The stay was ok. Our 2nd time staying at this hotel. Except there is this 2 separation of tower 1 and tower 2. Tower 2 is abit far me. I didn't book hotel w breakfast. So we tried the buffet breakfast on our last day. Which is delicious!
Just a few things to complain. Room is close to the water heating fan thing. It gets noisy.
If other ppl were to use the toilet. We can hear the toilet pipe running, which is loud too.
Aircon cannot self adjust. It only regulates when the room gets abit warm. Ofcz the room qr code gives an option to get someone to come n service. But personally I feel is inconvenient, especially when it happens at night.
The first time we enter the room. I smell cigarette in the bathroom but very faint.
If given an option to come stay again. Choose a room from tower 1. I cannot walk far.

Stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru for a short visit. The room itself was acceptable and reasonably comfortable, though the carpet felt rather worn and could benefit from a deeper clean. The view from the room was pleasant and a definite highlight. Breakfast was very crowded during peak hours; however, the team did a commendable job replenishing the buffet swiftly. That said, the overall taste and selection were fairly average. It would be much appreciated if brewed coffee from a proper coffee machine were available instead of coffee from an urn. The hotel’s location is excellent and highly convenient, which remains its strongest advantage. Special mention to Khan and Sazzad for their excellent hospitality at the Reception.
I chose Opero Hotel Southkey for my recent trip to Johor Bahru, and I was very satisfied with the overall experience. It's a hotel with excellent value for money.
📍 The location is incredibly convenient:
The hotel is right next to Mid Valley Southkey Mall, just a few minutes' walk downstairs. Eating, shopping, and buying things are completely hassle-free, making it perfect for short trips or weekend getaways.
🛏️ Room Experience:
The room was clean, with a simple and modern design. The bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night.
The bathroom had stable water pressure and plenty of hot water. The overall maintenance was excellent; it didn't feel like an old hotel at all.
🍽️ Full Marks for Lifestyle Convenience:
* The mall offers a huge variety (restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, massage, beauty products – you name it).
* It's super convenient for late-night snacks, coffee, or buying daily necessities.
* No need to take a special taxi to the city center; you can still have a great time.
🚗 Transportation & Getting Around:
* From Singapore, you can take a Grab directly after clearing CIQ.
* The hotel has parking spaces, so it's convenient if you're driving.
* Taking a taxi to the city center, KSL, or City Square is also a short ride.
💬 Service Experience:
The front desk staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth.
Responses to questions were quick, which was reassuring.
✨ In summary:
If you're looking for a clean, quiet, super convenient hotel near a mall in Johor Bahru, you really can't go wrong with Opero Hotel Southkey. The breakfast was delicious too.
It's suitable for couples, friends, or short weekend stays. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit to JB 👍

Okay, Fives is definitely not a five-star hotel, but honestly, the location, price, and staff more than make up for it. Pros: Price is shiok — especially if you book a few weeks in advance. Your wallet confirm happy. Location solid — Yes, it’s a few hundred metres further than the big-name hotels, but still right opposite Komtar JBCC. Just cross the road and you’re there lor. Staff all very steady — Always cheerful and polite. Stayed here more than three times already, and every time feels like coming home (minus the nagging from mum). Facilities okay one — No pool, but got a big, comfy lobby where you can nua while waiting for your Grab. Best part? Got a huge convenience store inside the lobby that opens till 2am. Supper crisis solved lah. Cons: No pool lor. So if you wanna float around in a bikini, go somewhere else. Never tried the breakfast spread, so cannot comment. Maybe nice, maybe meh. Other notes: Rooms are small-small one, and while they look clean, maybe don’t go CSI mode and inspect too closely. Not a dealbreaker though — just manage your expectations. Verdict: If you’re in JB for one or two nights, and you just want a good location, great price, and no-frills stay, this one is perfect.

The environment here is beautiful, it's just a shame the swimming pool upstairs is a bit damaged. If that could be fixed, it would be absolutely perfect. The security is also very professional, with security guards patrolling 24 hours a day.
Bad:
The housekeeping staff isn't adequately trained; they definitely need more education! When we first entered our room, the shower room door was locked. We immediately went to the lobby to speak with the front desk. Thankfully, they communicated quickly, and a male cleaning staff member came to our room right away. He eventually managed to open the shower room with a key, but he didn't seem familiar with how the water heater worked, just randomly turning knobs to try and adjust the water pressure and temperature for us.
Every night, the shower water wasn't hot enough, wasn't consistent, and the water pressure was too low. On our last night, we bravely tried turning all the knobs ourselves and were finally able to adjust the water pressure and temperature separately, though there was only a slight difference.
Housekeeping threw away our toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hand soap that we had placed next to the sink. 😡 They also carelessly placed our pajamas and sleepwear on top of our closed suitcase! 😡😡😡 Our suitcase travels across states and provinces on flights, so the exterior has a lot of bacteria! How can housekeeping have absolutely no sense of hygiene? This made us extremely angry!!!
**The water dispenser in the lobby frequently had a 'cannot refill' sign, often running out of water or hot water.**
**You definitely need to use Grab for transportation.**
**The Wi-Fi was very slow and unstable; even simple paperwork was impossible.**
Good:
Overall, the hotel is new and clean, with some snacks available in the lobby.
The room space is adequate.
The lobby and exterior look good.
The front desk staff was efficient and communicative, which was good.
They provided small travel-sized shampoo and shower gel daily.
They also provided toothbrushes and small travel-sized toothpaste daily.
There are many restaurants and massage places nearby. A KFC and AEON supermarket are just a 10-minute walk away.
There's a small area in the hallway for ironing clothes.

Spacious room and great value for money. Great location too. All is good if you're not a picky person. Wardrobe furniture is a little bit run down. Indoor Swimming pool is big and spacious. Buffet breakfast is great. For the price I have no complaints and will come again.

I and my hubby stayed at 16 floor, sea view and city view. Nice view from my room.
Everything is good. Except : there is no power point at coffee service table. I have to bring the kettle to another power point to boil the water for coffee.
Air-conditioning has abit of noise when comes to low temperature and fan power. Could have bathrobe would be better.
Private bathroom, the glass door is not tight enough when close . Water will flow out and the whole toilet is “ flooded “.
There is no bathroom tissues. If provides would be very nice. No face towel, if can provide will be perfect .
Coffee bag is nice when make with half cup of water.
Staffs are very helpful and friendly.
Will come again if going JB. And I also recommend to my friends and relatives once I came back SG.
Hopefully, what I have mentioned above, next trip will see the difference.

I stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru and had a great experience. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to City Square, which made getting around very easy. The king-size bed was super comfortable—I had a wonderful night’s sleep. The shower was also excellent, with good water pressure and a relaxing feel.
They also offer their signature warm welcome cookies. I didn’t get them on the evening of check-in, but I collected them the next morning, and they were still warm and delicious. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

We’ve stayed here previously but this is the worst 2-nights stay in the old wing of Grand Paragon! The housekeeping staff did not clean the dusty fabric headboard which I had to do so with it’s layers of dust. There were missing glass tumbler, slippers, tissue paper & the safe-box was locked, too. The shower curtains were too short so water tends to spill out. We were given 1 extra pillow when we requested for extra 2 pillows as it was too flat. Their excuse was that it was the hotel’s policy even though the hotel was half empty! Housekeeping did not clean our room even with the Clean-up sign on our door on the 2nd day. Reception was informed of it in the evening when we came back to our room. They had the audacity to say that we were going to check-out the next day (3rd day), anyway! We had 2 full dust-bin of rubbish, no shampoo, bath gel, bath towels, hand towels, wc paper, etc & we desperately needed to take a shower. Eventually Housekeeping brought the items & meekly apologise that he was the Evening Shift staff. We understood his situation, thank & tip him for his assistance. The next day, we tried the gym. It’s windows had dust streaks & were very dirty, too. Some of the exercising seats were cracked & uncomfortable.
Breakfast was nice at the cafe with freshly ground coffee, Nasi lemak, noodles & fresh bread. Avoid the ones in the coffee/tea pots as it’s diluted and tasted unfresh. The staff were quite friendly.
Stay here, if you can over-look this dirty environment.

KKhairul DanishLoved our stay at Fraser Place, especially the beautiful view from the room. The breakfast was awesome — we stayed for 3 nights and the menu changed every day, so we never felt bored. My kids especially loved the bathtub, which is something many hotels don’t have nowadays. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for our family.
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is conveniently located just 160 meters, a 5-minute walk, from Aeon Mall Bukit Indah, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and spas. Sutera Mall is also easily accessible by car. Legoland and Hello Kitty Town are only about a 10-15 minute drive away, and there's even a direct bus service to Singapore.
SsakiiiiiinahMagical mornings and sunsets, will definitely stay again. The dinner set could have been better, it was clearly indicated that a main, soup, drink and dessert would be about 35rm nett, but when we enquired, they said we had to add on for the dessert. It was clearly stated but i didn't feel like arguing because the food wasn't very great so I just left.
The receptionist and everyone else was good, breakfast was okay, no other complaints aside from the above.
NNHTDSgoeswhereWe had a total of 9 pax (4 adults, 5kids) and we took the 4 bedroom apartment. 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms. We got the one on 45th floor. If ur afraid of heights like i am, the room we got is facing the causeway. So it wasnt that bad. The apartment is clean and feels very homey. The only downside as usual is the internet connection bcos its very near sg so ur internet will be back and forth with sg connection. TV has youtube and netflix. But no local channels. Below has mamak shop, minimart and laundry. We had a wonderful stay the kids didnt want to go home.
JJACRamWe checked in for my son’s 10th birthday and the hotel was very generous in preparing a surprise decoration and complimentary cake. As for the room, we booked a triple bed room for my family of 4, and it is very spacious. The hotel is near to many eateries and a market so you can easily grab a food/important items outside. The rate includes a buffet breakfast for 4 and price for total of 2 nights is very reasonable, $280sgd, booked from Trip.
Lastly, they provide shuttle bus to the beach and to waterpark so it’s a plus point.
JJaymie SooThe good:
comfortable bed, decent cleanliness, working aircon, game console was cool, nice view at #48.
The bad:
Host expect you to contact them on the day else no sound no pic.
Sent a series of pictures and videos, shock to see they asked for deposit and my passport photo as part of their requirements. I’m not comfortable with that.
Drivers beware: This unit located at B1-2 is damn troublesome. I had to park outside the gantry and walked all the way to the end of the building (approx 200m one way) to get the card. The guard weren’t familiar with such arrangement had to call another guard over to assist in order to let me into the mailroom to retrieve the access card.
After that had to walk all the way back again to the entrance. When I drove to the gantry, the access card didn’t work, guard had to come over again to assist. End up found out it’s because the previous user did not “tap out” so we can’t “tap in”.
The wayfinding in the carpark is worse ever. Don’t know where to go up, don’t know where to exit. Turn round and round the entire carpark to find and realised it’s in the middle of nowhere.
Now for the accommodation itself, it’s decent. Towels were provided. No toothbrush provided but 8 combs provided instead (pic). The cups were damn disgusting (pic).
Overall will not return as the carpark and checkin experience was really a huge turnoff.
SSchwarzmaSmall hotel located near a bunch of food, basic needs and hobby stores no less. Aircon was cold, water heater worked while shampoo, shower cap and dental kits provided. Hotel looks pretty old in some corner and the room floor looked a little dirty but was not sticky. Good if ur just looking for a place to crash but don't expect luxury. Overall a comfy and quiet place to stay
NNeil NicholasMe and my wife had a lovely couple get away and we have to say that we were met by awesome staffs! From the time we got off the car the front concierge / security gave us warm welcome.
The front desk by the name of Mr Nicholas Raj served us professionally and also showered us with warm smiles and attitude.
The room was spacious and soundproof enough plus all the amenities for the room was sufficient. TV and all the channels to entertain us though maybe a Netflix would be amazing hahaha.
There was even shuttle service but do take note you need to register with the ground floor and only at certain timings.
Only downside is that the SKS mall is still not open but if you need to eat there are in house restaurant and room service as well. Though we opted to venture outside and there were 24hrs food available as well.
Swimming pool is of a decent size with towels available, the gym is also enough to pump you up with you need it.
Breakfast buffet at the Daily Social is with just enough spread / variety with staffs very attentive to their surroundings too.
Overall I would come to stay again . Thank you Sheraton

MMyanleeI was quite surprised by this hotel. I booked a room for 4 adults, and it had two levels: upstairs there were two queen-sized beds, and downstairs there was also a single bed. The design was quite appealing. The only downside was that some items were showing some wear and tear.
