Daiwa is located very near to the Kyoto station, very good for families like us with young children who probably don’t want to walk 15 mins to the train station even before the sightseeing starts. The hotel provides a lot of amenities at the lobby, from skin lotion to kids toothbrush slippers and small towel. Room was nice and clean, and I especially liked the bath shampoo and soap that the hotel provides, it does not feel like some cheap stuff and my hair is softer than before after using it! There is a Don Quinjote right around the hotel corner, and a Yodobashi store that sells everything from Can Do to restaurants at the top floor which we ate quite a few times. I also like the laundry which is both a washer and dryer with time clearly stated so I could already collect my laundry instead of going twice to put into dryer like other hotels. Checkout was super simple using the automated system. Would definitely come again!

Room was very clean and comfortable, though pillows were a bit flat.
I liked that the bathroom had a separate standing shower area and bathtub, instead of being combined like many Japan hotels tend to offer. Could do with some hooks for hanging your clothes though.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety, they even serve ice-cream.
Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located at a perfect location in Kyoto, with the Kyoto Station being 2-5 minutes away depending on walking speed. There are many eateries and restaurants around the area, and the availability of various malls such as Aeon enhanced the experience we had staying in Miyako Hotel.
Self check-in kiosks were used, and payment for foreign tax can be done seamlessly there. They have 2 different buildings in which the rooms are situated, which was unfortunate for my family as we were assigned rooms in each of the different buildings. However, the rooms were big and comfortable, and I was happy with the stay. While mineral water was not given for each day, they had a water dispenser in each level of the rooms, which made it convenient to obtain water. Vending machines are also available for those who prefer to get their own bottle of drink/mineral water. The staff were very friendly with any questions or requests and were fast with assistance for baggage storage.
The only downside could be the lack of coin washing machines in the hotel itself, and the next nearest available public coin washing machine was located about 5-7 minutes away from the hotel itself. It is not easy to find and can be quite a hassle to actually do any sort of laundry unless you are willing to pay for the in-house laundry service. Overall, it is definitely recommended to choose Miyako.

We recently spent 4 nights here and had a great experience overall. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The hotel's central location is very convenient, providing easy access to Kyoto's popular attractions.
Although the room is a bit small, it’s was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. One of the standout features of this hotel is its stunning rooftop terrace overlooking the city, which was our favorite spot to unwind and relax at the end of each day.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

This hotel has wonderful costumer services and the employees speak many languages. Right up the street there is a 7/11 store for all your snack run, there are cafe and restaurant within walking distance. The Karasuma-Oike station is literally 3-5 minutes walk. The best part is the traveler’s store that is about a 10 min walk. I been wanting to go there and finally got to visit it. This store has stationary items such as notebooks that can have you record your journey.

This is the first Chinese people after the epidemic. I am so lucky. This eucalyptus house is very warm, well-furnished, and the surrounding area is very convenient. There is a big supermarket and a hot spring car. It is also convenient to take a car. The owner of the tree house is warm and thoughtful. Zhou's private car takes us to Kiyomizu Temple. There is also a translation, highly recommended!

This time was the most serious one. I thought it didn’t matter whether it was expensive or expensive when staying in a casual and high-end hotel. Unexpectedly, except for the good service, there was no other redeeming feature in terms of hardware. First of all, the location. It's not convenient. If you want to go to a convenience store or nearby restaurants, you need to walk for more than 10 minutes. The entrance of the hotel is very hidden. When you arrived, you couldn't find the entrance after walking around twice. The hotel is small and there are basically no public facilities. There is no own parking lot, no fitness room, and no large bathing area, except for a relatively high-end restaurant. Breakfast is included, but if you want to eat better, you have to pay extra. No matter how many nights you stay, only one dinner is included. This is the first time I have seen this kind of offer, and it is not an expensive dish. If you want to eat wagyu, you need to pay extra. The price is expensive and the portion is small. The rent itself is two to three times more expensive than other hotels in Kyoto area. When you book a room on the website, there is a balcony in the photo, but when you check in, you are told that it cannot be used. The view outside the window is the sidewalk across the street. The mattress has no elasticity and the more you sleep, the more it sinks. In the Mini bar, you need everything except water and coffee. Needless to say about the fees and prices. I really want to know why they charge this rent. It feels like a money grab. I have said that I will never stay in a hotel of this group in the future

GGuest UserThe best hotel I've been to has great freebies and activities (bracelet making, free face masks, free alcohol during social hour, a free green tea parfait during afternoon tea). It is close to the station, a 10-minute walk. There is also an amazing ramen restaurant and yakitori restaurants nearby.
AAnonymous UserLocation wise just one stop from kyoto train station. Free flow drinks, private bath and public bath available. Midnight noodles & ice cream available from 9-11pm. Japanese course dinner served special menu from their chef. Buffet breakfast choices were a lot. Can store luggage before check in or after check out. Provide luggage transfer with some fees within kyoto area. Definitely worth to pay a visit to experience kyoto culture. 👍🏻
PPHYO PHYO WAI YANG YINGThis is a fantastic stay with Dusit Thani in Kyoto. We hooked 1 night since it is our last night before we returned home.
Initially we booked premeir twins room for 3 persons however, the twin beds are not spacious to share .
I feedback to the hotel manager about the concern and he suggested to upgrade to their suite room which is double the size.
He gave me a good rate with extra bed in the livingroom at additional 49,000¥, thats fantastic offer !
It is spacious, have privacy for my teenage son and their beds are super comfortable and their bath tub are spacious for two persons .
A definitely good stay to end our Japan Trip. Will stay here again
CCkyankcTitle: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations.
Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage.
The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city.
The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto.
The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.
GGuest Userhave suttle buses from the kyoto station to the hotel. and I have to say the shuttle bus driver is so welcoming and cheerful.
also convenient to go to sightseeing places by bus( around 5min walk)
but no convenient stores nearby. the closest one will be about 10min walk
YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!
WWai Yu CatherineSuper location just opposite JR Kyoto station, with a convenient store in the hotel, washer available on 2/f 3/f 4/f, and you can watch live availability on hotel TV, then you need not rush up & down between floors, also lockers available
독독락당The Pocket Hotel offers a no-frills experience at a reasonable price. The room is just large enough to accomodate the futon you are given to sleep on and a little more. For people who need a bed to sleep, I definitely would not recommend this location. That said, I would say the room has everything on might need for a good night's sleep. The air conditioner is perfectly functional, a necessity in Kyoto's sweltering summers. Additionally, the limited space definitely means that accomodating guests with gargantuan suitcases is probably not possible. The washroom, while well furnished and perfectly serviceable, is public and located outside of one's room and is accessed by the same key card as the one used for one's room. In addition, the shower, located on the first floor for men and second for women, is also public use and accessed in the same way as the washroom. That said, the showers are split into individual rooms, so I would suggest one is offered more than sufficient privacy despite its public nature. If these minor inconveniences are unacceptable for you, this hotel is not the right one for you. As for the hotel's location, the hotel is fairly well positioned to go see Kiyomizudera and is a short walk from the subway. In addition, there are a number of great restaurants in the vicinity. In particular, there is a great abundance of ramen restaurants so it could be decent location to stop by to sample a number of different bowls. Between Daikoku Ramen, Ramen Rin, Ramen Yokozuna, Ginjo Ramen Kubota, and New Taihou, I enjoyed my daily dose of noodles for sure. It is also worth noting that there is a convenience store across the street and a pharmacy a little down the street. The pharmacy is a great place to pick up 2L bottles of drinks, but be warned that they might not be refrigerated. It's also worth noting that there is a Yoshinoya, McDonald's, and Yayoi Ken nearby so if you ever feel the need for a quick meal, it can easily me solved at a moment's notice. Overall, I would say this hotel is not one to stay at for the hotel experience, but rather as an option simply have a place to rest with proper privacy.
MMuhammad Uzair FarooqBest hotel of our Japan tour - exceeded our expectations in all aspects i.e. perfect location with 300m straight line from the station, very clean and modern rooms, after check out storage was excellent and breakfast absolutely brilliant.
AAhmet ZekiDear Sir/Madam,
I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
