this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

We chose The Lone Pine Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was worried that arriving too late on the first day would spoil the romantic vibe, but the hotel was incredibly accommodating. They proactively arranged for our cake and gifts to be delivered the next morning, allowing us to enjoy them leisurely – this thoughtful detail was a huge plus. As for the view, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a sea-view room. The endless blue ocean outside the window offered a superb vista. Even more surprising was that I had only booked breakfast for the first day because we had an early start on the second. Yet, the hotel upgraded our second day's breakfast for free – so incredibly considerate! The food was the major highlight of this trip: I highly recommend the fried chicken at the breakfast buffet; it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, usually gone before 11 AM. After 10 AM, there's also an outdoor Welcome Drink by the pool, and the adjacent Barbecue area offers amazing fried kway teow and roti canai. The overall dining atmosphere was very chill. The location is also very convenient, just a few minutes' walk to late-night snack stalls and the beach torch performance. Finally, I must praise the nighttime experience – many might mind the sound of the waves, but I absolutely love falling asleep to them; it's incredibly therapeutic and relaxing. It's basically a place where you can just unwind for a couple of days 🎶. One small suggestion: The hotel could perhaps optimize the color scheme of its lighting. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves a slow pace and a seaside getaway! 🌊🍗

The hotel is located right by the sea with direct access to the beach, offering a fantastic environment. It's very clean, and the rooms are comfortable. The king-size bed is huge, probably over 2 meters, easily accommodating our family of three without feeling cramped. Breakfast gets extremely busy, especially during peak times, and you might have to queue. However, the selection is extensive. The hotel also offers a buffet dinner for 198 MYR per person, with two adults getting one child free, available on Friday and Saturday evenings. While the variety isn't huge, all the essentials are there. There are restaurants on both sides of the hotel beach, all featuring fire shows. It's lively outside the hotel, but the rooms themselves are very quiet. The large balcony is lovely, perfect for enjoying a cup of tea. The hotel is quite far from both the airport and the town center, about an hour to the airport and 50 minutes to town. Taxis are readily available though.

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa is an ideal choice for a vacation in Penang. The entire resort is enveloped by lush, tropical gardens and boasts a private beach. From your window, you'll see swaying coconut trees and the Andaman Sea, with the evening sunsets being especially therapeutic. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bedding is soft and conducive to a good night's sleep. The resort's pools and relaxation areas are well-maintained. Breakfast offers a rich and diverse selection, with plenty of Southeast Asian specialties. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the hotel environment is tranquil and relaxing. There's no need to rush around; simply strolling through the gardens or enjoying the sea breeze by the beach is incredibly destressing. It's perfect for a slow-paced, relaxing getaway. I highly recommend staying here in Penang for a wonderful seaside experience.

We stayed at the Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang for our family trip. The hotel boasts a stunning beachfront location in Batu Ferringhi, lush green surroundings, and a great selection of pools, making it perfect for families with kids. Being right on the beach creates a wonderful, relaxing vibe. During our stay, something quite alarming happened: our child's smart watch was accidentally taken by another guest. We were incredibly anxious, but the hotel staff didn't brush us off. Instead, they actively intervened, proactively helped us contact and communicate with the other guest, and diligently coordinated and followed up. Ultimately, the watch was successfully returned to us. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout the process, genuinely helping guests resolve unexpected problems. Their sense of responsibility was truly touching. While the hotel's facilities aren't brand new, its prime location and exceptional service are a huge plus. Many thanks to the staff on duty. I highly recommend this place for family trips to Penang and would definitely prioritize it for future visits.

the location and hotel are great. the private beach is amazing. the facilities are as people said, quite dated. the aircon is noisy at night, and they charge you extra for another towel, and also make you go down to reception to get it. however, i am willing to overlook these for the amazing view. the side view is honestly good enough, especially during the day with the green.

I had an excellent stay at G Hotel Gurney in the Executive Suite. The suite was spacious, modern, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed and a great view. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Penang. The hotel’s location is fantastic, right next to Gurney Plaza and within walking distance of many popular eateries. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire stay even more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge was a great addition, offering a quiet and comfortable space to unwind with complimentary refreshments. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection of local and international dishes. Overall, everything from the room quality to the service exceeded my expectations. I would definitely choose G Hotel Gurney again on my next visit to Penang and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, directly facing the Andaman Sea, and it has its own private beach and swimming pool. I booked a sea-view twin room. Luckily, I read reviews beforehand, which mentioned that the sea-view twin rooms on higher floors are connecting rooms and can be noisy between them. I requested a non-connecting room, and the front desk moved me to a 1st-floor room. So, if you're booking a sea-view twin room, be sure to request this in advance, unless you're a family traveling together. Additionally, the room facilities are showing their age; the bathroom sink drains extremely slowly, and the faucet is loose. When showering, there's no separate wet and dry area, so water splashes everywhere, leaving the entire bathroom floor wet.
