Indigo Properties in Harbin

I stayed here in October, 50 years ago, the day after the Gang of Four was crushed. It was called the Municipal Party Committee Guest House back then, and you couldn't stay without an introduction letter. Right outside was the Flood Control Monument and the bridge. Today, it's been transformed into this modern hotel. The facilities are absolutely top-notch, far superior to what they once were, and even better than other five-star hotels I've stayed in. The service is impeccable; the staff are incredibly attentive and serious about looking after guests. The amenities are excellent too. The restaurant offers a panoramic view of the Flood Control Monument, which is truly refreshing – bustling with tourists below, yet so peaceful up here. It was a fantastic experience.
