When staying at BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI, you'll be perfectly positioned to explore Naka Ward.
"Room size was decent! Bed and floor were clean, but the hangers and shelves had a visible layer of dust. Rooms are accessible by QR code or a PIN code which are convenient, but be mindful during check in if anyone else can hear your room number and code. We asked for a new code for this reason, which the hotel thankfully easily agreed to. Location was good, away from the bustling city but with enough dining options nearby, even a 24h Ichiran!"

"The biggest plus is the location. As a solo female traveler visiting Nagoya for the first time, I felt very safe. It's only a few minutes' walk from Nagoya Station, and there's an LV store right downstairs. The area reminds me a bit of the shops above Guangzhou's Taikoo Hui. There are plenty of dining options nearby too. However, I had to request housekeeping; my room wasn't cleaned until the fourth day. I later found out it was because I hadn't hung the 'please clean' sign on the door. Other than that, everything else was fine. Hotels in Japan at this price point tend to be on the smaller side. The complimentary breakfast from the bakery downstairs was nice – a donut, a croissant, and a drink every day. It's definitely better value than buying it separately. If you're traveling solo and prioritize safety and convenience, this hotel is a great choice."

"The hotel facilities are new, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The front desk service is professional and friendly. The breakfast selection is rich and delicious, and the service is excellent. You can tell the hotel pays attention to many details. Overall, my stay was very satisfying, and I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Nagoya."

Great
GGuest UserRooms are small but clean and it is conveniently located to Nagoya station
There is breakfast provided in the morning so it’s nice also
Love the hotel
FffcyLocation a little bit off the bustling sakae area, have to walk like 10-15min to reach dondondonki, room is comfy, with good lighting, there’s a few laundry machine to use, public bath is ok I felt the water is not hot enough otherwise is well equipped.
BBengbabaThough small, this hotel is fully equipped. The lobby offers a self-service coffee machine, washing machine, dryer, ice maker, microwave, and vending machines. The room thoughtfully provides two portable massage pillows.
The location is excellent, quite close to Yabacho subway station and not far from Sakae station. Several popular shopping malls are nearby. It's also very close to Hanaoka Unagi, Gyubei yakiniku, Ichiran Ramen, convenience stores, and Don Quijote.
AAnonymous UserI came for a concert, and the hotel is right behind Niterra, so it was super convenient to just step out. It's also very close to Kanayama Station, which made shopping and getting to the airport easy. For Japan, the room size was decent and had all the necessary amenities. The lobby offered free coffee, and they even thoughtfully wrote a message for concert-goers.
GGuest UserI stayed for 3 days then I extended for another 2 days, its a great hostel,,i really liked the 10th floor lounge area, great showers and the capsule was very nice but the mattress is not soft enough
They give you pyjamas to sleep in and three towels, but there is no laundry, its a 10 minute walk away
Plenty of food options nearby
RRuguoyunzhidaoThe room size was decent for a solo traveler. The air conditioning was a bit noisy, and the free breakfast was just okay. The biggest plus of this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. It's a 30-minute walk to Nagoya Castle, and all the main shopping areas are within a 7-15 minute walk. Don Quijote is only a 7-minute walk away, and I think the Daikoku Drugstore on the third floor across the street had cheaper items. Overall, it was good value for the price! On the way back, to avoid the hassle of carrying my luggage, I took the airport express for 2000 yen. The hotel is only a 7-minute walk to the bus terminal, which was incredibly convenient.
CChennianwangshiThe location is quite convenient. However, the single and double rooms are the same size, which makes them feel too cramped. The breakfast is decent, but it gets incredibly crowded, with queues extending all the way to the elevators. The environment is chaotic and the management needs to improve to avoid such long lines.
ZZiyouaoxianggandaThis hotel boasts an excellent location. From Central Japan International Airport, you can take the Meitetsu Line directly to Nagoya Station, and the hotel is just about 600 meters from the exit. There are three major convenience stores nearby – 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson – and a large Aeon supermarket about 800 meters away, making dining, living, and getting around incredibly convenient. Compared to other hotels, a 19-square-meter room is considered quite spacious here, and it's clean and tidy. Check-in was very easy, and for check-out, you just insert your card into the machine. Overall, it's a hotel with great value for money.
GGuest UserI like this hotel because it's so convenient for shopping and dining. The place is quiet at night.
Breakfast is served at the restaurant in front of the hotel but it's not really buffet style. There are 3 sets to choose from. There's a salad and drink bar.
Parking is at a shopping center around the corner but there is a parking lot directly in front of the hotel which you can unload your bags: 300yen for 15mins
There's a coin laundry on the 8th floor. It's a wash/dry combo which is very good as it saves time and you can even set a code to lock it to prevent theft.
Hotel will provide you a discount ticket so make sure you ask for it before you exit the car park. The discount ticket is worth at least 1000yen if you are parking overnight.
HHailey bbThe room size is big enough and we cant find any hotel have such a size in Nagoya. All the staff are polite and able to communicate in English. This is exceptional compared to my experience in OMO... in Osaka where I needed to use Google translation app for communication. If you really want me to say any room for improvement, I would advice that the cleaning service. This is not about the 3 days deeping cleaning policy. It is about the slippers where they all threw under the seat or table. And I can also find that there are tissue or snacks under the table after cleaning. Anyway, I like this place and will definitely consider it again next time when I visit Nagoya.
