellent, plus they allow pets for free.
The location is excellent. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the East Gate of Forest Park (and roughly 8 minutes from the bus station, where you can catch a bus to the South Gate). The parking lot is right at the hotel, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: The bedding was clean, but housekeeping after check-in can be hit or miss since the staff finishes at 12 PM. -0.2
Service: The front desk staff was very welcoming and professional. They even carefully reviewed my booking notes and requests, which was a nice touch and genuinely appreciated.
Facilities: The hotel facilities are quite new (they have a Tmall Genie, but the toilet doesn't have a bidet function -0.1, though it is a smart toilet). There's a small issue with the accessibility facilities, as a section is missing -0.25 (however, the hotel staff will assist with luggage).
Comfort: The hotel's design is simple and stylish.
Dining: The room is spacious, and while they don't offer meals, there is a kitchen.
Bonus Points: Not only did I get a room upgrade +0.5, but also a late check-out +0.5, a refrigerator +0.5, and a kitchen +0.5 (on a side note, I even saw a butler helping a foreign guest with Taobao shopping issues).
Drawbacks: Despite the no-smoking signs, there was still a smell of smoke in the hallway. -0.5

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

When taking a Didi (ride-hailing), it's just a 5-minute walk after getting out—very convenient for hailing a cab! Plus, the hotel has its own shuttle. Just let the owner know in advance, and they will drive you to various attractions or the shuttle bus station for sightseeing! The owner is very thoughtful and friendly, and the room was super clean and spotless, absolutely faultless! Even though almost all the rooms on our floor were occupied, it was still very quiet 😍 My parents were also extremely satisfied, and the overall 3-day experience was just super fantastic! Thumbs up to the boss!

Unlike many properties tucked deep in the mountains, this place offers the best of both worlds: you get to enjoy the tranquility of nature without being cut off from transport.
The ambiance here is so therapeutic. You don't even need to step outside; just sitting in the courtyard or your room gives you panoramic views of the mountains in the distance. The overall design is very tasteful, and you can really tell the owner puts genuine heart into running it. They provide a full pick-up and drop-off service, so whether you're heading to the scenic area or the station, you don't have to worry about hailing a cab, which saves so much hassle.
Staying here, you can truly unwind after a day of hiking and fully immerse yourself in the stunning landscape of Zhangjiajie. Highly recommended!

AAnonymous UserThe location is absolutely fantastic! It's a one-minute walk to IFS, one minute to Pozi Street, and five minutes to Taiping Old Street. The subway is just two minutes away.
The hotel environment is pretty great; it should satisfy even those with high standards.
Regarding facility issues: 1. There's nowhere to hang clothes to dry. 2. The shower drain has poor drainage.
Regarding service issues: I'd say there's basically zero service. There was no phone call to confirm my booking beforehand. They didn't notify me in advance about road closures near the hotel. The cleaning staff knocked on my door to clean at 8 or 9 AM. Do I really need housekeeping when I'm only staying one night? Can't they confirm with the front desk if the guest has checked out instead of knocking to check?

GGuest UserWe had a one night stay in this beautiful place. We received snacks, water, and watermelon upon our arrival (my favorite fruit!)) Everything was clean, bathroom was modern, and the hotel was able to get us a ride to the hotel at no charge. This was great as they helped with all the luggage straight into the room. They also booked a car for us to the train station. DiDi is difficult in this area so we appreciate the hotel accommodating us. Thank you for everything, highly recommend this hotel!

Room Facilities:
Newly renovated with smart facilities throughout. There's a robot that can deliver meals, and the TV supports screen mirroring. The only minor flaw I could find was a slight creaking sound when opening the room door; otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect.
Service Attitude:
Everyone I met at this hotel was incredibly friendly! Upon arrival, the front desk lady explained how to best explore the Forest Park. In the evening, I mentioned to one of the hotel staff that I wanted to try berry tea, and without hesitation, he boiled water and made a cup for each of us. The auntie making wontons at breakfast even made me four specially, saying it symbolized prosperity. We booked a shuttle to Zhangjiajie West Station, and the driver arrived punctually and waited downstairs; he was very polite, and the business car was very comfortable.
Hotel Features:
What I loved most about this hotel was its rooftop sky garden. The garden houses over a dozen Ragdoll cats, which are incredibly cute and friendly. I made sure to pet them every day, and they were what I missed most when leaving.
Overall, I absolutely loved it and would definitely come back given the chance!
