The Hyatt is right by the Yellow River, and our river view room faced it directly, though there wasn't much to see on the other side. The room showed its age but was well-maintained. The bedding was high quality, with that familiar smooth and soft feel.
The location isn't far from the Iron Bridge; there are two bridges in between. We took a walk around the area, which lasted about an hour and a half. The Qing Shui Platform on the opposite side of the river was nice, and it wasn't crowded at night.
The biggest issue with the room facilities was the smoke smell. I'm not sure if it was coming from an adjacent room through the ventilation, but since we were only staying one night, we didn't bother to address it.
During Chinese New Year, we received a complimentary minibar with a good selection of drinks, more than we could finish. It was a nice touch to get to try some local specialties.
The front desk service was excellent. For food delivery, they have staff bring it up. I ordered a 'Fangha' (presumably a local dish/drink), which was quite ordinary, but at least I got to try it.
There's a pretty good beef noodle shop if you turn left when you exit the hotel.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the night market. Plus, the museum, Leiyin Temple, and Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring are all conveniently located along the same road as the hotel. The service is incredibly thoughtful; they contact you daily to confirm your breakfast delivery time for the next day, and they even upgraded our room! The newly renovated facilities and hygiene are both top-notch, and the hotel's cat is super charming and affectionate.

The hotel's rooftop view is absolutely stunning. The rooms are clean, tidy, and decorated with a charming cultural flair. You can even see Mingsha Mountain from the room windows. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. It's close to Mingsha Mountain, and after watching the sunset there in the evening, it can be difficult to get a taxi, but it's only about a 15-minute walk back to the hotel.

This hotel in Zhangye exceeded all expectations! Before arriving, I called to ask about self-service laundry and was pleasantly surprised to learn upon check-in that they offer a complimentary laundry service, which saved us a great deal of time and effort. The hotel also provided pick-up service, and the driver was already waiting for us at the station. The front desk staff were professional and attentive. During our three-day stay, we received welcome fruit every day, along with hot eye masks and earplugs (though the room was already very quiet). My child absolutely loved the creatively folded towel animals that appeared daily. The lobby had cold, warm, and hot water available, plus ingredients for Sanpao Tai tea – amenities even my own home can't match. The mattress and latex pillows were excellent, perfect for improving sleep quality and recovering energy after a long day of walking. Breakfast was delicious! Since dining options are limited near the Danxia scenic area in winter, having a good breakfast at the hotel was crucial. The front desk also provided a reliable and more cost-effective contact for car rentals than finding one ourselves. Next time I'm in Zhangye, Jinglong International will definitely be my first choice!

The hotel is very close to Zhangye West Station, and because we had a lot of luggage, we contacted them for airport/station transfer service, which was very convenient. When checking in, the staff learned that there were three of us and proactively offered a complimentary breakfast and arranged a room upgrade. The hotel's breakfast included freshly pulled beef noodles, 'laozao' (fermented glutinous rice), and more, and it tasted great. The 'Baifu' restaurant across from the hotel was also delicious. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended!!

The service and breakfast were both good. I even forgot something, and the hotel called to thank me for it. However, the strange thing about this hotel is that the air conditioning only turns on at 6 PM. I came back from Maiji Mountain in the afternoon and was really cold, wanting to rest in the room. But I ended up having to wear my down jacket indoors. Air conditioning only starting at 6 PM? This is the first time I've encountered something like this in all my years of traveling!

Great stopover near the airport with pickup and drop off service. The breakfast is buffet style. Too bad my flight was scheduled in the morning and I did not get to have breakfast.

The room was clean and well-equipped. However, the front desk service was just average. When I booked through Trip.com, there was supposed to be an upgrade, but the staff member seemed to have overlooked it. After I pointed out the issue, they paused for a moment, then spent a long time looking for the order, only to say that all rooms were full. Yet, Trip.com clearly showed available rooms. It was only after I threatened to contact Trip.com that they reluctantly said they'd make a room available for me, without a hint of apology, just annoyance at having to make the change. This incident left a really bad taste; it was clearly their mistake, but they made it seem like I was trying to get something for free.

The room was quite cozy, and the floor it was on was also pretty good. Getting around the area was convenient. However, I found the breakfast to be just average; even the beef noodles had tiny bits of shredded beef in them. The service attitude of the staff at breakfast really needs improvement; it doesn't match the hotel's standards. I hope these things will be better on my next visit.

Sand on floor on arrival. No towels at alll in the bathroom. I called reception for towels. Ok. Next day, the cleaners clean the room and remove the used towels but didn’t replace with new ones. Again I have to call reception to bring towels. My 3 nights there, the cleaning of the floors was really poor. Floors were not swept and I could see hairs on the floor. Ok. They were my own hairs, but still. Sweep the floor! Cleaners also do not remove used porcelain cups with clean cups. The furniture, and bedding are really nice. But shame about the poor cleaning job. Also, there is no place to hang up the towels in the bathroom. Very odd.

MM415680****The room was clean and hygienic, tidy and odor-free, the facilities were very smart, the breakfast buffet was plentiful, the receptionist was very friendly, there were many restaurants nearby making dining convenient, and the parking lot was large and parking was not a problem.
GGuest UserI only speak English and the family were so patient in using translation apps. They were very kind in picking me up from the bus station (arranged by previous hotel) , had a fabulous hot shower and got a delicious dinner. Up early and with a lift to the caves had a lovely quiet visit. So kind, very much appreciated. Only slight difficulty for me was the firm bed, but I was able to make it work using a spare quilt as padding. Would stay again.
SSALAMANDER.GIANTThe hotel's location is excellent, right next to one of the entrances to Dunhuang Night Market. A short walk straight and then a left turn brings you to Shazhou Night Market. I believe it's also a stop for the Mogao Grottoes bus. There are plenty of taxis available right outside, making it easy to catch a ride even before sunrise. When booking a day tour, we were among the first to be picked up, which meant we could snag good seats!
GGuest UserIt’s a dreamlike feeling and the wilderness experience is great!
When staying in the wilderness, the first thing is to look at the scenery. The scenery of the desert hills is not to mention. Although it is at the foot of the mountain, it is still refreshing.
It’s also great to take photos in an open space. They gave us guidance on how to take pictures of the starry sky and provided a mobile phone holder. It was great. PS. If you come here, be sure to ask the housekeeper or the boss for a candlelight lantern (the store will provide it for free). The atmosphere for taking photos is great. Got it
In terms of meals, we ordered a barbecue from the store and ate on the terrace of the room (four people can sit on it, and if more than four people eat on the sand below the terrace)
SScarletTheWandererOur group of friends had an amazing time at the Suyun Village Hotel in Jiuquan, Gansu. The staff and owner were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The owner, a talented artist, treated us like family, sharing his local and cultural knowledge over cups of delicious tea. We loved the spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, perfect for relaxation. The hotel had cozy spots inside and outside to soak up the sun while enjoying a good book. The hot pot dinner was mouthwatering and warmed us up on chilly nights. With its convenient location, we easily explored Jiayuguan Pass and the Great Wall. This hotel's hospitality was top-notch, and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!
BBamodaodeyuehanI booked this a month in advance, worried I wouldn't get a room, and the actual experience was fantastic. Booking during the off-season meant the price was very reasonable. The hotel's service deserves more than five stars; everyone, from the front desk to every staff member, made us feel right at home. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities are up-to-date. The free airport pick-up, rich and delicious breakfast, and the humidifier (a must-have in the dry Northwest!) were all great. Plus, there are so many adorable cats on the first floor!
GGuest UserIt is a bit far from the city center, and there are few restaurants around. The hotel itself has good service and is very quiet. The snacks and red dates in the lobby are delicious, and there is plenty of mineral water. When you meet the aunt who cleans the room, she will take the initiative to say hello. There is a self-service laundry room, which is very convenient. We went to Qicai Danxia and Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon for two days, but the itinerary changed later, so we only stayed for one night. The hotel also has free pick-up and drop-off service, which must be booked in advance.
MM17446****The front desk lady was beautiful and the service was excellent. I even got an upgrade to a larger room. The hotel's facilities and cleanliness were excellent. The breakfast was especially noteworthy, the best I've had on my trip to Northwest China. They had delicious dishes like salmon, boiled shrimp, and durian pastry. The video below was taken after our meal, and it was incredibly filling. I highly recommend staying at this hotel when visiting Jiayuguan.
GGuest UserThe biggest surprise during this stay was definitely the hotel's gym and laundry room – they truly elevated convenience to another level! The gym was fully equipped with everything you could need – treadmills, dumbbells, elliptical machines, etc. – and the space was clean and bright. Getting in a quick 30-minute workout before heading out each day left me feeling incredibly energized. The laundry room was a real lifesaver! Not only did it have automatic washing machines, but also dryers and even laundry detergent. My clothes came out soft and fresh after drying, meaning I no longer had to travel with a bag full of dirty laundry. On top of that, the room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the front desk service was incredibly attentive. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
