This hotel was a pleasant surprise. It is located in south Mumbai and very close to tourist spots. The rooms are clean and quiet. We had room service, with clean sheets and towels, everyday for our 15 days stay. They also provided free 1L water bottles (2x) every day! What we most appreciated was the peace and quite from road noise. The AC worked well, there was good water pressure and hot water on de***d, which can be an issue in some Indian hotels. We also visited their rooftop restaurant which has an awesome view of south Mumbai. The food was delicious too. The room included breakfast which was mostly Indian cuisine which we did'nt care for, however, they were very accommodating and would prepare fresh eggs in any ***ner we chose. The ***ager at the restaurant, Edwin Daniel, was most helpful, professional and a pleasure to talk with. Overall our stay at the Godwin Hotel was very comfortable and we would highly recommend it.

A beautiful faded old lady with a bucket load of charm. Not my first time staying here, I stayed here I think about 12 years ago. Nothing much has changed. We stayed in a large room, seriously huge with the most gorgeous balcony looking over the street. The bed was very comfortable, linens and towels clean. The bathroom was just outside the room, it honestly wasn’t an issue and to get the best balcony it was a compromise. We arrived on a flight from Europe at 2 am and the staff could not have been more helpful. We had a kettle, tea coffee and milk as well as water ( paid ) instantly available. To be honest you can’t beat the location it’s just fabulous

What a lovely find, we stayed for 1 night recently, arriving early evening so when we opened the blinds in the morning to the sun rising over the sea it was an amazing view. Yes the rooms are small, but very well appointed with a clean and spacious shower. We had dinner up on the roof top and it was the best food we'd had whilst we had been in India. The service was also great. Breakfast was a little basic but fine for what we needed. When you arrive you do think it looks a shabby hotel, but once you go up to the third floor, you find a little gem. Thank you for all of the help printing our boarding passes etc.
The Gordon House Hotel, Colaba

The Gordon House hotel is well situated in the main tourist area, Coloba. It is a short walk from the Gateway of India, and just behind the Taj Hotel (which I believe charges a little bit more for it’s rooms). Our room was on the 3rd floor and was a reasonable size for a city hotel. It was however let down somewhat by the lack of any view from the window (when we opened the blinds all we could see were a stack of air conditioning units) and a very small bathroom. The staff were all very friendly and provided us with very good service. The issue of the noise from the bar on the first floor or the building has been mentioned in ***y other reviews of this property. In our third floor room we were certainly aware of the noise and the vibrations it caused. It did not stop us from sleeping, but we can appreciate that people in rooms on the 2nd floor or who are light sleepers might well find it a problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Gordon House hotel and we would consider staying there again if we ever return to Mumbai (but not on the 2nd floor).

It is already the second time to stay, quiet in the middle of noisy, surrounded by slums! It is very convenient to eat, there is a very small hotel. It is also very close to the India Gate. It is a very good place to travel and the price is very good!
