The room was very clean, free of any odors, and the soundproofing was good. The complimentary fruit was super fresh, and the tea was aromatic. The hotel itself is huge, like staying in a forest park, with a beautiful environment. Plus, you can call a shuttle to get around to different areas. Overall, it was a very comfortable experience.

The hotel environment is great, and they offer a shuttle service to the lakeside attractions. Parking and EV charging are also very convenient. The room was very tidy and clean, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend! Will definitely come again.

Came here based on recommendations and had a very comfortable stay. The room facilities are well-maintained, and we received a complimentary fruit platter in the afternoon. The lobby offers iced lemon water and barley tea, which were great for cooling down. Getting around the park by golf cart was also very convenient. It really felt like a peaceful retreat in the midst of the hustle and bustle.

The location is excellent, with plenty of dining options nearby, and it's very convenient to get to the Hubei Provincial Museum. The accommodation is quiet, and the views of East Lake are pleasant; a stroll on the wooden boardwalk is lovely. The Mao Zedong Former Residence Memorial Hall has many precious photos and manuscripts. Will definitely stay again!

This was a truly awful experience. The lake was dirty with lots of debris. After checking in at the lobby, we took a shuttle to Tingtao No. 2. The shuttle driver took about ten minutes to show up, and I got two mosquito bites in the lobby. The toilet lid and rim in the bathroom didn't line up properly, leaving a gap, so you could easily sit in urine. The floor felt sticky during my shower. There was some kind of foreign matter on the side wall of the bathroom that clearly hadn't been cleaned in days – it was disgusting. For a 638-yuan stay, when I informed the front desk, the manager was also there but offered no compensation. This really soured my impression of the place!

After reading the comments, I booked a special-offer 'Tingtao No. 2' room on the first floor, just to try it out. To my delight, the front desk enthusiastically upgraded me to a second-floor room with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a truly pleasant view of the lush green lawn. 😃 The garden environment is full of trees and winding paths, yet you won't find swarms of mosquitoes or other insects. The lake sparkles, free of fallen leaves or debris. 👍 You can imagine the maintenance cost behind such an elegant environment. This East Lake is many times bigger and more beautiful than West Lake; it's a pity Wuhanese are so humble that its reputation hasn't surpassed West Lake's. 😃 I really appreciated the young man at the entrance who helped me arrange an electric buggy and carry my luggage. The lobby bar offered free tea for my relatives, and the garden driver shared stories with us during our tour. 👍 I feel like the environment rivals that of the Congdu Manor, and with the added beauty of East Lake, it's even better. Yet, the price is only a quarter of that! This will definitely be my top choice for future stays in Wuhan. I just hope I'll be as lucky next time to get a free upgrade, haha!

They uphold the standards and attitudes of serving Chinese and foreign dignitaries, making you feel like a VIP. It seems they aren't chasing good reviews or KPIs; they're simply focused on making you happy. **Environment:** You absolutely have to trust Chairman Mao's aesthetic taste. The variety of animals and plants living in harmony makes the natural environment a paradise for photography enthusiasts. For regular tourists, every casual snap turns into a beautiful shot. **Exclusive Access:** This hotel is part of the beautiful East Lake Ecological Scenic Area, yet it's also the hotel's private domain. This means you can wander through a beautiful and tranquil environment. We chose to stay in the relatively new Tingtao No. 2 building. There are shuttle buggies within the park that can take you to Chairman Mao's former residence for a visit. They can also drop you off at a small gate closest to the Hubei Provincial Museum, so you just cross the road and you're there, without needing any other transportation. For your return trip, you can simply have the hotel's buggy pick you up at the entrance. If you enjoy history, the Hubei Provincial Museum offers free, rich, and fascinating collections that will make you want to visit again and again. **Peace of Mind:** The dining was clean, hygienic, and abundant. We had two breakfasts and one lunch, and there wasn't a single flaw. If you're traveling with elderly family members or young children and are worried about getting an upset stomach, choosing to dine here offers delicious and reassuring options. The quality of the breakfast 'mianwo' (a local fried savory cake) and 'youtiao' (fried dough sticks) was particularly outstanding. Such simple, everyday food was prepared so well it left a lasting impression, and even the plain boiled eggs were top-quality small, local eggs. The East Lake Hotel possesses immense charm. It truly lives up to the unique advantages of a military sanatorium's chosen location. I will definitely return.

I came here specifically to visit Mao Zedong's former residence with my child. The Donghu Hotel, located within the East Lake Scenic Area, is a self-contained property. Upon arrival, staff inquire about your purpose before allowing vehicle entry, and there's a private road leading in. There's also a parking lot right at the hotel entrance, which made me feel quite secure. The service was attentive; after checking into the Nanshan B-Section Standard Room with a view that I booked, I received a complimentary fruit platter. The room itself was well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The hotel buildings each have their own unique charm, and the lush greenery makes it feel like a forest – a natural oxygen bar. From my room's balcony, I had a view of the greenway and the shimmering lake. It was raining moderately when we arrived, and I'd never seen the lake so turbulent, with waves crashing one after another. There's a dedicated shuttle bus that takes guests to the side entrance of the Hubei Provincial Museum, which is incredibly convenient as it's just a stone's throw away. After exploring the museum, I simply called the front desk, and they sent the shuttle to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel. My only regret is that due to the rain, I couldn't take a walk on the greenway to enjoy the scenery; I only managed a brief glimpse. I'll definitely come back with my child next time to experience the unique landscape again.
