It is important to understand that the Juxiange Inn is a “homestay” rather than a hotel. It is more akin to staying in someone’s spare guest room than in a hotel. That said, the service is wonderful! The Proprietor picked us up from the train station in his car, then from outside the wall of the Ancient city, used his little transfer vehicle to take us to the inn. He provided us with a map and pointed out the must see sights. He also provided us with a VIP coupon (20% discount) to a very delicious restaurant…so delicious that I ate three meals there! Pingyao Ancient City is truly ancient, rather than reconstructed. There are many small museums, all of which are free if you are 60 years old or older! The Confucian Temple is quite interesting, with it’s strong emphasis on historical education. The Taoist Temples were also quite interesting with their depictions of punishment for evildoers and shrines to honor the God of wealth as well as the Goddess who provides children. Definitely leave yourself plenty of time to visit the Ma Mansion which is very close to the inn. The structure is vast, full of interesting artifacts, and has a whole series of linked rooftop pavilions.

When traveling to Yuncheng, I chose Weiyuan Hotel, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel is right across from the airport, within walking distance, and offers free shuttle service to/from the airport and high-speed rail station. The room facilities are new, the bedding is soft, and there's a large projector. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. The buffet breakfast offers a rich variety, and the front desk staff warmly provided souvenirs. It's convenient for dining and shopping nearby. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Yuncheng!

During the Chinese New Year, I chose this hotel for my family and it was my second time staying here. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and has an antique charm. It's located within the ancient city walls, very close to all the attractions. Just a few steps from the hotel, you'll find Huayan Temple and Chunyang Palace. There's a church next to the hotel, and walking through its courtyard leads you straight to the Nine-Dragon Wall and Daiwang Mansion. For dining, the hotel is also conveniently close to popular spots like Xidao Noodle, Fenglin Pavilion, Laochai Sliced Noodles, Zini, and Longjuxiang, making meals very accessible. The hotel owner was incredibly welcoming; she even brought an additional staff member to help us with our luggage, fearing we had too much. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay at this hotel over the New Year.

Awesome! 👍🏻 We arrived late by high-speed train, and the owner drove directly to the station to pick us up. All the restaurants in the ancient city were closed, so the owner lent us his electric tricycle to go eat outside the city. Riding that little vehicle through the ancient city at night was truly a special experience, haha. As for the room, it had everything we needed, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The large kang bed was quite unique, and even the mouthwash cups were disposable. Since it was the off-season, the owner even upgraded our room. Although the wallpaper was a bit peeling, it didn't affect our stay at all. Moreover, right outside the inn is the owner's own travel photography studio. I'm so glad I didn't book one of those trendy shops recommended online in advance. The photo shoot here was absolutely fantastic 💖. The makeup artist was very gentle and recommended suitable hairstyles and makeup based on my face shape. I loved the photos, and there was absolutely no pressure during the selection process – completely voluntary. A perfect ancient city experience, I'll definitely recommend it to my friends!

The room types are varied, and the main thing is that the front desk lady's attitude and service were excellent. The value for money is also good, located near Parkson with a shopping mall, making it easy to get a taxi. It would be even better if the hygiene could be improved a bit. I'll definitely visit again if I need to next time.

Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me.

Even though the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, the service and food are absolutely on point! The breakfast was the absolute highlight! Seriously, you're missing out by not promoting it more! The knife-cut noodles (better than any chain restaurant – get the original flavor, trust me!) are a must-try. The tofu vermicelli, kuailai (a local dish), and lamb offal vermicelli are all pretty much on par with what you'd find at good to excellent local restaurants. All the side dishes are quite refined and the ingredients are top-notch. For example, the stir-fried bok choy had very few stems and was incredibly tender! The broccoli and baby corn were also very refreshing! The variety is excellent, with both Chinese and Western options, as well as local specialties. Noodles are made fresh on the spot. It really met my expectations for a high-end hotel breakfast. Facilities: It's an older hotel, so the facilities are indeed a bit dated. Cleanliness: I prefer to wipe things down with my own wipes, but it all seemed pretty clean. Environment: Close to the ancient city and Parkson (a department store), the surroundings are nice, but room soundproofing is just okay. Service: Warm and attentive. Single bathhouse ticket: A Northern-style public bath. Late-night congee service: Didn't try it, no delivery available.

The room was great, with a separate toilet, shower, and sink area, which was very convenient. The service was superb; as soon as we entered, the front desk offered hot tea, and after checking in, they even escorted us to the elevator. The breakfast was delicious and exactly to our liking. Our room originally came with two breakfast coupons, but because we had a child, they kindly provided an extra one. This was incredibly thoughtful for us traveling with family. The hotel also helps with purchasing tickets for the 'Encore Pingyao' show, and at a discount too!

The Wanghelou Hotel near Hukou Waterfall is truly a hidden gem, and the experience far exceeded our expectations! It's super close to the Hukou Scenic Area, and they even have EV charging stations downstairs, which was incredibly convenient for our electric car – no range anxiety at all. The hotel facilities are also excellent. They have underfloor heating in winter and central air conditioning in summer, so the temperature was always perfectly comfortable. When we checked in, our room felt a bit chilly, so we called the front desk for extra blankets, and a staff member brought them up very quickly. Their response was incredibly prompt; any request we had for the front desk was resolved right away. The service throughout our stay was exceptionally thoughtful and warm. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very attentive. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean, with every detail in both the rooms and public areas being immaculate. The breakfast was also incredibly rich, with a wide variety of options and plenty to eat. It was so convenient to finish breakfast and head straight to the scenic area. Since it's in a small county near a scenic spot, I honestly didn't have very high expectations. However, this place exceeded them all – from the facilities and service to the value for money, I couldn't find a single fault. To get this level of quality at this price is truly incredible. I highly recommend it!
