This is our second time staying in this beautiful place. We are traveling with 6 seniors citizens. All we did was go out to hunt for food and come back to the residence to relax and one day we have a relative guest to come over and chit chat. It is highly recommended place to stay.
10/10 for my stay at ParkRoyal Penang Resort. This stay was a birthday gift for my 73-year-old husband. Thanks to ParkRoyal for the complimentary birthday cake which pleasantly surprised and delighted him. Overall service here was first class. It was from the warm and cheerful bell-hop Yusani to the helpful and thoughtful Asvathy at Check-in Reception, Transportation and Sight-seeing thoughtful and caring Angeline, Diligent Housekeeping Ali to thev cheerful Chanond who sent the birthday cake to our room…and also staff at Cinnamon and Javana Lounge. They all are pleasant and polite. They served with a smile and made us feel welcome all the time. Truly appreciated the warmth and hospitality of this hotel. The breakfast at Cinnamon was impressive, sumptuous and came with a wide variety of choices. We enjoyed our 2 breakfast thoroughly. So, we were happy and glad to have booked our room with breakfast.. There is also a Welcome drink with cookies at Javana Lounge. It was, indeed. a great start to our stay. It should be offered to all guests checking-in. For guests who would like sipping cocktaile by the beach or at Javana Lounge, there is a 20% discount for room-booking with Trip.com. We, indeed, had a pleasant, memorable and enjoyable stay at ParkRoyal. Would be back someday for more birthday stay here in future.
I just stayed for one night. Which was enough for me.
Be aware this is not part of the official Rainbow Resort Hotel. Upon seeing my confirmation, the receptionist told me my room was an Airbnb. The building is a hotel as well private rooms that are rented out.
The room itself was very spacious, 70 sqm with one bedroom and a living space. It had obviously been repainted recently (it smelt a fresh paint) so the walls were clean. Air conditioning and basic amenities were provided.
The building itself, has seen a lot of wear and tear. If you’re on a budget and want a spacious room it will meet your needs.
For the price I think it’s quite reasonable if you’re there for a short stay.
The hotel is next to a beach, and a swimming pool downstairs. There a few restaurants across the road.
Rooms is clean and spacious and sound proofing is good. We have a good night rest as thebbed is comfortable. Shower water pressure is good. Can have a good shower after a whole day work. Location is good for traveller too. Nearby have lots of eatery shops and walking distance to many places.
“I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a very pleasant experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests. Check-in was smooth and efficient, which made a great first impression after a long journey.
The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was especially cozy, allowing for a good night’s sleep, and the amenities provided were more than adequate for a relaxing stay. I also appreciated the little details, such as complimentary toiletries and the overall quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to unwind.
The hotel’s location is definitely one of its strong points. It was conveniently situated near key attractions, restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to get around without much hassle. This added a lot of value to my stay.
That said, there are a few areas where improvement could be made. Some parts of the room felt slightly dated, and occasional delays in service were noticeable during peak hours. However, these were relatively minor issues and did not significantly affect the overall experience.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service. With a few small improvements, it has the potential to be an even better place to stay. I would certainly consider returning in the future.”
The resort has a modern design and I was pleased with the level of service provided by the staff, who were consistently polite and helpful. In particular, I would like to commend the Indian bellboy for his excellent attitude and professionalism.
However, there were several areas that could be improved. The room carpet had visible stains, the in-room AI device was not functioning, and the TV channel selection was very limited, especially the absence of sports channels.
During breakfast, the food variety was limited and did not reflect local cuisine, with no roti canai or teh tarik offered. Additionally, bihun goreng ran out early and was replaced with maggie goreng. There was also a lack of staff presence and signage at the breakfast area, which caused some confusion for guests.
I had a wonderful stay at La Ferringhi Villa by ALV. As a solo traveller, I felt very comfortable, safe, and well taken care of from the moment I arrived.
The villa was exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained. Everything felt fresh and organised, which made it easy to relax and fully enjoy my stay. The location is perfect, peaceful yet convenient, with easy access to the beach and nearby restaurants. The amenities were great and thoughtfully prepared. I truly appreciated the comfort and attention to detail throughout the property.
I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality stay in Penang. I would happily return again.
The location was excellent — just steps away from the beach, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway, especially during the festive season
The breakfast selection was fairly good, with both local and simple Western choices. However, during peak hours it felt a bit crowded and some items ran out before being refilled quickly.
The staff were generally friendly, though service speed could be improved at times.
The room was comfortable enough for a short stay, but certain areas showed signs of wear and could use upgrading.
Overall, it’s acceptable for the price, but with some improvements in service consistency and breakfast management, the experience could be better
The room and bed were generally comfortable, and overall cleanliness was acceptable. However, the shower design allowed water to flow out easily and flood the bathroom floor. The balcony was also unpleasant to use due to frequent crows and pigeons.
Privacy was a concern, as the neighboring balcony was directly beside ours, making it possible for others to look into the room.
One issue that concerned me was seeing a housekeeping staff member squeezing a dirty wiping cloth on the balcony and letting the water drain outside. I did not take photos or videos because I did not want to cause trouble for the staff, but I believe hotel management should maintain stricter supervision and hygiene standards.
The walkway to the beach through the Miami Cafe was dirty and had many mosquitoes, and the beach itself was quiet with very few visitors. In my opinion, it is not an attractive beach destination.
On the positive side, breakfast was very good with a wide variety of options, consistent with the standard expected from Hilton hotels. Free parking was also provided, which was convenient.
Bayview Hotel Penang is excellently located near to good food and sights. The hotel staff are helpful and kind, and the hotel premises itself is grand though it has seen more gloried days in the past. The rooms are spacious and beds comfy, the pillows a little thin but one can request for extra foam pillows if required. i like that they have a QR code guest cam scan and ask for services online, which supercedes calling on the phone. Me and my friend enjoyed our stay though the view was a tat disappointing cuz we didn't get the full bay view. 🙂

RRayTFirst of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

TTini88We were a bit nervous after reading the reviews online but we had a really excellent stay. The rooms were super clean and modern with a beautiful sea view and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms had a kettle with teas, a hairdryer and iron and the shower was lovely and hot. Great AC too. The pool was lovely with a beautiful view of the sea and very nice and peaceful. The location was also great with a huge food market right opposite. Overall a really lovely stay
SstevenwonghhMy family and i had a very pleasant stay during my trip in this resort. The staffs was all friendly and professional. Having a 3d2n stays with bfast, we enjoyed the bfast and also the facilities in this resort. Definitely will come and stay in this resort again in the coming school holiday.
EEeleen PhuahThis hotel is absolutely fantastic! The price is reasonable, and its central location makes it super convenient for visiting attractions and enjoying delicious food. You can easily walk to Lebuh Kimberley (Kimberley Street) for famous night market food. For breakfast, the Sia Boey market (also known as Pasar Chowrasta) on Jalan Kuala Kangsar is a must-try – their duck kway teow soup, pastries, and 'gua wa mee' (Hokkien Mee) are all incredibly tasty. In the afternoon, head to Penang Road for the famous cendol and laksa. Right next to the cendol stall, there's a coffee shop serving amazing laksa, char kway teow, and oyster omelets. Seriously, whenever I return to Penang, this hotel will be my top choice!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.
JjazzietravelsFirst time going to Penang, loved the location of the hotel. Amazing view of the beach from our room, and saw fireworks one night was a treat. They keep the beach clean for the property, each day saw it being cleared. The pool is a good refreshing temperature. Majority of the time isn't overly busy. Good depth and size of pool. I enjoyed swimming laps each day and relaxing on the sunloungers. Kept clean, fresh towels available. Good pool toys for the kids. The gym was amazing, good equipment and machines- beautiful view of the ocean. I would prefer the air con colder as the one in there didnt cool the room down enough and if wasn't standing near it, it got very hot. The water provided in there also isn't cold which i didnt like ( is in a machine that says keeping warm, which i dont understand shouldn't drink warm water when working out, don't know if it's a culture thing? Wasn't to my liking anyway)
The room is spacious, bathroom bit tight but made do. Nice amenities topped up daily. Bed comfortable. Air con in room works amazing. Cleanliness in room noticed could've been better as after room being 'cleaned' noticed my hair still on floor and sand in corner from shoes. So seems the floor doesn't get swept or mopped as much as we thought.
Buffet breakfast was great, yummy food and lots of everything. Plenty of staff i just think they need to be more attentive and watch the buffet e.g kids touching food ( saw few things) and make sure the food is safe for other guests to eat.
We ate at the hotel lunch and dinner also, the staff mean well but there is a language barrier and was few instances where our meals didn't come out correct like we got a tomato soup when we pointed and said on the menu tomato pasta. We are patient enjoyed the food and kept going back despite the mistakes. We understand a second language can be difficult.
Amazing fresh cakes in fridge we just about tried them all.
The staff also did a lovely birthday song and candles on cake my husband brought.
Overall had a lovely time.
GGuest UserI've always wanted to stay at this hotel because of the drama 'Single Love, Dual City.' I admit I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews about cleanliness issues before booking. However, I decided to go ahead, and thankfully, my room was incredibly clean, comfortable, and spacious. The overall layout, especially the bathroom, was very relaxing.
As soon as I arrived, a butler helped me with my luggage and brought it up to my room. The front desk staff were also lovely, with excellent service attitudes!
The hotel's garden environment is absolutely fantastic too; you could spend all day taking photos downstairs and get some amazing shots!
The buffet breakfast, though, was quite average.
If you're coming for the ambiance, I honestly think you should book without hesitation. If I have another chance, I'd definitely choose this hotel again. It's truly relaxing!!!!!
FFengqingmuxixiThe rooms are great and the pool is beautiful, perfect for a 'staycation'. The bar next door has a fantastic fire show in the evenings, and the singer is really good, creating an amazing atmosphere. Breakfast was also delicious.
