This time, the air conditioning in the room wasn’t as cool as during my previous stay. It might be due to energy-saving measures, but it did affect the overall comfort. I contacted maintenance on the first night as the room felt warm at 25°C. After servicing, the temperature improved to 23°C. However, it gradually increased again — 24°C the next day and back to 25°C on the day before check-out. With the current humid and warm weather, I hope the air-conditioning system can be better maintained to ensure a more comfortable stay for guests. Other than the air-conditioning issue, I really enjoyed the location. It’s very convenient, with massage services, food options, pedicure, and hair treatments all located just next to the hotel, which made the stay much more enjoyable.

Stayed at Miico Hotel Mount Austin previously and recently tried Miico Hotel Permas Jaya. The Permas Jaya branch is relatively new, so everything feels fresh and clean, which is a plus. The corridor ambience is calming with subtle decor and classical music, adding a nice touch to the overall experience. However, soundproofing is limited—I could hear conversations from the corridor and adjacent rooms. The room door was slightly stiff to open fully, and there was a mild unusual smell in the toilet. Occasional loud noises at night were also noticeable, likely from outside the hotel. Overall, a decent short stay with a pleasant atmosphere, but improvements in soundproofing and minor maintenance would enhance the experience.

Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience. For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager. I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort. On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods. Check-out was smooth and efficient. Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out.

The location of Tune Hotel is convenient, as it is not too far from the airport and Woodlands. In terms of service, it was generally satisfactory. However, it would be better if the hotel provided a telephone in the room so that guests can easily contact the staff. Alternatively, a WhatsApp number could be made available. Currently, it is quite inconvenient because guests need to go down to the reception every time an issue arises. On the day I checked in, unfortunately there was a water supply disruption. The hotel management should be more prepared for situations like this or at least provide spare water so that guests do not have to face difficulties when there is a disruption in the water supply.

First time staying at Sunway Hotel Big Box, as my husband was playing golf at Senibong. We booked a Deluxe Twin Room (assigned on the 4th floor), which was nice, spacious, and clean. The air conditioning was powerful too. ”Kashmi” from reservations was very helpful in accommodating my requests. However, at night, you could hear loud music from the pub by the pool until 11pm. Also, around 2am in the middle of the night, we could hear water dripping from the air conditioner, which affected our sleep. We really loved the cozy and peaceful environment around the hotel, especially the Dona Bakery Cafe. Their pastries were delicious! We also tried the LS Chinese restaurant, which was just so-so. Nevertheless, if you need a short getaway, this is the place for you.

Nice place. Price was ok for a PH. Booked 2 days prior. They gave free breakfast. But even with no free breakfast I would still stay here again. Everyone was friendly and the lift smells nice. N Fast also unlike other hotels. Good choice Definitely recommended

I had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and very professional. The check-in process was smooth, and the famous warm DoubleTree cookie made the arrival even more pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the city. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the well-maintained facilities. The housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything spotless. The hotel location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby shopping malls, restaurants, and the CIQ checkpoint. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options and the food quality was excellent. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru to anyone visiting Johor Bahru and look forward to staying here again in the future

5mins walk to CIQ. Komta shopping mall is just opposite the hotel. Taking grab from hotel is easy. Hotel room is facing Komta shopping mall is abit noisy as there is a pub beside the hotel. Live band singing is very loud and did not stop until 12 midnight. You can’t take a quick shower as you need to have patience to adjust the hot/cold tap to the right temperature otherwise you may get “burnt” from the hot water. We managed the water technique as we stayed the hotel for 2 nights. Hotel bed is comfy and the staff is very nice and helpful.

This hotel is located right on the Johor Strait, and from my room, I had a great view of the bridge connecting Malaysia and Singapore. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was also excellent and plentiful. It's a grand hotel with a impressive feel, yet it's very well-managed. A tall young man at the front desk was particularly helpful; he even spoke Chinese, which made communication very smooth. Since the hotel is quite large, I wasn't sure where to park, and he personally escorted me to the parking lot behind the hotel. That was a really thoughtful gesture, and I'd like to express my gratitude to him here!
