This was my first trip to Japan's Tohoku region. The Richmond Hotel Morioka is visible right after exiting the JR station. When traveling in Japan, I generally choose hotels near JR stations for their unparalleled convenience in dining, accommodation, transportation, and shopping. I'm especially pleased with the Richmond Morioka. The rooms are slightly larger than hotels in other cities, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make them feel bright and airy. The cleanliness and facilities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. The check-in/check-out times were better than in other areas. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. If I visit the Tohoku region again, I'll definitely use Morioka as my base, and the Richmond will undoubtedly be my top choice.
This is a very high-quality hot spring resort with many baths to choose from. I stayed here in January, and several of the outdoor baths were particularly charming. Soaking my feet in the warm, hot water while it snowed was a beautiful experience, with a stream and mountain views. The rooms were also very spacious and clean. It's a highly recommended place.
We arrived late from an overseas trip but before the check in last call. Staff was friendly and thorough. The air conditioning seemed a bit weak but otherwise kept us cool. The rooms were western style, including the bathrooms and were well stocked. We didn't get a chance to eat there as we slept in until almost checkout. Beautiful place. Will likely stay there again in the future if we need another night in Morioka!
Hotel Jin Morioka is just next to the train station.
Very convenient location as a center point to travel in the region.
Rooms are clean and nice with Mountain View.
Breakfast for only 1000 Yen is a very good offer.
Definitely recommend this hotel đ
We were two people staying 3 nights.
We had breakfast and we were very happy with it (6:30-10:00, L.O 9:30). It didnât change much during the stay, but it had a lot of options and it tasted good.
The room was small. If you have suitcase it will be hard to open it up. We didnât have suitcases, so for us it was no problem. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
They have a manga library and coffe machine (15:00-22:00), and space with tables and chairs where you can e.g eat.
They have laundry as well (10:00-22:00). It was cheep (washing 400 yen 30 min, dryer 100 yen 10 min). It was a standing washing machine (which I donât really like) and we had a lot of laundry, so we went to another coin laundry 1 min walk from the hotel, which was good (washing 15 kg 30 min 800 yen, drying 10 min 100 yen).
We didnât use room cleaning, but every day we got a bag of towels on our door knob.
It is around 10-15 min walk to the station. But itâs close to shopping streets and Iwaki park. It has a lot of restaurants close by. If you like all-you-can-drink thereâs a lot of options close by as well.
After check out we left our baggage for a couple of hours. It was no problem.
The people at the hotel were very nice and polite.
Overall we had a very nice stay at this hotel.
We had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences.
1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. Thereâs also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones
2) the door of my friendâs room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with ăȘăă2 sticked on wall). Glad thereâs no missing items
3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover!
I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.
The hotel is just a short walk across the JR station. To reach the hotel, you need to use the underpass. You can use the B1 lift to enter or exit the underpass so itâs very convenient for those with luggages. The room is small but functional. The only complaint is that the kettle provided cannot be dismantled from the plug. In order to fill water you need to carry the kettle together with the plug. Otherwise, everything is just perfect.
The hotel is located directly opposite the red circle at Morioka Station's South Exit. You can't get there directly, so you'll need to go around it to the right (it's farther to the left).
Morioka Station has many self-service luggage lockers, which is very convenient.
The hotel is quite convenient, and the free breakfast is satisfying, but the elevator wait can be difficult during the morning hours.
The hotel staff are very warm, polite and attentive. Very satisfied! The room I booked includes a semi-open-air bath, which is a great environment. The room was also cleaned very well. Breakfast and dinner were also very rich and delicious. Highly recommended!!!!

GGuest UserThe location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time.
The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home.
Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff.
Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable.
Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite.
I will definitely be returning!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located deeper in the mountains than I expected. From Morioka, I took a bus at 7:30 PM, and after about an hour and a half, most people had gotten off within 20 minutes, leaving me on a secluded road with almost no lights. Eating out at night would be nearly impossible.
GGuest UserI was looking for a hotel for my trip to Morioka when I found out this hotel was opening that day, so I booked it right away.
The lobby, guest rooms, and lounge were all beautiful, stylish, and wonderful.
The large public bath had a sauna, which was very relaxing.
The breakfast, which I had been looking forward to, was even more delicious than I expected, and I ate a lot. I definitely want to stay here again the next time I travel to Morioka.

DDevI stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.
CCarey WuAbout 5 minutes drive from the snow field~ The service staff are very kind
Inform the service staff of the time to leave and return, they will be ready for free pick-up and drop-off
The hot spring is great~ There are public and independent soup houses (independent soup houses need to be registered according to the use of the day, and luck is almost available)
The bathhouse contains (face wash, makeup remover, lotion, lotion, hair maintenance fluids all provide very good products, and they are also very clean and tidy)
The restaurant food is also very delicious (reservation 2 days ago)
Approximately USD 4500/person
Stayed here for 8 days and really felt at home
Very recommended for friends who come to Ambi ski to experience this accommodation
CP value is super high! !
HHr waSelf-driving car ăă㧠utilization. Parking lot 㯠no material.
It is a small hotel, but there are a number of rooms or more parking lots, so it seems that you cannot park your car.
A system where you can give a card key at check-in and put it in a box when you go out and leave it as it is. You don't need to leave it at the front desk when you go out. Simple but no trouble.
It is a little far from the nearest Ichinoseki station and the downtown area in front of the station (?), but it is a distance that cannot be walked. Is it a little closer from the east exit? It seems to be within the taxi first ride fare range.
There are seven eleven and drug stores (food super type goods) within 3 minutes walk of the inn, and there is no particular inconvenience in shopping.
The room doesn't feel that big, but it has everything you need to stay as a business and it's a good impression. There is no particular concern about beds and bedding.
WIFI speed is no problem, and the sound of other rooms is not particularly heard and comfortable. Best environment if you don't ask for excessive service.
Free breakfast is a system that takes bread, small bowls, yogurt (Danon), and beverages by yourself. It's simple, but if you don't need âguts from the morning!â, you can even feel that it's just right.
The price is the lowest among the hotels near ichinoseki station, and there is no shortage of service if it is a business use with a car.
I think it will be a good choice for those who do not ask for extra service for accommodation.
Personally I was able to stay comfortably.
