Hotel Chamade in Ghent is a delightful find! The modern design and cozy ambiance create a welcoming atmosphere. My room was comfortable and well-equipped, perfect for relaxation. Its location is ideal, just a short walk from the city center and attractions. The friendly staff provided excellent service, making my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a charming experience in Ghent!
Centrally located hotel right in front of the Cathedral, efficient staff, and quiet rooms. The bathroom was spacious with all amenities. For us, the bed and pillows were a bit too soft for a 3-night stay, and there was no mini-fridge for water or groceries, nor a kettle.
I had a fantastic stay! The hotel was spotlessly clean overall, and my room was meticulously serviced, making the environment impeccable. The soundproofing in the room was excellent, ensuring a quiet and comfortable atmosphere perfect for a good night's sleep. The location is superb, offering great convenience for getting around. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, making meals incredibly easy. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, covering all daily necessities. Overall, it offers great value for money, and my experience was exceptional. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.
Hotel Carlton in Ghent offers a warm welcome, spacious rooms, and excellent cleanliness. The staff are genuinely helpful, breakfast is generous, and transport links are convenient. It’s quiet yet close to the historic center, making it a comfortable, great-value base for exploring the city for leisure travelers and short stays.
Location-wise, it's right next to Ghent City Hall, super central! Most of Ghent's attractions are within a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, like Carrefour and McDonald's. However, because it's so central, it can get a bit noisy; you can still hear people on the street late into the night.
Service: The front desk staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic, and there's complimentary water.
Facilities: It's an older hotel, which is fine, but the TV isn't a smart TV so you can't cast to it. The air conditioning didn't seem to heat up enough, even when set to the maximum fan speed and highest temperature. On the upside, the room itself is very spacious.
Cleanliness: It was very clean.
Overall, for a few hundred yuan, staying in a chain hotel like this offers good value for money.
Amaaaaaazing Staff! It is super nice to check in with Arthur, who showed us the basic orientation of Gent and some personal recommendations on where to go (his recommendations are true to his word~ :D)
Room was clean!
There was free water provided
but a fridge would have been such a nice addition!
This place is great, very quiet. There's a small bus terminal right outside (many bus routes start there). The bar downstairs looks lively, but the residential area is completely undisturbed. You have to walk down a corridor to get to the rooms, and the corridor door requires a key card to enter, so there's no need to worry about bar patrons accidentally wandering into the residential area (it's very safe).
The hotel itself is also clean. Although there's a construction site nearby, I didn't see any construction happening, and I couldn't even hear any street noise (which I was quite happy about).
It's perfect for anyone arriving in Ghent by Flixbus, as it's less than a 10-minute walk (about 600 meters) from the Flixbus stop.
When you stay at Castanea in Merelbeke, you'll be next to a golf course, within a 15-minute walk of Rodeland Bicycle Trail 1 and The Cottage. This golf castle is 2.6 mi (4.3 km) from Ghelamco Arena and 3.6 mi (5.8 km) from Ghent University Hospital.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as bicycles to rent, or other amenities including complimentary wireless internet access and a fireplace in the lobby.
Buffet breakfasts are served on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and on weekends from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM for a fee.
Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 5 guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers.
On June 14th, I booked a one-night stay for July 5th at the Ghent Marriott Hotel through Ctrip. The room type was a Canal View Deluxe Room (King Bed), costing RMB 2885 (excluding breakfast).
To ensure a good canal view, I also made a special request via Ctrip, and they confirmed they would arrange it (see picture 2).
Upon arrival, I was extremely disappointed. During check-in, the receptionist seemed to avoid eye contact and asked us to see the room first. What we saw was a wall, and only by leaning out could we catch a glimpse of a corner of the canal (see pictures 3, 4, and video). How can this possibly be considered a Canal View Deluxe Room? Isn't this just playing with words? And the 'arrangement confirmed' reply I received was nothing but an empty promise!
Although we argued our case, the front desk claimed it was a system issue or a problem with the third-party platform, and that no other rooms were available. In the end, they compensated us with breakfast vouchers for two and two boat tour tickets.
We were very angry. If a canal view room wasn't available, they should have informed us; we could have booked another hotel offering much better value for money! Moreover, why should consumers suffer emotional and material damages due to a system error?!
Our primary reason for choosing the Marriott's Canal View Deluxe Room was specifically to open the window and enjoy the canal view! This was a huge disappointment!
Excellent stay, friendly staff, this hotel offers a minimalistic lean style genre Moxy and CitizenM. I stayed here last year and found the price-quality ratio excellent. My total stay now was 9 days.
The bar and restaurant are excellent, and the breakfast satisfactory for a European hotel (I live in Asia where you’d expect several warm meals, noodles and rice for breakfast!)
However, I extended my stay by a couple of days, and I don’t find that they handled this edge case too well. First a hotel staff member knocked on my door and asked why I hadn’t checked out. I explained the situation and all seemed fine. But later that day housekeeping staff barged into my room several times unannounced , seemingly unaware the room was still occupied (why is there no button with a don’t disturb sign? Or even an old school door hanger?). So please JAM, you need to improve your processes better.

TTak ChiGenerally the cleanliness of lobby floor public areas and room were above average 👍🏻👍🏻
Need to be careful when driving into that expo , ikea and the hotel zone as they located along with each others and shared the same directory board which the indicator bit small you might miss the hotel car park entrance
The front staff he is super friendly and helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I would say the amenities is worth for the price 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
HHuanqiuyuzhoulvxingjiaThis hotel was the most impressive one on my trip through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. It's located right in the heart of Ghent's scenic riverfront, a World Heritage site, one of Europe's top ten design hotels, and on the list of the world's top 100 hotels! Staying here, it truly lives up to its reputation. It's incredibly well-designed, opulent, a genuine antique with a strong sense of culture and history. The classic Baroque style is evident, and the furniture and decor are all traditional European. It exudes the luxurious feel of an ancient European palace! The breakfast was also excellent, especially the breakfast restaurant, which has fantastic views!

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, well-organized, and extremely comfortable. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the overall freshness of the space. The location is excellent—convenient, accessible, and close to everything I needed, which made getting around the city very easy. The front desk staff were also incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, making the entire stay even more pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
TTravel WWThis hotel has nothing but the front desk. The room is not on the same floor as the front desk. In addition to the excellent location, there is no other recommended price is too low. I don't know how this is listed. Four stars.
GGiles LawrenceThe room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from.
DDiane PHHands down best view from the room! Booked another night as I had a really good impression and experience - wish I had stayed longer! Bed is comfy and the room is...roomy enough. The ladies at the front were exceptionally accommodating for when I had issues checking out and checking back in. Staff is overall awesome! The only shower room is fairly well kept. For a small amount there will be everything that you will/might need: from towels, laundry/dryer, tea/coffee/beer/snacks, luggage storage, to kayaks. Didn't have to use the common kitchen but it seemed equipped. Really can't go wrong with the location - everything is within reach and the are is just simply beautiful day/night.

MMarisaMGreat location, right in the town centre with easy access to shops and restaurants. They have free all-day, self-service coffee, tea and hot chocolate, plus a water dispenser in the lobby. No-frills in the room - basic toiletries, good shower and flatscreen, but no kettle, no shower cap, no slippers, and no laundry service. Communication with reception is via chat but there's good free wifi throughout. Daily breakfast was scrambled eggs, meats, mushrooms, tomato, cucumber, cheese, bread, pastries, yogurt and cereal with a selection of coffees and teas. Oh, rooms are not soundproof so if you're a light sleeper, ask for one facing inside, not facing the street.
