Hotels near Male International Airport, Malé

Overall, our stay was unpleasant. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out. When we entered the hotel they essentially made us feel that we were unwelcomed. No smile, no hello, nothing! I have never experienced this level of hospitality in my lifetime. Room size We had booked a ”Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and Sea View” (booked almost 1.5 months before) and it was supposed to be one of the best rooms in this hotel (2nd best to be precise). The room was tiny and couldn't even accommodate our luggage. Bed size It was supposed to be a ”large double bed” but it was tiny that we couldn't sleep well. We had 5 years old - already mentioned while booking. They could have simply rejected our booking by saying that the bed would not accommodate a kid. Bathroom and accessories It was again very small. There was nothing. No hand towel, soap, toothbrush, or sleepers. There was a shower gel and a shampoo. And some tiny lizards in the bathroom which was scary for my kid to use the washroom. I must mention that one of the staff was helpful in getting rid of one of those lizards we encountered and I had to shoo the rest of them away by myself. Pricing on Booking.com We paid 336$ for two nights on booking dot com and expected better rooms and services but the actual room cost which I got to know at the hotel was only 80$/night which explains why the services were not great. Booking dot com definitely fleeced us. You can directly reach out to the hotel to book the room if you're interested. Also, we had planned to spend two days in the city to explore after spending a few days on a private island. Though one day was enough to explore the city! Overall, it is a 2-star hotel and not recommended for a family. Good for solo travellers for a short stay (not more than a night). I would not recommend this hotel to a couple! The only positives were the sea view from the room and the location.

We stayed here for one night before flying out. It was a very good stay. No frills, just what was needed for a transit stay. The room was clean, amenities were good, the included breakfast was great and the fact that they included one-way airport transport was a bonus. They were also flexible with check-in (possibly a factor being we travelled during non peak months). The one downside, if it matters, is that the property is not beach-facing. Though it's a 2 minute walk away. The locality itself is fabulous. The beach is great, a public park (with skate ramp!) is nearby, and there are several options for restaurants. It's a good budget pick for a hotel for a one-night (or more) stay. I'd certainly stay in Hulhumale again rather than the more crowded Male!

The hotel is right next to the beach, gorgeous sea view from the room. The hotel staff Amy, was friendly and ever ready to give the best recommendation for a few hour walk in male, from shopping to where to shop for souvenirs and she also recommended us to take a short ferry to villemale which only cost less than $1 to and fro from Male jetty to the island. Great advice that just keep our time worth staying in Amber beach hotel.

advantage: The price is cheap, the location is excellent, not far from the airport, there is a free pick-up and drop-off, including breakfast. The staff are very enthusiastic, and they are very professional about the time to go to the airport and go to the island the next day. Satisfied with the service. The best thing is that the blue sea is at the entrance of the hotel, and the water will fly by for a while. There are domestic sockets in the room, which is convenient. shortcoming: The room is slightly small with simple facilities. Of course, at this price, these are not problems. Next time I come to Gunny, I will book this place

I was disappointed when i stayed at the Hotel & the experience did not meet my expectations. I stayed for 2 nights in different rooms, because of the smell from sewerage after complain they changed to another room and unfortunately the second room also same cannot breathe because of smell from sewerage. The beds were extremely hard and the television didn't work either. When I complained about television they said they check and fix it but no one came to fix it. Hot water kettle was provided without tea and coffee, when I request coffee they said it’s not available.

I stayed two nights in November 2022. Hotel is in a good location in the phase 1 area of Hulhumale, many restaurants and shops nearby. Room was basic, but comfortable for the price point. Breakfast was very basic, but adequate. A/C worked well and there was hot water in the shower. The internet was wonky. It usually worked, but sometimes cut out. There was a voucher system that allowed for one device at a time, and using the voucher on the reception area network prevented using that same voucher on a higher floor (where the guest rooms are) network. The front desk guys were good about issuing another voucher as necessary, but it was a hassle to go down to the reception. For those going to/from the airport, there is a bus in Male, but tourists are not encouraged to use it (it is more complicated than it needs to be--you cannot buy tickets on the bus, you must buy them at stores or the post office or download an app that only locals have). Nevertheless, there is a bus stop close to this hotel, so you don't need to use a taxi. One of the front desk workers was great with advice or any questions about Hulhumale, but the other worker was only (overly) excited about calling a taxi (I needed to tell him 3 times that I ”didn't need a taxi, stop calling it”). It is one of the more affordable hotels in Male/Hulhumale, I would stay here again. 4/5

We appreciate the booking was moved different i day due COVID, it was helpful. 🙏 Early checking was available, but needed to pay (it's a good option). Room was good,cleaning on for (your eyes) but when you touch the places dusty, not as aspect from hotel, on time (pandemic) like this, so I did clean by myself too. Restaurant was poor, food choices didn't have an option, breakfast only normal breakfast & no sausage. Order sandwich but not available for three days only I found they don’t have stock make the food & Price we paid food was not worth, my friend ask chili don’t have (it’s a basic ingredients ). Room was big, the lighting was ok, and the water speed in shower room was good. But when you ON don't disturb the sign I thought no will knock the door to clean the room, but it happens. But it’s ok, so I can get a fresh clean towel & Water. Landline was not working. I work in the hotel industry for long I aspecting service we get good also. We enjoy our privacy we both thanks.

Stayed here for 8 weeks and it was a brilliant. All the staff are very warm and welcoming and simply can't do enough for you. The rooms are very well presented and immaculate. Beach is a stone throw away aswell. Gordon the chef serves up very good food aswell. Mr Hugo is always available to sort anything out, the whole team were superb. Hope to see you all again soon

The sanitation is average, the towels are very old, the service attitude is very good, the air conditioner is cold enough, there are boiled eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee for breakfast, and the tea is generally considered sincere. It takes 19 minutes to go to the airport, which is convenient
