Very friendly and welcoming reception. We had the privilege of staying in a suite, an upgrade offered by the hotel because we were there for the first time, because they had a suite available and they wanted to offer an upgrade to our reservation. We were very pleased with the way they welcomed us.
I advise and recommend.
I hadn't been to Peniche before. Decided to stay at the Star Inn and really glad that I did. Very helpful staff and location is right next to a lovely sandy beach. The breakfast was really good as was the buffet dinner which was reasonably priced with a wide choice of food available. There's also an excellent Surf School and equipment rentals - Special Surf 78 located in the hotel lobby. I'll stay here again the next time I'm in Peniche. It's a very nice hotel for a family stay and for solo travellers. I'd definitely recommend it!
For a 3-star rating, it meets expectations overall.
A strong point is the breakfast hours (6:30 am - 12 pm), which is convenient for those who start work early.
The service was friendly and professional.
A weak point: the cleanliness of the rooms (they weren't vacuumed daily) and the preparation of the scrambled eggs at breakfast.
The service attitude of this hotel staff must be especially praised. In addition to being warm and polite, they are also very active in assisting with customer needs. The first time we arrived too early in the morning, but the hotel said that there was a cleaned room, so we checked in early, very considerate
Newly renovated monastery, which is directly adjacent to the UNESCO monastery in Alcobaca, which can be visited for a fee.
Friendly check-in, great pool and excellent breakfast buffet
Super clean and amazing view. We had a room with ocean view and the room was quite nice and clean. All staff super nice and helpful. The restaurant has a nice menu and the breakfast has a lot of variety and all very fresh. Staff from restaurant was also super nice. The bar also has some snack/food choices and the view is great. It is not walking distance from Nazare, but if you have a car is no problem.
I definitely recommend it, very good quality price.
It’s located close to central bus terminal and many nice restaurants around. Convenient location and staff is very friendly.

GGuest UserExcellent boutique hotel, good facilities, in particular indoor pool open until 22:00. Tv in the room was not working so upon request we were moved to another room, albeit an upgraded to a suite. Excellent breakfast too!

NNatalia CleoLovely hostel in the Baleal/Ferrel area. Just keep in mind that it’s not located in Peniche town itself. That said, Baleal is a charming and laid-back little town, and the beach is only a few minutes away.
The shared dorm was spacious enough to comfortably store my belongings, and each bed had its own locker. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and the linen was spotless. The kitchen was also very well equipped.
The hostel has great facilities, including a swimming pool, a balcony, and several common areas where it’s easy to meet and connect with other travelers. The only downside was that my room was located directly under the bar, so it could get quite noisy some evenings, even around 11 p.m.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. I originally booked a two-night stay but enjoyed it so much that I extended it by three more nights.
I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great experience!
GGuest UserPlace inserted in the middle of nature. Peaceful and quiet. Thermal spa 👌. Careful cleaning. Less positive point is the fact that the place for meals is on the 2nd floor, having stayed on the 1st floor, which in the morning is heard if the noise of dragging chairs from the restaurant.
PPassporttoPalateThis hotel has become well known for being a book lovers haven. The hotel itself is super interesting and each room is different. My friend and I each stayed in different parts of the hotel and had very different looking and feeing rooms. Which means each time you stay there; there could be a new discovery. The hallways and corridors are lined with books. Even if you don't stay here I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant. The food was amazing every time.
The only thing I would recommend if this hotel needs more cozy reading areas. They have a couple but they are not the most comfortable places to sit; although they are definitely aesthetically pleasing and fit the vibe of the hotel's history. We spent a lot of time out in the courtyard reading; there's a great spot under a large tree with canvas chairs.

Ssiliandra RosaDespite the building being old, the room was very comfortable and spacious enough for us. Excellent reception and service. We received a welcome shot of Ginja (a typical drink from the Óbidos region), a bottle of mineral water, and nuts in the room. The hotel is located within the town of Óbidos and does not have parking, but you can park outside the walls. The breakfast was very good and varied. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very pleasant and offers craft beers.
AAlekseiA Luxurious Stay
This hotel exceeded all expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff’s professionalism and warm hospitality made me feel truly special.
The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean, with breathtaking views from the window. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged for maximum comfort.
The restaurant was a highlight—delicious, fresh, and varied meals that turned every breakfast and dinner into a delightful experience.
Highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay!
GGuest UserThe village, Aljubarrota, is itself of great historical interest. It is around 10 minutes to Alcobaca. We found the area to be very pleasant. As for the Casa da Padeira itself, the quality of service and comfort was extremely good. For example, the breakfast was excellent, as were the rooms and the immediate surroundings of the Casa. I should add that we were given a list of suggested restaurants in the vicinity which turned out to be quite useful.
In all, this was a surprising, very worthwhile visit.
