The hotel is nice and the room was clean (except for the long black hair left all over floor in the bathroom). The breakfast is just a sandwich box, there is no coffee (just instant coffee). I would expect better. The staff is not accommodating and never seems to be in a good mood. I was also asked several times to pre-check online. After the third email reminder, I tried and the system didn’t let me complete it. But you can be sure that when I showed up at the reception that is the first thing they asked. Why don’t you have a QR code? Also, they charge you for lockers. I have never been in an hotel where luggage storage wasn’t complementary. The experience could be different if they improve a few things.

This was my first stay at this hotel. It's conveniently located near the station and an outlet mall, about a 5-10 minute walk away, mostly on flat ground. However, there aren't many convenience stores nearby; the closest option is a supermarket that's open until 11 PM, which is quite handy. Upon check-in, the front desk informed us that check-in was between 11 AM and 3 PM, but we could already hear vacuuming noises as early as 9:30 AM. **Room:** The room was quite cramped, barely allowing enough space to open two 28-inch suitcases. The bathroom had good ventilation and was very clean. The soundproofing, however, could be improved. We could clearly hear people walking or talking in the corridor, and even the cleaning staff when they were on the same floor. The TV remote control was quite dusty, and the reception between the remote and the TV was poor. The air conditioning unit was located above the bed and was reasonably quiet. The hallways had low ceilings and were quite dim. **Local Area/Activities:** There are numerous restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is also accessible with about a 20-minute walk. **Safety:** I had some concerns regarding safety. The public bath could be accessed without a card, and the doors to both the men's and women's baths were frequently left open. **Walkability:** A supermarket is conveniently located about 5 minutes away on foot. Kurashiki Station is a 5-8 minute walk, and it's easily accessible not only by road but also via a connecting pedestrian bridge, which is very convenient. Ario Kurashiki and Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki are both within a 10-minute walk. **Dining:** There's a dining area located on the lobby floor, and breakfast can be purchased separately. Snacks and drinks are available for ¥200 each. Additionally, near the front desk, there's a self-service area offering daily essentials and green tea powder. **Important Notes:** The large public bath is not a natural hot spring (onsen). The changing room is quite small, with only about 10-12 lockers, 3 vanity stations, and 4 shower stalls. The shower water pressure was a bit low, and the water temperature was inconsistent. The bath itself was also quite shallow. It is open 24 hours. There is one massage chair available for guest use. There's only one elevator, which is not very spacious, leading to longer waiting times. Rooms only have two door hanger options: 'refill towel' or 'please clean,' which must be placed outside the door before 11 AM for service. Self-service laundry and drying facilities are available.

The room was quite spacious and clean, and the location was convenient, close to Korakuen. The bread at the front desk was delicious! The only minor issue was that they didn't proactively provide fresh towels for changing, which was a bit different from other hotels I've stayed at.

We stayed in a family room with my elderly mother, and although there were four beds, there was a living area and the space was spacious, so we were able to enjoy ourselves in the room. My mother also broke her leg a few months ago and was walking with a cane, so we asked in advance if we could borrow a wheelchair and were able to borrow one from check-in to check-out. Thanks to this, we were able to stroll around Kurashiki's beautiful streets and eat delicious sweets, which was very appreciated. The large public bath was also flat and easy for my elderly mother to use, and it felt good to be in a large public bath for the first time in a while, so we took a bath twice, once in the evening and once in the morning. My younger sister had stayed at Ivy Square on a school trip a long time ago, so she also had a nostalgic feeling about it. The plan also included breakfast, so we had breakfast, and there were Okayama specialties such as seared Spanish mackerel and mackerel sashimi lined up, so we enjoyed local gourmet food from the morning. After the meal, we ordered some take-out coffee and sat on a bench in the courtyard, enjoying a delicious coffee moment surrounded by the ivy-covered historic building. Although our stay was short, thanks to the thoughtfulness of the hotel staff, we were able to have a safe and enjoyable trip with my elderly mother. Thank you very much.

Actually, it is right next to the railway but you have to take a slight detour. I think the ecology near Niwase Station is very good. You can see super cute cormorants catching big carp. The area around the hotel is very quiet. The room is quite large, much larger than the average Japanese business hotel. There are also massage chairs and jacuzzi. It is very comfortable to soak in the massage chair after walking all day. I fell asleep in the massage chair. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic and always smiling. The hygiene is very clean. The soles of your feet are especially clean when you walk barefoot. There is a 711 nearby, but the hotel can also order meals. You have a good rest. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Traveling with our 8-year-old daughter, we were provided with a triple room. Its location is exceptionally convenient, with a dedicated walkway connecting directly to Okayama Station. The room itself was very spacious. We would have loved to try the breakfast, but as we had an early train to Takamatsu the next morning, we couldn't book it. From the smooth check-in process, it was clear this was a well-established, high-star hotel that truly prides itself on its standards.

The location is great, right in the Kurashiki shopping street, so it's super convenient for shopping and dining. The room was spacious enough for a family of three, no problem at all. Breakfast was decent. The onsen (hot spring bath) upstairs was quite nice and not crowded at all. You can also open the window a little bit in the room to air it out, which is a plus!

The location is quite remote; you won't find convenience stores or similar amenities nearby for late-night errands. It's best suited for those driving, and only really convenient if it's already on your planned route. The views are excellent, offering a wide, panoramic bridge view. It appears most, if not all, rooms face the same direction, guaranteeing this bridge view. The onsen was decent, though the outdoor bath could have been warmer. Breakfast was superb – definitely make sure to add it to your booking!

FFerfer8We are a family travelling with 3 kids so we drive a car, and factored in luggage space. 1) Vessel hotel has hands-down one of the best beds ever! We checked and realised it was a Simmons mattress so the beds really offered us deep & restful sleep!! Love this! 2) The carpark was right outside the hotel so it was super convenient not having to walk up & down diff storeys to take things from car. We returned to hotel ard 10pm on 1 night & there were no more parking lots! We’d have to park at a multi-storey building that was 12mins walk away, which wld have been v convenient. 3) The breakfast was yummy. We went in summer & enjoyed the Barazushi (Okayama special during festivals) & the rice was sweet, salty, flavourful, and delicious with prawn, eggs, eel, lotus roots (see pic). Really yummy! Try it 4) Hotel staff were very helpful! We asked for an extra luggage stand so we wldnt need to bend too low & they brought it immediately. 5) There’s a big supermarket just across the road with cheap groceries that we stocked up on for our road trip. 6) If you intend to drive, this is a highly recommend hotel in Kurashiki!! Wld stay here again! It was great!

SSiren500It's hard to describe... 1. The facilities are old. In addition to the two sockets on the table, there is one at the door of the toilet, and the main point is that you forget to take it away. They sell everything under the concept of environmental protection, water is 100, various vending machines, and toothbrushes and toothpaste are taken downstairs. 2. The bathroom bar is definitely cleaner than in China, maybe because it's old. Anyway, the table and bedspread look a bit uncomfortable. I ordered a big bed, and the bedspread made my butt itch after using it for a while 3. It's far away from Okayama, 20 minutes walk, mainly because the road is bumpy all the way there, it's really not friendly to pull a big suitcase. From the hotel to the nearby dining place is basically equivalent to walking back to the station. Even the convenience store is less than 10 minutes away, which is definitely not the distance to buy water in slippers and coats. 4. I spent a long time looking for the name when I checked in, and I met a wave of business meeting guests. Who said Japan is quiet? If it's a good place, it includes breakfast, and the variety is quite rich. Early in the morning, curry rice, French bread and coffee...

LLvxingdeabeibeiI previously stayed at Hotel JAL City Kokura and was quite impressed with JR West's hotels, so I booked a room at their Okayama location directly. After getting off the Shinkansen, I headed in the opposite direction of Kokura Castle (I think it was the Sports Park exit, I've forgotten a bit, but definitely the opposite direction). Once I saw GU, I took the elevator straight up to the lobby to check in. Since I was going to Kurashiki, I dropped off my luggage at the front desk beforehand. I returned in the evening to check in. The room was newer than the one in Kokura, but significantly smaller. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hotel to Okayama Castle; basically, you just walk straight down Momotaro Avenue from the station. I took the tram back. Here, you can pick up toiletries in the lobby, but no drinking water is provided in the room. This wasn't a big issue though, as there are several convenience stores and small supermarkets downstairs, and if you walk a bit further, you can even explore Aeon and Takashimaya.

JJdadublinGreat location, next to train station and ferry terminals. Very welcoming and helpful reception staff. I stayed in a cabin, and it was fine for an overnight stop. The bed was comfortable. The common area has a microwave, fridge, kettles, a selection of teas that you can make in a pot, bottled water and complementary treats. The hotel offered a free voucher for a nearby onsen, which looked lovely, but I did not visit it. The hotel also stored my luggage after checkout while I visited Naoshima. It's a little pricey for a cabin, but I was very happy with my stay.
