GGuest UserBeachfront resort but I only got a skylight. Even the bathroom had a better view. The room had 2 beds but linens were removed for one since I was a solo traveler and only 1 towel was provided. No shoes policy helped keep the house clean. That is very good. I didn’t use the kitchen much except to make tea but seems like it is in good condition. Dishwashing liquid however was in a glass jar instead of pump. It’s strange cos you end up using too much for a small spoon and the jar is very slippery. Bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent! Hot food along with homemade breads. It was the best breakfast I had in my 2 weeks in Iceland. Location is an hour drive from Egilsstaðir via some mountain pass, gravel roads and along the coast road. The views are breathtaking. But it’s a small town and if you don’t intend to hike around the area then it might not be worth spending so much time getting to and fro your accommodation.

LLeah ChiuWasn't expecting much but ended up so pleasantly surprised! My elderly parents and I absolutely loved our stay here! One of the best places we stayed in Iceland this trip. The Guesthouse manager (matnus? Sorry I'm not sure how his name is spelt!) was kind enough to help us arrange a last minute change of room as we changed our minds and wanted to upgrade to a bigger room. We stayed at the one bedroom apartment and everything was lovely. Squeaky clean, even for a clean freak like me. The place was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. I noticed there is a thick layer of cushion over the sofa bed so this was the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. My parents also said the double bed was very very comfortable. Highly highly recommend this Guesthouse!

LLonely_HikerThe Guesthouse is strategically ideally located: In a few minutes you will be on the Vök bath with the car, where we were wonderfully relaxed in the evening. The rooms are relatively large, very clean and the bed including kitchen and ceiling was very comfortable – you really sleep well. I would like to emphasise the great common kitchen. It is modernly equipped and offers several cooking fields so that all guests can cook without problems at the same time without coming in the cross. All you need is found in the surrounding area: a large supermarket and a tanker are only about 700 metres away. Overall a very pleasant accommodation with practical location and good equipment.

MMicrobe kaiLocation: Good, located next to the lake, with restaurants and attractions nearby Facilities: We stayed in a two-person room on the third floor. The room was a bit small, and a suitcase larger than a boarding suitcase might get stuck; the extension cord had poor contact, the hot water pressure was sufficient, and it came with a hair dryer, soap, shampoo and Conditioner; there is chess to play in the public area. But why does the 4-person room on the first floor have a hot water kettle (as seen through the window when walking by the lake), but not upstairs? ! Service: The first floor is under renovation, self-service is provided, keys are provided in envelopes for self-pickup, no breakfast is provided, only paper is enclosed in the envelope. Recommended restaurants Others: Located next to the road, with no airtight windows and poor sound insulation

GGuest UserThe location was picture perfect. I could write a book of all of the pleasant features and positive moments. The restaurant staff in particular was wonderful. I felt so well taken care of. The dock behind the hotel was a great place to visit. The water was a color I have never seen before and so clear that I could see the rocks on the bottom. There were jelly fish, birds and a seal. I took my dessert upstairs and ate it on my balcony facing the water. Afterwards, I walked up the hill and found a cemetery with French soldiers. I wish I had booked for more than one night.

JJY0321Centrally located close to domestic airport, gas station and supermarket. Hotel appears to be converted from an old building but is nicely maintained with a charming lobby. Room size is bigger than other Iceland hotels. Shower is only separated from toilet by a shower curtain, so bathroom would get a bit wet but not a big issue. Both dinner and breakfast are good. Better reserve for dinner as it gets busy. O sure washing machine is handy, although may need to wait a bit as there is only one machine. Staff are generally helpful. Overall a pleasant stay.

LLeah ChiuThe room was a bit small for my family of three. But the bathroom is very spacious. Room is also clean. Room does not have a kettle but there is a common pantry which was useful. The main issue was check in because the check in was not actually at hotel post itself but at the other hotel next door and instructions were not clearly given. We panicked a bit initially because we reached quite late and could not find a way to get into hotel post. Luckily we managed to call the hotel and was told that check in is in the other building.

GGuest UserSpaces duplex family room with a private bathroom for a family of four. The duplex provides privacy with 2 beds each at lower & upper floors. Staff are nice & helpful. Curtains need to upgrade to a black out type to shield light penetration. Overall it was a value stay!
