Stunning location, a little far from the main parts of Phuket but it’s perfect to either escape the noise or ease yourself into the chaos that’ll unfold. It’s not The Ritz so don’t expect anything more than what you paid for but everything is clean and well put together, there’s no reception area everything happens at the bar which I found charming! So worth it

The hotel front desk has a very bad attitude and cannot communicate in English. The room is also bad. The toilet is alone outside. You need to go down the steps. There is sand under the steps. Your shoes are very dirty when you lie down in the toilet. There were still chickens outside. They started crowing early in the morning. When I woke up, I thought I was living in a chicken pen.

The atmosphere is very good. The sea view is very beautiful. Located near the airport, very convenient. Anyone looking for a place to stay with a good view and a chill atmosphere must come here. Traveling is very easy, thinking about Mai Khao Beach, the atmosphere is very private.

Good atmosphere, very personal, but the food is as expensive as the price of foreigners.

This place has the wow factor! Despite having basic facilities, it is comfortable and clean in a beach location that is stunning, amazing, quiet, relaxing, chilling…..need I go on! It is positioned between posh hotels, yet has much more charm and authenticity. There is full access to the entire beach for miles. The chickens roaming around and the beach massage huts give a special charm of ‘Old Thailand’. Food is available in the outside restaurant and while choice is limited, it is tasty and cheap. Perhaps fruit at breakfast would help. Staff are friendly, not gushy, but efficient and helpful. We moved on to other busier parts of the island and to more modern hotels but regretted that we hadn’t stayed longer at Micky Monkey. Def. one of the nicest places I’m ever likely to visit. Very affordable and excellent value for money. I’d thoroughly recommend the beach villa/ bungalow. It’s not a campsite by any means!

Beautiful beach front property. Great location to decompress. Beautiful location and very chilled. Great, friendly staff. We chose to stay in the traditional pbamboo hut and it was everything we wanted. Although small it has everything you need, kettle, air conditioning and comfy bed. If this is too basic for you there are beautiful bungalows which also have everything you need. This place is a hidden gem 💎 highly recommend.

There is a photo uploaded of a bed with hanging curtain and a direct view of the beach. In reality it's nothing at all like this, the wooden cabins have since had smaller cabins built in front of them, obscuring their view from the beach, and even between the rooms and the beach is a great big chicken wire fence, that is not shown in any photos. The restaurant area has no billiards table, another thing that is untrue and in photos online. And there are chickens everywhere that make noise throughout the night, and roosters on-site that call at 4am sunrise. Despite all this, the access to the beach makes it worth the stay. The beach is very, very quiet and the sunsets there are the best I've ever seen. Inside the rooms themselves is very nice, they have done a great job with decor and paint, we stayed during our anniversary and they arranged towel swans on the bed, excellent thought gone into the service. Would recommend a 1-night stay here on your way to the airport at the end of your trip, the beach sunset is honestly unforgettable.

While driving in and around Mai Khao beach district you will notice gorilla face advertising everywhere. We pass Micky Monkey daily when we stay in Phuket, so after 3 years we finally took the plunge . As with other reviews we too found the staff stand offish but warmed up after the initial contact. Micky's is located on Mai Khao beach, with chickens and their chicks roaming freely around the eclectic furniture during the day. We found the food to be average not sure if this was due to low season and not much food on hand, which is what we hope. We ordered mini spring rolls and chicken wings. Presentation was on point. The spring rolls were warm but the wings were very hot. Clearly the kitchen timing was off. We moved closer to the beach with beers in hand to watch the sunset. Food & drinks are very affordable 600Bht = $25 AUD. We will give this family restaurant another go. ** Side note Micky Monkey featured on "Travels with my father" tv show, worth a view.

We stayed at the Renaissance next door so can't comment on the accommodation. What I would like to review is the food and drinks. Initially we found the staff a little surly , but a few smiles and compliments about the food seemed to make a difference. We found the food to be very good. We tried most of the dishes including their club sandwich , which I found to be one of the best club sandwiches I've tasted! The Thai dishes were outstanding, the Tom Yum soup was the best I've ever had. The chicken with cashews, shrimp dishes, pineapple fried rice and pad Thai were very tasty, all at very reasonable prices. The watermelon drinks, coconut juice were col and delicious, as were all the cocktails which were half the price of our hotels. Then there's the location with stunning views of the sunsets. By the end of our holiday the staff were friendly and pleased to serve us.

We only had sunset beach drinks but it was a lovely spot for that. Unfortunately after new year, they were out of rum but there was plenty of cocktail choice and they made a mean margarita! Lovely views and friendly staff. Made a nice change from the fancy bars and restaurants at the nearby resort hotels.

After spending 10 days traveling around sight seeing, Mickys Monkey Beach is the perfect way to relax, take it easy, be together, enjoy nature and much more. Service is great as well as the staff. Truly a gem! A needle in a hay stack was found. And we will visit again

Unfortunately we didn’t stay for dinner as planned as the sullen bar girls clearly totally uninterested in their job. Shame as nice location for sunset 🌅 . Also the fire brazier so smokey that everyone’s clothes smells. Could be really pleasant.

Stayed 2 nights in the Villa. Very basic, budget accommodation, but facilities were very clean, new linen, tiles & freshly painted. Simple food freshly prepared, nice reasonably priced drinks. Right on the beachfront to enjoy magnificent sunsets. This is by no means 5 star, but for the price it was a great little spot to spend a couple of nights as part of our Thai adventure.

The booking was made with beautiful photos of the cottages, which are also available for rent. We obviously rent an old bamboo hut for a whopping US$70 per night. When checking in we are asked if we want AC. So no AC booked? Improvements will be made at an additional cost. Afterwards a hut with an area of no less than 6 m2 (2.5 m x 2.5 m) is allocated. Next to the bed there is 60 cm of space on just 2 sides. No table, no chair, nothing to hang up. Where and what did we book? We were dazzled by the location by the sea. In fact, the 5 bamboo bungalows are only 30 meters from the long sandy beach. That's great. Otherwise, the Micky Monkey Beach complex is very remote next to hotels that are 3-4 times as expensive. There is - at least - a small promenade with stalls, and there is no Thai street food restaurant. lull.
