Our stay at Cloud Villa (Yunduanjingyuan Mountain View Homestay) was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Zhangjiajie. My friend and I stayed for four nights, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated with a level of warmth and hospitality that far exceeded our expectations. The homestay itself is absolutely stunning. Our room was beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, with breathtaking mountain views that we looked forward to waking up to each morning. Every detail of the room felt thoughtfully curated, and the luxurious bathtub was my favorite way to relax after long days of hiking and exploring Zhangjiajie’s incredible scenery. The service was exceptional from start to finish. After our late-night flight from Xi’an, we were greeted at the airport and driven to the homestay in a beautiful, comfortable car. Every morning we were treated to an incredible homemade breakfast prepared by their wonderful housekeeper. We got to personally choose our breakfast the evening before, and it would be freshly prepared each morning. It was delicious, filling, and the perfect way to fuel up before a day of exploring the national parks. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the people. The homestay is run by an incredibly kind and generous owner who welcomed us not as customers, but as family. She took the time to get to know us, shared stories about her own life, and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The manager was equally outstanding. He was always ready to help with our luggage, answer our questions, and make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Since we were foreigners visiting Zhangjiajie for the first time, his assistance was invaluable. He helped us arrange tickets in advance for both Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (the “Avatar Mountains”), and recommended optimal routes for us to take making everything incredibly smooth and stress-free. What impressed us even more was the genuine care they showed us as people. During our trip, my friend became sick, and the manager regularly checked in on her to make sure she had everything she needed to recover comfortably. Later, after I slipped and suffered a minor injury while visiting one of the parks, he showed the same sincere concern for my well-being. Their kindness never felt transactional, it was genuine. He really is quite exceptional! The owner saved the best surprise for our final day. We planned to spend the day at Tianmen Mountain before heading directly to the airport. Rather than having us store our luggage in a crowded locker facility, she generously offered to drive us to the park, keep our luggage safely in her own car throughout the day, and then take us directly to the airport afterward. That alone would have been incredibly thoughtful. But then she surprised us again! Before taking us to the airport, she prepared a wonderful homemade meal featuring fresh oysters, shrimp, eggplant, mixed vegetables, and rice! It was one of the most memorable meals of our trip, not only because it was delicious, but because it was prepared with such genuine generosity and care. We left for our flight with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. Because of the incredible hospitality we experienced at Cloud Villa, our time in Hunan became even more memorable than we could have imagined. There are many accommodations with beautiful rooms, but it is rare to find people who make you feel so genuinely welcomed and cared for. She even gave us cute parting gifts to commemorate our stay! To anyone, especially international travelers, planning a visit to Zhangjiajie, I cannot recommend Cloud Villa enough! If I ever return to the area, there is no question about where I’ll stay. I’ll gladly return not only for the beautiful accommodations, but to visit the wonderful people who made us feel like family. Thank you for making our trip truly unforgettable!

The room was spacious and clean, equipped with a mini-fridge and a projector. The best part about this guesthouse is its environment. Waking up in the morning, with mist shrouding the trees, you can really feel that picturesque 'purple smoke rising from the forest' vibe, and some rooms even offer mountain views right from the window. The owner's service was exceptional; they kindly dropped us off at the central gate in the morning and picked us up within minutes of calling in the evening. The guesthouse is very close to Zhangjiajie's central gate, which is super convenient for exploring Zhangjiajie without backtracking. If you have good stamina, you can even visit Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, and Tianzi Mountain all in one day. Although the guesthouse breakfast didn't have a huge variety, it was satisfying. The stir-fries had a home-cooked taste, light and delicious, and all the vegetables were home-grown. When we left, the lovely owner even personally picked some cucumbers for me to snack on during my journey – so thoughtful! Oh, I almost forgot, the guesthouse also offers farm-style picking activities. I'd love to come back during the off-season next time and stay for a few days, slowly enjoying some tea and relaxing!

Zhangjiajie East Gate Boutique B&B | 50 Meters from Scenic Area Entrance, Unparalleled Service, You Won't Want to Leave! For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents! 👶Parents with Kids Rejoice! All These are Free! Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. The place is beautiful the staff try and help with the everything. If you are staying in a 2x double bed room the ‘privacy glass’ is a bit see through and it’s uncomfortable to shower with others there but it’s manageable. The water is either very hot or very cold at times. The reception ask if you would like your room cleaned everytime before leaving. We always said yes but they only changed the bed sheet at the end of our 7 day stay. The park is about 10 minutes by car and very convenient which is cheap by taxi. Overall the staff is work hard and it’s worth the money spent

Great Location and Very Helpful Owner I stayed here for 2 nights and had a really good experience. One of the things that surprised me the most was the location. Before coming to Wulingyuan, I expected the area to be quiet and more like a countryside or rural area. But this hotel is actually in a lively area with lots of shops, restaurants, and places to eat, right along the main road. It is also very convenient for travelers visiting the attractions. There are bus stops just a few steps from the hotel, including buses going to Huanglong Cave and the Grand Canyon, and the Wulingyuan Bus Station is about a 12-minute walk away. The hotel also has an elevator, which was a nice convenience. The owner/staff was also very kind and helpful. He can speak a little English, which made communication easier. He even helped me book discounted tickets for Huanglong Cave, Zhangjiajie National Park, and Tianmen Mountain, which I really appreciated. They also allowed me to leave my luggage at the hotel even after check-out, which was very convenient. There were only a couple of minor things that could be improved. The bathroom tiles could use some replacement or renovation, and the window could also use a little more cleaning. But these were minor issues and did not really affect my overall stay. Overall, I really liked staying here. The location was much more convenient and lively than I expected, the owner was very helpful, and having easy access to transportation, restaurants, and shops made my 2-night stay comfortable. Definitely a good option if you're staying in Wulingyuan, especially if you're visiting Zhangjiajie National Park and the surrounding attractions.

Hygiene: Extremely clean, one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in! They also provide a lot of disposable toiletries and sanitizing products, offering everything you could think of and more, very thoughtful. Facilities: Projector, tea ceremony table, makeup mirror, bathtub, electric curtains. Environment: The decor is simple and looks very comfortable. The bed and pillows are also very comfortable. It's a 5-minute walk to the iconic gate, 7-8 minutes to the East Gate entrance turnstile, and a 16-minute walk to the Charming Xiangxi show theater. There are many delicious restaurants and several breakfast spots around the guesthouse, very convenient! Service: For this trip, I asked the owner to help book group tickets, which saved me a lot of money overall. The owner is very enthusiastic, not only helping to plan the itinerary but also almost instantly replying to any questions. Seeing that I was traveling alone and might feel unsafe, the owner even picked me up and dropped me off for the Charming Xiangxi show, which was very thoughtful. When I left, they also proactively helped me find a shared ride. They truly made my trip very comfortable and perfect, I'm so, so happy! 😁 I highly recommend this guesthouse! 👍🏻

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

Fantastic location about 5mins walk from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park East Gate entrance. The host is superb kind, helpful, she will do everything to help you to get around Very convenient to get the bus to the Grand Canyon and also to Zhangjiajiexi station.

View is as good as the photos. You get exactly what you see. However, I found the location of the hotel to be extremely inconvenient and would urge fellow travelers to avoid this hotel unless you are fully aware of this risk. First, the hotel is located in a very isolated location on a hill with steep curved turns making it very difficult for drivers. My DiDi drivers have all expressed their concern over the safety of the hill everytime I’ve had a ride home. Additionally, there are almost no food options and no convenience stores nearby. ******* will not be able to save you either. As the hotel is also located above rice paddies, the damp surroundings attract a lot of bugs including mosquitoes, beetles, and flies. Be wary of this, and bring a skin vape! The room itself is an oasis in the midst of it all though!

When I first saw the name 'Xiangjiang Hotel' online, I thought it would be an older, more traditional style of accommodation. However, my stay completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a charming retro ambiance, and I found it to be very clean, tidy, quiet, and incredibly comfortable. It's also a great spot for taking photos! What truly stood out was the personalized butler service; it was exceptionally warm and thoughtful. On my first night, I checked in at midnight, and even at 2 AM, customer service was promptly responding to my WeChat messages. For any needs in the room, they'd reply instantly, showing incredible attention to detail and care. The mini-fridge, tea, and toiletries were replenished immediately. After my first night, I extended my stay without hesitation the next day. I'm sure I'll choose to stay here again on my next trip to Changsha.
