An amazing find! I spent three nights at the Genji and had a great time. Originally, I planned to stay at a chain hotel, but this was so much better. The hotel is a blend of Japanese and modern styles. My favorite parts were the rock garden off the lobby and rooftop. My room had a balcony overlooking the river, and tatami area with low seating. I preferred the couch and larger table as I could face outside. Of course, there was a fancy toilet with heated seat and bidet! By far, the best part of this hotel was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and provided flawless service. I loved that they would call your room 15 minutes before your assigned breakfast time. Definitely try the Japanese breakfast, but the western set was also excellent. Special thanks to the manager Ms. Mao, who suggested I visit the Golden Temple and Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. She also escorted me to the Taxi upon departure. I really liked the location, as it was a few blocks away from the bustle of Kyoto. The only downside is that the area felt deserted at night. Two train stations on the Keihan Railway (Shichijo and Kiyomizu-Gojo) are less than 10 minutes away on foot. The most unexpected feature was their laundry room with two free machines (detergent already loaded). However, a machine can take 5+ hours to wash and dry your clothes. Coming from the US, that was shockingly long. I highly recommend the Genji and would gladly return!

The store is very warm in China. The location of the hotel is suitable for city walk lovers. The room I booked shows 30 square meters, which is definitely not enough. Visually, it is a little more than 20. There is no sink, wash to be completed on the kitchen stove, but the so-called kitchen is a wash basin and an induction cooker, kitchen utensils provide a kettle, other pots and tableware are not, then you may as well arrange an electric kettle, a serious washstand? The towel rack is installed above the bed, far from the shower area, and the switch of the bedside lamp is installed on the wall at the foot of the bed. The design is absolutely amazing. After leaving, the family said that there were small bugs on the tatami and didn't dare to tell me at the time.

The location is very convenient, suitable for going to Kiyomizu Temple early in the morning. Service: Hotel operation is very cost-effective. There is only one front desk on duty at any time, and the front desk is also responsible for room inspections. When you go to the front desk, you may not be able to find someone and need to wait, or call their mobile phone. The number is left on On the front desk. In addition, there is no bottled water in the room, and there is no water dispenser on the floor. I don’t know if there is one at the front desk. Really budget hotel. Hygiene: When I entered the room, I saw a piece of transparent cellophane on the floor, which is used to wrap straws. When I took a shower at night, I opened the shower curtain and was shocked to see the dense stains on the inside of the shower curtain. I lent the room to Hitchcock for filming. ”Psycho”? If not, just get a new shower curtain, it’s not expensive either. In addition, the water coming out of the water pipe is milky white and opaque. When I took a video, I couldn't see the bottom of the cup. It will become clear after about 10 seconds. I don’t know what water purification technology it is.

The service of this youth travel is great, and the young ladies at the counter are very kind! The space for co-creation is also very good, there is a good office environment and ~ The only two disadvantages of the display are: 1. Outside the window of the room is a cemetery. Maybe the locals don't care about this point, but this situation actually took a while to overcome psychological barriers. The bathroom is shared even if you buy a single room

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the Kamo River, you can take a walk to the Kamo River every day. Traveling is also very convenient, very close to the subway station and the bus station. The rooms are large, clean and tidy, with complete kitchenware, and you can cook your own meals. It is very suitable for a family.
