The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Nagoya

The hotel is very new and boasts a fantastic location. Downstairs, there are local specialty stalls, drugstores, and convenience stores, plus plenty of restaurants. Mitsukoshi and other department stores are right on your doorstep.

Great location, right next to the Sakae shopping district and station downstairs. The room size and view are well worth the price.

The public areas are exquisitely restrained, and the view of the neon nightscape from the high-floor room window is simply wonderful. That single view alone is worth the room rate. The room features many clever hidden designs, which are quite sufficient. The overhead lighting in the elevators and corridors is a bit dim, though that might just be the intended design style. The slippers are rather thin, and it's a bit of a pity that the sink and desk are combined into one, making a wet-and-dry separation impossible. Overall, I would still highly recommend it.

This hotel is located in Sakae, Nagoya's most central business district, occupying the upper floors of the iconic Chunichi Building. The front desk is on the 24th floor, offering an absolute panoramic view of the city.

I booked this hotel in advance for the National Day holiday, only to find the price plummeting right before my trip. Ctrip customer service tried to help, but the hotel made up excuses to avoid adjusting the rate, though Ctrip did offer a small subsidy for the price difference. As for the hotel itself, the location is great—very convenient for getting around with plenty of shopping options nearby. However, the rooms are tiny, the amenities are barely adequate, the cleanliness was mediocre, and the complimentary sauna was worse than nothing. At this price point, there are much better options available. Not recommended!

This hotel is located at Nagoya Sakae Station, with direct subway access from its basement (B1). The front desk is on the 24th floor, and breakfast is served on the 7th floor. There's also a supermarket and a drugstore downstairs! Definitely recommend it!
