DDavidPerfect service. 24-hour reception. Located a little outside Guimaraes, but within walking distance of the historic center. Free parking opposite the entrance. Huge room. All the amenities. The only thing missing is a bit of soundproofing, because you can hear the cars on the first floor. Otherwise, everything was fine.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in an ancient monastery and it makes all the charm and attraction of the place if you like ”old stones and historical places”. The renovation has kept the original building and improved it to todays comfort. The rooms ( cells) are small but well fitted with a comfortable bed and functional bathroom. You can feel History when you enter the building and anywhere you walk . They have a big outdoor park for pleasant walks .
The church adjacent to the Hotel is worth visiting. I was staying on a weekend and I attended the Sunday mass.
My only negative note is on the breakfast which is very disappointing in terms of product variety and quality. The set up of the breakfast buffet is very poor and not attractive at all. The breakfast team is not as welcoming and friendly as the front desk or lady at the bar, which is not meeting one's expectations in such a place.
JJoão Aires MartinsÓtima qualidade de serviço, pequeno almoço muito bom, instalações limpas e boas.
Muita simpatia e profissionalismo da equipa presente.
GGuest UserThe location is beach front, so walking with toddlers to the beach and back- awesome. Food was quite good, some rooms are definitely older than the others, but all was clean. For kids- playground, and a pool. Pool though was a little cold, yet it's probably just a thing in Portugal.
TTiagoIt is a nice hotel right in front of S. Bento’s church. It has a couple of restaurants nearby but we always had dinner at the hotel. Great food, both breakfast and dinner, and each plate had a very generous amount of food, good enough to share with another person. Pillows are too soft, beds are good, rooms are also nice but are not sound proof. You can access the Spa for an hour as long as you book it in advance and it costs you 10€ per person.
ААнтон МангилевThe most important thing — this is not really spa hotel. There is spa center across the road, but the only one benefit that you have as a guest of the hotel is 10% discount. In total if you want to have a spa, you must pay extra 30 euros per person per day. I think its not so fare for guests. And the second thing is that you have only scrambled eggs and bacon as a hot dish for the breakfast.
In the rest moments — everything is fine, staff is friendly, room was clean (but there is no fridge or mini-bar, that strange).
Aa4292The hotel is very close to the city center and can be reached on foot. There is also a large supermarket nearby, which is very convenient. There is an underground parking lot for 10 euros per day. The breakfast is very rich and the orange juice is freshly squeezed.
AAndrewThe service was five star from the initial greeting through to check out. Accommodation was modern with glass doors and quality fittings plus a coffee machine which was a nice touch. Spa was very good although you need a shower cap for the pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was excellent and they even provided gluten-free pastries which was a lovely touch. Finally, the vineyard and surrounding areas are stunning.
BBaskerDefinitely top on the list if I comes back to visit Braga again; a lovely town w a good mix of old and new.
The post graduate student manning the Uni Minha Loja has a superb personality, we love his recommendations.
