Had a pleasant stay for a short business trip. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Amenities were complete, especially the gym which was convenient and clean. Location is also strategic with easy access to nearby restaurants and conveniences. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Would definitely consider staying here again for future work trips.

The Hotel is located at the area with many seafood restaurants and it is also convenient to access to different shops. On the first day, we were given a room without views that made us very unhappy. Then they agreed to change it to better views. The sensor of the light control was out of order on the third day, but they could fix it on the same day. The staff of the Hotel would send messages to connect with us. It was very helpful Hotel. Their breakfast was really fantastic, we highly recommended it.

Our stay in this hotel is superb , the room is very very nice and updated to the latest (i believe) , it has a good view of the sea where you can see the boat go and come back from the island, bed is super comfy and large , toilet and vanity area is very very spacious (we looovedd it!!) for in house guest, parking is just Rm10 (once) with unlimited time (in/out) you just need to let the front desk team know ur car plate number. We add on the breakfast upon check in at a cost of Rm65/adult, it was okay, choices can be improve but we love the beef noodle and tea tarik very much! we will definitely come back again for our staycationđ„°âŁïž

The room was quite spacious and the environment was pleasant; it wasn't noisy at night either. Although the hotel front desk didn't offer full Chinese service, the staff knew a few Chinese phrases, so communication wasn't an issue. There's a convenience store and restaurants nearby, plus a BaWangChaJi. Across the street diagonally, there's also a large shopping mall with Chinese drink brands and Haidilao. Overall, I think the location is pretty good.

My first stay in Le Meridien and I was blown away by the physical features and the service. We stay there 3 nights in total over two legs
Special mention to Reazy (hope I got her name right) who served me when we checked in and out on our first leg. She was professional and warm! She had some good recommendations on food and was lovely to interact with. Compliments to Malcolm who welcomed us back when we return for our third night stay.
We were given a complimentary upgrade to a Sea view king room. We were so thankful as we could see then beautiful sea and sunset.
The rooms were very spacious and posh looking. The breakfast was great and offered variety. The location is the best!!
We would want to be back one day!

Amazing hotel in every way. Rooms are superb, food is delicious and the pool area is very clean and tidy.
Bed is amazing. Probably one of the best weâve stayed in in Borneo.
Aircon is very good with plenty of power and offers a quiet mode.
Bathroom and shower are top of the range. It offered a bath too which was a nice touch. Very good here.
No noise disturbances at night. The WiFi is very good too.

Probably on the higher end of hotel prices but what you get is extremely worth the extra money. Itâs beautiful all over and just walking through the lobby is lovely.

The stay was very comfortable, with clean rooms and friendly staff. The location is also very strategic. Truly worth it! The hotel is beautiful and well-maintained. I was very satisfied with the service provided. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the facilities are complete. Check-in was quick, and the staff were very friendly. The room is beautifully decorated, the bathroom is clean, and all amenities are available. The price is reasonable for the quality offered. Highly recommended for both leisure trips and business stays.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at this hotel with my wife and child for our vacation, and we had a truly enjoyable experience. Although the weather during our stay was mostly rainy and we only managed to spend one day at the water park and swimming pool, the hotelâs facilities more than made up for it.
Our child especially loved the indoor kidsâ playground, which kept him entertained throughout the trip. The buffet breakfast was another highlight â delicious, with a wide variety of choices to suit everyone.
The hotel staff were all very friendly, attentive, and helpful, making our stay even more pleasant.
Overall, despite the weather, we had a wonderful and satisfying stay. Highly recommended for families!

AAnonymous UserJust got back home yesterday, and I'm determined to write a thorough review for this hotel. My kids also encouraged me to review it, because it truly deserves it. We booked four ocean villas for two nights, and I initially thought our chances of encountering issues would be higher with such a large booking. But we didn't run into any problems at all! In fact, I even regretted not booking more nights, mainly because I was put off by too many negative reviews on Ctrip.
1. **Service:** If you're comfortable communicating in English, the hotel service is absolutely fantastic. Most of the staff speak excellent English and were diligent in explaining activities, facilities, schedules, and programs. They showed us where everything was in the room and proactively informed us about the cost if we broke any of the toiletries bottles. The higher cost for broken bottles is because the contents are genuinely expensive â they're pure plant essential oil toiletries. As someone who regularly uses essential oils, I know they shouldn't be stored in plastic. Plus, these toiletries left our hair and skin feeling moisturized, not dry. I found them to be very effective. If you're worried about breaking them, just place them on the floor.
2. **Seawater:** The seawater is quite clear. While it's not a 'jelly blue,' the clarity is definitely good. We did experience a heavy downpour one day, and the water became a bit murky the next, but it was still perfectly acceptable. The photo of the large sea turtle looks a bit blurry because it was taken with a waterproof phone case, but the water itself was actually very clear. That was taken from under our water villa. The manta ray was photographed near the stairs of our water villa room.
3. **No Outside Food Policy:** They don't allow outside food in the rooms because it attracts ants and monkeys. The front desk has a dedicated area for storing snacks. We didn't bring any snacks into our room and always closed the door promptly, so we didn't have any bugs or insects. A crucial point: absolutely do not feed the monkeys!
4. **Meals:** We had all our meals at the hotel restaurant, and the food was truly delicious. A main meal costs around 90+ MYR per person (about 160 CNY). We felt the food was excellent, with a good variety of dishes and drinks beyond just the main courses. The kids' portions were a bit small; our four children ordered 7 kids' meals, and eventually, we just ordered them regular adult meals instead.
5. **Hot Water:** Regarding previous reviews mentioning no hot water, one of our rooms indeed had this issue. We called the front desk, and it turned out there's a 'water heater' button on the wall. Hot water was available within 15 minutes. So, don't hesitate to ask! Don't be shy; good service often requires you to speak up.
6. **Free Rentals:** Paddleboards, small boats, fins, and masks are all available for free rental.
7. **Marine Life:** In the ocean, we spotted baby sharks, baby manta rays, triggerfish, archerfish (the ones that shoot water), porcupinefish, and even a large sea turtle (which is rare, but we got lucky!).
8. **Welcome/Farewell:** We received a welcome ceremony and a welcome drink upon arrival. Upon departure, we sometimes had the whole staff waving goodbye to us.
9. **Guest Demographics:** There were a lot of European and American guests at the hotel, some Koreans, but not many Chinese guests. I wonder if this is due to the excessive negative reviews on Ctrip.
10. **Cleanliness:** The hygiene was excellent, and the rooms were very clean. Each room came with life vests, so you could go snorkeling anytime.
That pretty much covers it. I believe if your English communication is good, feel free to chat with the front desk and restaurant staff; they are very engaging. At 8 AM, the hotel organizes a free jungle trek. It was a bit tiring, and we didn't see much â just hiking uphill.
For reference, my experience this trip, and with these four rooms, was genuinely excellent. Having been to places like the Maldives, Bali, and Koh Lipe... I think this hotel offers great value for money, and I would definitely come back. Hotels at this price point on Koh Lipe before were significantly worse.

CCoughfeeThe view is very pretty and marvellous concept for glamping. Good for those want to be away from town. Since it was far away, there is no nearby restaurant except for burger stalls at the nearby village. Luckily, there is a cafe currently within the area. Dinner and lunch shouldnt be a problem here. Only to be improved is the facilities as most of the toilets showers are deteriorating but still useable. There is a big tree house in the middle but it is closed down for visitors. Overall, its a good getaway for clearing up your mind from your routine busy life.

GGuest UserHotel is a little off from city centre, hotel providing shuttle bus but still a hassle to spend hours on road.
hotel is a perfect place to spend days with family and just chill. there are plenty of activities planned for kids to keep them busy. Discovery center and Water sports center provides activities with charges.
Due to the fact of by the beach, to maintain a perfect cleaniless is a challenge but hotel has done it well, very comfortable to stay in the room.
The staffs hospitality is what we like the most here, they are really friendly and usually initiate conversation with the guests.

Positive Points:
1. Air-conditioning was very effective and kept the room comfortable throughout the stay.
2. Great window view â beautiful sea and jetty scenery that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. (see my attached picture)
3. Excellent location â conveniently close to eateries and the jetty, making it easy to get around.
4. Reasonably priced in-house food â offers good value for money for guests who prefer to dine in.
5. Complimentary extra bottled water was provided upon request, which was appreciated.
6. Friendly and helpful staff across all departments â from housekeeping, cafĂ©, and maintenance to the front desk. Everyone was courteous and attentive.
7. Special mention to the chef â a very kind and gentlemanly person. On our first day, we ordered 6 fried eggs for breakfast, assuming they were included. The chef initially didnât inform us of the RM2 charge per egg and kindly did not charge us for them. When we later tried to order again, he politely informed us about the charge. We truly appreciated his honesty and kind gesture.

Areas for Improvement:
1. Limited breakfast buffet selection â mainly local dishes such as chicken, eggs, vegetables, rice, or noodles. While the food was tasty, there were no options like fresh milk, cereal, or egg station. Fruit choices were also limited to just bananas every day.
2. Window leakage during heavy rain â rainwater entered the room. However, the staff responded promptly and mopped the floor immediately.
3. No robe hooks in the bathroom â makes it inconvenient to hang clothes or towels.
4. Shortage of bath towels â clean towels were only available in the late afternoon after laundry was returned.
5. Extra blanket charge â an additional around rm50-60 was required if requesting one more blanket, which felt a bit expensive.
6. Low water pressure in the shower â the water flow was quite weak, making the shower experience less enjoyable.
7. Housekeeping quality needs improvement â there was sand in the room, and although we informed the staff, it was not cleaned properly even after the feedback.
Extra Tip for Travellers:
Thereâs no laundry shop in Semporna town, so do remember to bring enough clothes for your stay.

Me and a group of colleagues chose Wendu Inn during our recent work trip to Kota Belud, and Iâd like to share an honest reviewânot just a general star ratingâbecause the experience was a mix of excellent and disappointing aspects.

âą The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
âą Cleanliness and room comfort are top-notchâdefinitely 5-star worthy, especially for a small town like Kota Belud.
⹠The view from the café and the convenience of having a minimart downstairs were truly added bonuses.
âą We genuinely appreciated the effort put into making the place cozy and welcoming.
But here comes the downside:
We booked our rooms with breakfast included, which is supposed to be served at their café. However, this was where things went wrong.
1ïžâŁ When we went for breakfast, there was no proper display or explanation about the free breakfast options. What was openly displayed was a menu with both breakfast (no prices shown) and lunch items (with prices).
The actual complimentary breakfast choices were hidden away in a folder behind the counterânot visible to guests. Naturally, thinking the displayed breakfast options were part of our package, we made our choices and presented our coupons at the counter. The staff accepted the coupons without saying a word. Only after finishing our meals were we surprised with a bill, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated.
2ïžâŁ The counter staffâs customer service was below expectations.
When we requested an official receipt for work claims, we were repeatedly told to refer to the booking website. Even after explaining that we needed an original stamped receipt, the answer was simply: âWe donât have an original stamp.â
For a hotel catering to business travelers, this lack of basic documentation support is quite inconvenient.
Final thoughts:
Would I recommend Wendu Inn? Yesâfor comfort, cleanliness, and its peaceful surroundings.
But be prepared to double-check details around your package (especially meals), and donât expect much assistance from the front desk when it comes to paperwork or clarifications.
