Stayed here for 2 nights. I would to thank Ms Diana Zhao, Ms Lisa Wu, and Ms Sunny Ye at the front desk for going the extra mile. They expedited the check in and check out process, helped me with the carpark charges, recommended local food around the area, asked if room service was satisfactory, and highlighted some local attractions. Thanks again !

The walking street is very convenient, with lots of food, shops, and entertainment options. Food delivery is also super fast. The staff are very friendly and responsive, always ready to answer questions and even recommend cherry blossom viewing spots. The smart room is very clean and hygienic. The projector screen is huge, perfect for watching videos from your phone, and the staff even provide detailed instructions on how to set it up.

I really like this hotel, one of the best if not the best in Shiyan, the staff is really kind and helpful all rhe time, the gym and pool are really good, the food is delicious, have all kind of food in the breakfast and in buffet.
The weather was cold, and I wanted to take a bath, but the water temperature wasn't high (around 38℃ in Suizhou during winter). The water that came out had rust (see the picture; it's yellowish and quite disgusting). I contacted the front desk, and they just asked me to add more water, but that didn't solve the problem. In the morning, before I had even finished eating, the waiters started clearing plates from the table. Should I eat or not? My first experience was extremely poor, and the price was not worth it. I hope they will make improvements.

My family and I came to Wuhan for a trip, and a friend recommended this hotel. We booked a suite, and it was really spacious with two bathrooms and very clean. The hotel's location is also super convenient, right in the middle of Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, making it easy to get anywhere. The room service staff were all very welcoming. It offers great value for money and was a fantastic experience overall.

The hotel boasts a grand and elegant design. Although it opened in 2010 (and was renovated in 2020), the interior facilities are meticulously maintained and show no signs of age. The mini-bar is chargeable, but the front desk kindly provided two complimentary drink vouchers upon check-in, which was a nice touch. During my stay, there were a few minor hiccups (such as an opened bath salt from a previous guest not being replaced, and an empty lotion bottle not being refilled), but thankfully, the responses were very prompt. A special thanks to Leah at the front desk for her help! 🌹
The most delightful part of my stay was undoubtedly the Executive Lounge. It wasn't crowded, so it was quiet, and tables were cleared very quickly. The food selection was impressive. Dining there offered close-up views of the river, which was a wonderful experience. Breakfast the next day was also quite good, with a decent spread of Chinese, Western, pastries, and fruits – everything you'd expect.
Overall, both the hotel's amenities and service are excellent, living up to their expected standards. However, given its age, some facilities and items inevitably show a bit of wear and tear (like the bathtub in the room or the dining plates in the restaurant). There's still room for improvement in some minor details, but generally, it was a very good experience.

My wife and I recently visited Wuhan and stayed at the Donghu Hotel's Tingtao Building No. 2. We were immediately struck by how massive it was, surrounded by lush greenery – truly a natural oxygen bar. Strolling through what felt like a forest was incredibly enjoyable, and the beauty of East Lake was breathtaking. It's no wonder they call it Wuhan's State Guesthouse. Our room wasn't huge, but it was very clean, cozy, and odor-free. The bathroom was spacious, featuring both a shower and a bathtub. The service was top-notch; we truly felt like valued guests and had a very comfortable stay. The hotel itself is an attraction, with beautiful birdsong and fragrant flowers. It's also conveniently located near many other sights like the East Lake Greenway, Liyuan Garden, Wuhan University, the Hubei Provincial Museum, and Yellow Crane Tower. Staying at Donghu Hotel is definitely the right choice when visiting Wuhan.

We chose this hotel for our Chinese New Year trip, and it was very kid-friendly! The staff even prepared amenities for children. The lobby had a strong New Year atmosphere, and the staff were very kind to the little ones. The surrounding area has complete facilities, making it easy to take the kids out. The front desk service was also incredibly warm and welcoming, and the location is super convenient, right next to Wanda Plaza, so shopping and dining are just a stone's throw away. The hotel facilities are also comprehensive. Highly recommended!

Let's start with the positives. First, the location is good, not far from Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, and there's a snack street nearby. It's also conveniently located between two subway stations, a perfectly acceptable distance.
Regarding the environment, the hotel's exterior looks a bit ordinary, but the interior is quite nice. The room was tidy. A big plus is that there's a water dispenser in the hallway where you can grab bottled water, and the toilet paper in the room's bathroom was thick and didn't tear easily. Breakfast was decent, not just a perfunctory offering, and downstairs they even have self-service snacks and lemon tea.
The room came with a fridge and a hairdryer, and the hairdryer worked well.
Now for the downsides: at night, there was some honking from cars downstairs. The hotel seemed aware of this as they provided earplugs. Although the shower and toilet are separate, there's no place to put your clothes in the shower area. You have to grab them from near the room door to change, or else you need to put them in a bag to prevent them from getting wet.
Considering the price, I'm quite satisfied. If you're looking for more unique features, you'd probably have to pay a different price point.
I didn't take any photos of the hotel, so here are a few pictures of Wuhan instead.

This was my first visit to Country Garden Xianning, and I truly felt it's the best hotel in the area. Yet, the official photos make it look quite old and dated, which always led us to travel further to Chibi for hot springs. In actuality, both the hotel's ambiance and the room conditions far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant environment was lovely, and the breakfast was hearty. They really should consider updating their promotional images!
We were upgraded to a room with a spacious bay window. We asked a staff member for an extra duvet, and the kids absolutely loved playing on it!
The Water World is located just across the road from the hotel, with a convenient shuttle service. While the hot springs remain the main draw, they've also added a wave pool and a bubble pool. The large slide is unfortunately out of commission, but for those not keen on thrilling rides, there's still plenty to enjoy. The wave pool's waves were genuinely some of the largest I've encountered in any hotel-affiliated water park – far surpassing those at a certain family hotel newly opened in Wuhan, which charges double the price! The complimentary use of single and double swim rings is also a thoughtful touch.
Finally, I must voice my disappointment regarding the kids' activities. The male staff member in charge showed extremely poor crowd control, leading to an utterly chaotic setup. They seriously need to learn from more competent peers in the industry. For starters, the activity content itself was poorly chosen. Knowing it was a weekend and would be busy, they should have anticipated the crowd and opted for simpler, quicker, and easier-to-manage crafts – something like making a lacquer fan or a TCM sachet, which a group could finish in 5-10 minutes. Instead, they went with the most complicated activity, causing everyone to pile into the room and complain. To top it off, the early start was only announced at the last minute.
To make matters worse, they completely disregarded their own rules. Many guests complained that reservations were not honored, and people without reservations were also allowed to join. Even if we overlook the multiple booking groups, the main issue was that anyone who simply ignored the rules could just grab materials and start participating immediately. So, for an activity clearly intended for children, you'd see a family of three: the little boy making two items, his mom making one, and his dad occupying a seat as well. I've been to numerous family hotels where, during off-peak dining hours, they utilize banquet halls for activities, ensuring ample seating for parents to accompany their children at the same table. In situations with limited seating, children typically sit at the activity table while parents use small stools beside them. The priority is always to allow as many children as possible to participate simultaneously, and materials are only distributed to seated kids. I've genuinely never witnessed such disorganization where materials are handed out first, leading to a scramble for seats.
What I found most incomprehensible was this: since many parents were waiting, they had their children playing in an adjacent area. One parent controversially took all the toys, preventing other kids from playing, which naturally sparked a heated argument with other parents. The dispute lasted quite a while and escalated. I even had to interject, 'It's getting pretty intense; aren't you going to send someone to de-escalate?' The male staff member simply replied that he was too swamped with people today and wasn't going to get involved. I countered, 'By the time you're free, they might actually be physically fighting!' After a moment's thought, he made a call and summoned another staff member, but offered no guidance or handover. Consequently, the female staff member, completely unaware of the situation, ended up trying to placate a different guest who was complaining about the activity schedule. Meanwhile, the original two parents continued their shouting match for a while longer. 😂 Frankly, if they can't even monitor or control the situation, they are entirely unfit to manage kids' activities. These activities really turned into a major negative point.

SShalinda WIf you don’t speak the local language, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. It was incredibly difficult getting both on, and off the mountain “scenic area”. Some hotels in Trip reached out to us in advance to help coordinate transportation, this one does not. Your only way to contact the hotel is by calling, which isn’t feasible if you don’t speak the language. The hotel website showed that parking was available, so I thought we would be able to get there by DiDi, as long as I paid the fee to get the car into the park. This was not the case. We did see private vehicles, but I’m not sure what goes into that, but I believe 4 wheel drive is one requirement. So with our luggage, he dropped us off at the base of the mountain. It took a little while to get to the ticket office, you have to walk up several stairs and through a cobblestone market to get there, so we got nice and sweaty and uncomfortable. From there, you take a bus (ours had no underside luggage stowage) about halfway up to another stop. We had to awkwardly hold our luggage in the aisle of a full bus, while going up-hill and doing switch-backs. Everyone gets off about halfway-way up, at a station with several different buses. We asked for help and someone pointed us to the correct one. From the final bus stop up top, it was a short walk to the hotel. We figured going down would be much smoother, but after getting off the first bus, we accidentally got on the wrong one and started going back up. Overall, took us about 2.5 hours from the airport to the hotel, then just over three hours from hotel to the HSR station.
Minor descriptions for the room were inaccurate. Ours was listed as on floor 3 or 4, it was actually basement level. The hotel is in the edge of the mountain, so it still had a scenic view. The window in our room was dirty (I expected more for what we were paying). The hand soap in the bathroom was in a re-used bottle and was watered down. Listed amenities said sauna and massage room, there are neither here (nor was there an offer of other local places to go when I asked).
The breakfast food was amazing, including a hot, fresh bar with a chef making eggs and noodles. I wasn’t able to partake in the noodles one day because of the language barrier. Hotel staff was more hesitant than other places we’ve stayed in using translation tools and I felt like too much of an inconvenience in using them to ask for noodles. There is bottled water in the rooms, you can ask for more for free (they friended me via WeChat on Check-In and is largely how we communicated). There is free tea and snacks in the afternoon, the hotel was quiet so we were able to take up one of two seats that had an amazing view outside. The staff working the tea time was great and super courteous. You can hike to South Crag Palace and Nanyan Palace by foot, both are absolutely stunning.
In summary, if we were to visit the area again, I would stay at a hotel at the bottom of the mountain (not in the scenic area) and use the day exploring/getting lost on the bus. While the view was great, it simply wasn’t worth the high price and the difficulty in getting there for non-locals. If I knew a hotel in the scenic area would reach out to me in advance to assist, then I would go for it. But unfortunately, with the way Trip.com works right now, hotels have to initiate that, guests cannot. I don’t recommend this hotel for non-native speakers.

CChet and SunnyHotel was located very close to Metro and shopping street. Comfortable, clean, and quiet room with partial river view; only complaint was the window needed cleaning to give full marks for our stay. Breakfast was also very good with pleasant seating atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it for a very good value if you're touring Wuhan!
GGuest UserThis Atour hotel is truly excellent, and there were three things that particularly impressed me. Firstly, I arrived early, around 1 PM on the first day, and they immediately arranged a room for me. On the second day, they extended my check-out time until 2 PM. Secondly, I felt the original room didn't have a direct enough river view, so I specifically called the front desk, and a staff member named Xiao Lei helped me switch rooms. When I returned after dinner and a movie, the room had already been changed. Thirdly, the quality of the late-night snack was surprisingly good, exceeding my expectations. The next morning, I woke up quite late and had planned to go out for breakfast. Due to the rain, I decided to just buy something, but since I went down late, the front desk still offered two complimentary breakfasts. Upon check-out, they even gave me a souvenir. Thumbs up!
GGuest UserThe 270-degree river view room offers an unbeatable view. There's no need to splurge on an executive floor; even mid-level floors provide a nice view of the greenery. Watching the light show from 7-10 PM while enjoying a bubble bath is pure bliss! It's super close to Huangpi South Road, and I highly recommend staying here when visiting Wuhan. The only minor issue is that the riverside road can be a bit congested during peak hours, but booking a taxi in advance easily solves that problem, especially given the hotel's excellent location. The heated pool and 24-hour gym are a lifesaver after indulging in some carbs!
GGuest UserCompared to my stay at Ascott Chongqing during the Chinese New Year, this Wuhan location fell short in many aspects.
**Pros:** Located above Wanda Plaza, ample parking, in-room washer and dryer, and well-equipped facilities. The lobby also has a tea and coffee bar with to-go cups, so you can take coffee and black tea with you.
**Cons:**
1. Poor soundproofing in the room; significant traffic noise.
2. The evening staff on our check-in day had a poor attitude. In contrast, the morning staff on our check-out day was much more enthusiastic and resolved issues promptly.
3. Unreasonable holiday activity arrangements: Other guests checking in at the same time received sightseeing bus tickets. When I asked why our room didn't get them, I was told we could scan a QR code to book and didn't need tickets. I don't understand why, if the benefits are the same, they couldn't give a ticket to every room – it's just a piece of paper, if anything, it adds to the festive spirit. This kind of differential treatment feels really bad. The so-called 'Travel Warm-Heart Package' required choosing three items out of nine. This wasn't clearly stated on Ctrip, which feels a bit misleading. Even with the 'choose three' option, many items were missing. The staff even asked me to 'leave a good review, and I'll try my best to find it for you.' I don't understand this logic. Receiving the Warm-Heart Package is a right included in my booking. Does that mean if I don't leave a good review, they won't help me get it?
4. The pencil in the room was very sharp, and an elderly person cut their hand.
5. Breakfast was mediocre, not much to eat. The hot dry noodles were very salty, and there was so much soup they were more like noodle soup.
GGuest UserIt looked like a new store, so I made a reservation. The price was very reasonable and great value. There are shopping malls and supermarkets downstairs. There is a Hunan restaurant downstairs. The fried chicken tastes good. The location is easy to find. Parking is free. The lady is also very welcoming. The room The whole house is smart, Tmall Genie can control everything, and the air conditioning effect is great. I will book here next time.

GGuest UserI traveled some time ago and had a great experience staying there. I must share it! As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I was attracted by its grand and elegant appearance. As you step into the lobby, you will find it spacious and bright, with exquisite decoration and pleasant fragrance, which will instantly dispel your travel fatigue. The front desk staff was enthusiastic and efficient, checked us in quickly, and introduced the hotel facilities attentively. The room was even more stunning. The space layout is reasonable and the lighting is excellent. The bedding is soft and comfortable. Lying down feels like being wrapped in clouds. The sleep quality is excellent. The bathroom has separate wet and dry areas, and the toiletries are of high quality and full of details.
The service was first class. Whether it's helping to call a taxi or recommending local attractions, the staff are always responsive and warm and thoughtful. One time I accidentally left something behind, and the staff contacted me immediately after discovering it and kept it properly until I retrieved it. It was so heartwarming. The environment, facilities and services were impeccable in every aspect. I highly recommend it to everyone. Next time I travel, I will definitely choose here again!
GGuest UserThe room was clean and hygienic, and they offered comforting congee in the evening. I stayed in a room with a floor-to-ceiling window, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time. I stayed for two days; the breakfast was good, the room was nice, the guest service was excellent, and the facilities were even better – great value for money.
They also offer breakfast takeaway service before 7:00 AM (reservation required 1 day in advance), and a drop-off service to Wuhan Station (Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM).

KkillymikeQuanji Hotel, Xiangyang review
I spent two nights at Quanji Hotel in Xiangyang, and I left with a mix of impressions some solid wins, one or two quirks, and a sense that this place knows what travelers like me actually want after a long day of sightseeing or meetings.
First impressions
- Exterior and lobby: Modern, clean, and uncluttered. The lobby feels calm, not trying too hard to impress you, which is nice after a long train ride. The check-in process was smooth, with staff who spoke enough English to help, but not so much that you felt talked down to.
- Location: Pretty convenient depending on what you’re here for. It isn’t in the center of Xiangyang’s busiest streets, but you’re within a comfortable walk or short ride to key spots, plus there are eateries nearby that aren’t overhyped tourist traps.
Room and comfort
- The room itself was a solid 4-star vibe: tidy, well-lit, and surprisingly quiet for a hotel in what feels like a busy area. The bed was comfortable—firm enough to support a good night’s sleep but soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re lying on a board.
- Amenities: Decent desk space if you’re traveling for work, reliable Wi-Fi, and a reasonable layout. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure and a practical layout. A few small things felt a touch “budget-first” like standard toiletries and a shower curtain rather than a glass enclosure—but nothing deal-breaking.
- Cleanliness: Overall good. Housekeeping did a thorough job during my stay, and I didn’t notice any telltale corners being overlooked. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable dropping your gear and not worrying about dirt or mess.
Service
- Front desk and staff: Friendly and helpful. They stood by for recommendations on dining and local spots without turning the conversation into a sales pitch. When I asked for directions or a printout of an itinerary, they were efficient and patient.
- Housekeeping: Prompt and discreet. No intrusions at odd hours, which I appreciated.
JJchen1This hotel is extremely convenient, being very close to the airport, which made our travel much easier. At the beginning of our stay there were a few issues and we had to change rooms twice, but the customer service was excellent throughout. The staff were patient, responsive, and genuinely helpful in resolving everything quickly.
The amenities were a big plus the gym was well-equipped, and the free laundry service was very convenient. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a very good buffet offering plenty of options. Overall, despite the initial hiccups, the great service and facilities made this a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would happily stay again.
