First of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

ZuileThe hotel staff were incredibly dedicated and responsive to all our requests. The room was clean and tidy. The beach behind the hotel is a bit small, but it's shared with the neighboring hotels, so you can walk along it, and the scenery is still beautiful. However, the hotel's internal landscaping is fantastic. It's definitely worth another visit.

fhatihahOverall, I'm satisfied, but of course, there were a few things that weren't perfect, haha. Check-in was good and fast, even though there were a lot of people. There was complimentary juice while waiting to check-in. The swimming pool is great and big, with slides for kids too. The kids' room is amazing, with a ball pit, PS5 games, slides, and more! The kids' room is definitely the best 👍🏻 Breakfast was a bit disappointing because the table I got was hot. Didn't feel the air conditioning at all. The room was great, sea view, and clean. Parking was a bit difficult. It's first-come, first-served, or you'll have to valet park if you want secure parking. The staff were very friendly. Excellent.

Anonymous UserSeeing is believing! Just as many reviews mentioned, the ambiance has a charming old-money vibe, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The century-old rain tree in the hotel is truly something special. The pool beneath the rain tree offers a nice half-shaded area, which is a great touch.

The hotel environment is really nice, facing the sea, and you can enjoy the view while having breakfast downstairs. However, the facilities themselves are quite old. The hot water for showering at night was unstable, and the room lighting was a bit dim. For breakfast, they offer Western, Chinese, and Indian options, but the variety is quite limited.
The night market downstairs is great, and there's a Lotus (supermarket/shopping center) about 500 meters away. Overall, dining options in the immediate vicinity are sparse. There's a bus stop about 300 meters away where you can catch the 101 bus, which takes about 40 minutes to reach the city center.

Guest UserHighly recommend Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang! The overall experience exceeded my expectations, and it offers incredible value for money. If you opt for a sea-view room, you can avoid the early morning call to prayer from the mosque. Otherwise, the loudspeakers at 5:40 AM will definitely wake you up. You can also upgrade at the hotel, which might be a bit cheaper.
The scenery is absolutely stunning, truly 'god-tier.' Our room balcony directly overlooked the azure sea and coconut groves. The hotel has its own beach and a huge swimming pool, and the tropical gardens are perfect for taking amazing photos. The views are simply impeccable.
The entire staff provides attentive and thoughtful service. Special shout-out to the Chinese gentleman at the front desk! Communication was seamless, and he patiently answered all our questions about transportation and attractions. Check-in was efficient and friendly, and he was enthusiastic and meticulous throughout.
Among similar sea-view resorts, the price is very reasonable. The facilities are comprehensive and clean, making it suitable for both family trips and romantic getaways. We were extremely satisfied with this stay and will definitely choose this hotel again when we come back to Penang!

Jeevan NairMy recent stay at Bayview Beach Resort was unfortunately cut short due to a sudden family emergency, as I received news that my uncle had passed away during my trip. What was supposed to be a short relaxing getaway quickly turned into an emotional and stressful situation for me and my family.
Despite the circumstances, I truly want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the reception team and back office staff at the resort. From the moment I informed them about the situation, they handled everything with great empathy, professionalism, and understanding. The process of cancelling and modifying my second night stay was made smooth and hassle-free, which really helped ease my burden during such a difficult time.
Sometimes, it is not only the facilities or location that make a hotel memorable, but the kindness and humanity shown by the people working there. The staff genuinely showed care and patience while assisting me, and I am sincerely grateful for their support. Their understanding allowed me to focus on returning home and being with my family without additional stress.
Even though my trip ended unexpectedly, I still managed to experience the comfort and hospitality that Bayview Beach Resort is known for. The environment was peaceful, the stay was comfortable, and the service standards were commendable throughout my short visit.
Thank you once again to the reception and back office team for your compassion and assistance during a difficult moment in my life. Your kindness will always be remembered, and I truly appreciate the excellent customer service provided.

Anonymous UserWe had a pleasant stay although its just for a night. The downside is the time delay during check in which approximately around 10-20 minutes of waiting since our room has not completely prepared. It is a bit frustrating since we come at 3.30pm which 30 minutes late of the standard check-in time. However, the hotel had prepared extra bed (FOC) which we believe is a nice gesture from them to compensate the bad experience.
The room is spacious and got terrace with really nice beach view. The breakfast spread is full of variety and just nice.

SpenseahThe hotel is just beside Gurney Plaza. It is very convenient. The check in staff served with a smile and offer ice cream for 13 of us upon arrival. Room was clean and big.Min bar was free and replenished everyday.
We send 16 pieces for laundry but it came back 10 pieces. The remaining pieces came back after we called them. It left stains on my clothes.

Triple A TourRecently we stayed at Mercure Penang Beach and had an enjoyable experience overall.
The cleanliness of the room was satisfactory, and the general tidiness was acceptable. However, the hotel could improve the condition and maintenance of the carpets and flooring to enhance the overall guest experience.
The amenities provided were adequate and met basic expectations. One aspect that stood out was the room service team, who delivered excellent service throughout my stay. Kudos to the staff for their professionalism and responsiveness.
The room TV setup could be improved. Many modern hotels now offer Google TV or Android TV, which provide a better entertainment experience and more viewing options for guests.
The swimming pool is great for children and families. However, I would suggest relocating the shower area closer to the pool entrance. Currently, it is located quite far away, which may discourage guests from showering before entering the pool.
One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its location. Guests have direct access to the beach, making it an excellent choice for beach activities and seaside relaxation.
The breakfast selection was impressive, offering a wide variety of choices. The food was also tasty and enjoyable, making breakfast one of the highlights of the stay.
The main area that requires improvement is the parking facility, which could be better organized and more convenient for guests.
Overall, Mercure Penang Beach offers a pleasant stay with excellent room service, a good family-friendly pool, direct beach access, and a great breakfast spread. With improvements to the TV system, pool shower location, flooring condition, and parking facilities, the guest experience could be even better.
