The location is fantastic! It's just a two or three-minute walk to the light rail station, and then another five minutes to the beach. There are all sorts of restaurants and clothing stores nearby, so you definitely won't have to worry about food or lodging. The room and bathroom are both very spacious, and there's even an outdoor pool. Plus, they offer free luggage storage.

Was nervous due to past reviews, but found the reception staff friendly and helpful & the facilities really good. The room was basic but location was walkable and, whilst a little noisy at night sometimes, the other guests were kind and considerate. Would stay again!
After a long day of driving, i arrived at the place because i just needing a place to sleep for the night. It’s basic, as expected, but at least it was clean. The room was small and plain, with just the essentials—a bed, a desk, with shared bathroom.
It wasn’t particularly comfortable, and the amenities were minimal, but it served its purpose as a quick stopover. The staff was polite enough, and while it’s not somewhere we’d stay for more than one night, it worked for what we needed: a budget-friendly, no-frills place to rest before hitting the road again.

Late check-in was allowed and a special arrangement for late check-in was made by the duty manager. Appreciated.
The location is good, which is next to Cairns train station. Very convenient if you will take the Kuranda train at Cairns train station at 0830. Also, it’s a walkable distance between the hostel and reef fleet terminal.
Booked a room for 2. The room was clean and spacious in which a few cabinets were provided. Your own padlock was required if you wanted to lock the cabinets. No Hairdryer was provided as a hostel.
There were a small swimming pool, big common area and a big kitchen.

As a solo traveler, I found this hostel to be excellent. It felt very safe and was wonderfully quiet. The only minor downside was the uphill walk to get there, which was a bit challenging with luggage. In the evenings, the surrounding area was quite quiet, and food options were limited. Interestingly, there were many Korean guests during my stay. I shared a 4-bed dorm with one Malaysian and two Korean roommates.
My friend and I stayed here for three days. There were different social activities every night. We could play board games, taste cheese, sip red wine and enjoy grilled sausages with friends from different places. Friends who are not good at socializing can pet Spider, the store dog🐶
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, and basic seasonings are provided. There is a whole wall of refrigerators, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to put the purchased ingredients because there are too many guests. In the morning, simple toast, spreads, milk and tea bags are provided as breakfast.
I stayed in a quadruple room. The environment and shared bathroom were quite clean and there was air conditioning in the room. Unfortunately, the mattress was a bit soft and the soundproofing in the room was not very good. It seemed that no one stopped the guests from making noises and laughing by the swimming pool late at night, which made it difficult to fall asleep.
I stayed at the Civic Guesthouse before I got a room in Townsville.
I felt that it was a really good place to manage.
I used a four-person room, but it was not very uncomfortable because there were several shared toilets and bathrooms, and the staff were all friendly ㅎㅎㅎ
I want to introduce you to my friends.
There is an elevator
Each room has its own bathroom and shower
The rooms are spacious and the ceilings are very high
So there is no smell
The bunk beds are solid and well made
So they don't creak, so the bunk beds weren't bad
If only the accommodation cost and the location were close, I think I would have stayed here forever
I'm currently staying at a YHA, but the room is too small compared to that :(
Usually tourists come here
I'm planning to stay here when I come to Breeze before going to Korea
Overall a good stay. Lucky enough to have only 2 person in a 8-bed female dormitory.
Very Good

GGuest UserOnly lost one point from me, because of the WiFi signal but I can live without I'm just glad I don't have the kids with me. Personally apart from that my stay was flawless. It has the perfect, location, service, security, cleanliness, not overly priced and I've also saved a lot of cigarettes (because I'm too lazy to walk outside to have one). Then there's the bed!! Wow the bed is lovely, on arrival I had things to do but I laid down for a ”little bit” and I woke up at midnight 😬😮😁
I will definitely be returning in the future. .

This place is definitely one of the best hostels ever. Where do I start from?
Reception: everyone is always super kind and helpful, including offering help with luggage and everything else. The hostel looks very new and modern, so beautiful!
Room: it's great! Big enough, with hangers, curtains on each bed (amazing!), plugs and light for every bed and also some extra plugs around the room. Bed was very comfortable and I felt great there!
Bathroom: always clean, soap in every sink and in every shower, big and nice!
Kitchen: incredibly well equipped and open 24 hours. There are 2 doors separating it from the rooms so it's never noisy even if people are there in the night. They provide big boxes that fit in the (many) fridges so that it's all tidy and clean. Goodbye the hundreds of Woolworths bags and messy fridges with no space for other people's food! Even the cups, the dishes were perfectly clean, like everything else. I was seriously impressed, they did the cleaning multiple times a day. Free salt, oil, tea and coffee always available.
Common areas: really beautiful, full of books, games, with a huge TV and many tables and beanbags.
Events: they actually organize social events and the staff helps the ”new” people to socialize. That's so important! Many long termers don't really mind about meeting new people but if the staff does his part then it gets a lot easier. And here, they do. On my first night they had a free cheese and wine event and we got a lot of tasty food and wine.
Location: perfect, just above Woolworths and a few minutes walking from everything. The Little Drifter feels more like an hotel than a hostel and I really don't know how people can rate it low.
As great as it is I would still like to suggest some possible improvement. Maybe at the Reception you can print a map with a few info about the hostel on the back. I didn't understand where the boxes for the kitchen were, I didn't find the labels. Also it took me 3 days to find out that I had another toilet a lot closer to my room, so for 3 days I was crossing a very long hallway in the middle of the night when I had to go.
I also didn't like the fact that I had to open the doors through the app and I discovered later that there is a code to open it as well (I try to leave my phone in my room as much as possible).
This hostel is a little more expensive than other places but it's totally worth it! If I'll be back in Cairns I won't hesitate to come here. Thanks!
ZZuogekaixinkuailerenI booked a basic double room, and the room was brighter when the lights were on. There are night markets on both sides of the hotel, and the front faces the sea. It is cost-effective, and the hygiene is average. It will feel very hot and humid without air conditioning, so the air conditioning is used 24 hours a day. There is a kitchen with a refrigerator, which is suitable for cooking.
EElfiiEverything was wonderful. Comfortable beds, large, comfortable bathrooms, 24-hour reception, and a well-equipped kitchen. There's a popular nightclub nearby, but the noise from it didn't reach my room.
GGuest UserNo staff at the front, ever. If you need assistance you are on your own trying to call them. Everyday there was someone else struggling to get in because the code didn’t work or the keypad was temperamental.
Check in wasn’t complicated but required time and effort following their links, if you are booking for someone else, like businesses do, you can’t get the entry code until you get the text messages and follow the check in process.
Balcony’s are useless and there is no sound insulation because of the balcony doors. The noise coming from the street to my room was the equivalent of just sleeping on the street.
Location was good for airport proximity and a Woolworths and some restaurants.
Room was clean, bathroom was cramped but did the job.
Lacked power outlets near the bed.
LLi asNomads Magnetic Island is fantastic! It offers a true island vibe with cozy sleep huts and plenty of outdoor space to relax. The bus stop right in front makes it easy to explore the island. The showers are warm and spacious. This is definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed in!
MM509248****Due to slow drainage in the bathroom that wasn't fixed, the hotel moved us to an upstairs room. It was a huge improvement from the previous one; the room and bathroom were spacious and clean, both with large windows that opened, offering a great view.
