Everything was fine until the end. In comparison to other hotels I stayed at throughout my trip, this one is cleaner and more spacious. It's close to Tokyo Station, so it's easy to get to other areas, even if it took me quite a while to figure out their operation and routes. The hotel will be cleaned one time every three days. Though laundry services are complimentary, guests should note that detergent is not provided. While complimentary snacks were notably absent, the expansive onsen facilities and serene ambiance compensated for the oversight. However, it's worth mentioning that the onsen's operating hours are relatively limited, closing at 11 pm nightly, with only two hair dryers available. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness—ample enough to accommodate three luggage pieces comfortably. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the bathtub affording breathtaking views of the hotel's surroundings, perfect for soaking in the beauty of sunrise or sunset. Complete with access to YouTube and Netflix, the room provided ample entertainment options. For a delightful treat, indulge in soft-serve ice cream from the cafe adjacent to the hotel—an ideal conclusion to a day of exploration. The bed exuded comfort, while the addition of a sofa near the entrance provided a convenient spot to unwind without soiling the bedding with outdoor attire. Overall, while Ala Hotel Kyoto may lack certain amenities, its spacious accommodations, strategic location, and reasonable pricing make it a standout choice for travelers seeking tranquility and convenience in equal measure.

Easy check-in and spacious room. The entrance is hidden in a side street. There offer omplimentary bottled water and universal travel adapters were available at reception. Conveniently located above a SevenEleven as well as close to a Subway Station, Nishiki Market and a big road full of shops.

Staff Are very attentive and quick, they are able to assist you in English too if you can't communicate in Japanese. Transport is easy as it is located about 10-15 minutes away from Kyoto Station which has Shinkansen/JR trains/bus available. Given a cozy room with various options of daily cleaning (none/basic/partial/full) main difference being if you want the bathtub to be washed / bed to be made, so you can hang it by your door to notify the crew accordingly.

Had everything I need, entrance built into the station so very easy to catch your train in the morning. My walk to my room was super long though, I’d advise anyone to request a room close to the elevator.

The water in the bathroom is very weak and bathing takes a long time, which is very unpleasant. However, there is a bus stop near this hotel. It is very convenient to go to the JR station. The streets nearby are also quiet. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants. There is only a Royal Host Western restaurant. The service is very good and the food is delicious.

The location is convenient, a 15-minute walk to Kyoto Station, and opposite the AEON depar**ent store. The hotel also has free rental bicycles. If you want to take a bus to Kiyomizu Temple, Kamogawa and other scenic spots, the bus stop is near the hotel.
