The OneFive Kyoto Shijo

Lovely hotel, excellent location with a 7-11 downstairs and 2xFamily Marts nearby within walking distance. A Sukiya (local chain of fast Japanese food restaurants) was opposite the hotel serving cheap eats but lovely, delicious and filling bowls of rice with meat/eel toppings. You can have food delivered to the hotel and there is a dining area with a microwave to eat in and heat up shop bought food. Coin operated laundry facilities are on-site but there are only 2 washing machines and dryer available (laundry detergent automatically added). Bus stops to Kyoto station and to other attractions/local sights are within minutes walk from hotel. Bus 9 and 50 take you directly from the station to the door of the hotel. (¥230 single trip). The hotel had an efficient system of checking in with a QR code, staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel was clean and the rooms were quite large for Japan’s standard. The shower and toilet were amazing! Coffee and tea/hot water were provided all day, umbrellas are lent out to you for rainy days, the front desk had unlimited supply of amenities for you to take away (toothbrush/shower caps/face cream etc) and lots of freshly laundered night shirts to wear! Happy to store your bags at check out to finish exploring the city! One (very mild) down side is that the beds are the size of either a slightly large(er) single bed or a small(er) double bed, so twin rooms sleeping 4 may be slightly difficult but for families with smaller children, it was fine. Overall, a wonderful stay and would be very happy to come again.

Location is nice. There are several bus stops nearby and also a 7-11 next to it. It is there we convenient to get everywhere from the hotel. The facilities are nice. They offer free coffee, and all kinds of towels, toothpaste and so on that you can get however much you need. However the time for checking in and out is not reasonable. Check out before 10am and check in after 3pm. Meanwhile the cleaning for everyday is just throwing trash bags for you and give you towels, not including making the bed. Generally it’s not bad, a 4 out of 5.

Nice property with the convenience store downstairs. No matter where you wanna go to the attractions just walking distance to the metro to the place or bus station. Just abit far from the main district you have to walk or take bus. Hotel don’t provide house keeping if you continuously stay just replace towel and some amenities. This is my first time to knew tht. But it’s very affordable qualifies stay.

Excellent location - close to the train to see the bamboo forest and 10 min walk to the Nishiki Market. The hotel staff are very friendly and they have a great coffee/tea station at reception with all the toiletries that you need. We highly recommend for your stay in Kyoto.

Smooth self-check in procedure, large table area in room, plenty of luggage space. Two supermarkets nearby and a 7-11 right beneath

The staff are friendly, and there are also some amenities at the reception(e.g., skin lotion, facial cleanser,etc.) to make your stay more comfortable. The location of the hotel is near Gion district and makes your shopping and dining experience worthy.

The room space is considered spacious for japan standard. Love the room and there is 7eleven beside. Superb convenient

This is a no-frills, modern hotel (7-Eleven is next door). Our Twin Room was big and comfortable with a good-sized bathroom; a nice touch to have a fabric freshener spray near the coat hooks. It’s a walking distance to Omiya station along the Hankyu Line which includes Umeda (great for those coming from Osaka); close to downtown (Kawaramachi) where you can either walk or take the subway to attractions such as Nishiki Market (Shijo) and Gion (Gion-shijo).
