This is a must-stay hotel when you visit Christchurch! The environment is lovely, and the food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. The service is very attentive. I've stayed here many times already, and the cleanliness is always top-notch. Plus, it's really close to several attractions.

Initial room was too small for 2 guys. Happy to have Jack, one of the hotel staff who has kindly helped us to change to a nicer room. The room is bigger and rooms to walk around and put our things. Breakfast is simple.

It was pretty good, though the location isn't ideal. It took us about 20-30 minutes to walk from the train station. Getting to the airport required a taxi, which was easy to hail. What stood out to me was the dryer – the room had an individual one that worked really well. On our second stay, we got a combo washer/dryer in the same room type, and that wasn't as good. So, if you need laundry facilities, try to get a room with a separate dryer. I didn't have breakfast. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and quick. The room was quite clean and hygienic. It's a new hotel with large, bright windows. The price wasn't too expensive, I remember paying around 700-800 RMB a night, even in the peak season of January. That might be because I had pre-purchased a package voucher. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it; it's good value for money. I didn't take any pictures of the room.

The beds in the twin room were spacious enough; one bed would suffice for a family of three or even four. The room itself was quite large, featuring a corner sofa area that was perfect for organizing luggage and other belongings. The hotel's location was a bit tricky to find, as the name and logo weren't very prominent, leading us to drive around in circles a few times. If you're driving, I'd recommend doing some research beforehand to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. The restaurant downstairs at the hotel served excellent food. If you're planning to go for brunch on the weekend, I suggest making a reservation in advance. In the evening, the handcrafted cocktails were top-notch.

The location is near the city centre and the riverside market, within walking distance. We booked a deluxe triple room with three single bed and a private bathroom, which is awesome. However, there might be some noise from the outside during midnight which couldn’t be blocked fully by the windows.

Upgraded to a top-floor room as a platinum member. The room wasn't huge, but the view was great. Check-in at the front desk was very friendly; there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, but communication was smooth. Crowne Plaza Christchurch boasts an excellent downtown location, within walking distance of Victoria Square, the Avon River, and the Cathedral. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with some offering city and river views. Breakfast is generous, and the service is professional and attentive. The hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center and other facilities. Overall, it was a comfortable and efficient experience, perfect for both business and leisure travelers, making it a top choice for accommodation in Christchurch.

We had a wonderful stay at Novotel Christchurch Airport. The location is unbeatable — literally just a short walk from the airport terminal, making it incredibly convenient, especially for travellers with young children. We stayed for one night with our toddler as we had an early morning flight the next day, and it was the perfect choice. Being able to rest properly without worrying about airport transfers made our journey so much smoother. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped for our family. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out, giving us a relaxing stay before our flight. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. A special mention to the concierge team, who kindly gifted our toddler a cute little Kiwi bird plushie. It was such a thoughtful gesture and brought a huge smile to his face. Small touches like these really make a difference and leave a lasting impression. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Great service, fantastic location, and family-friendly hospitality. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Christchurch.

The common room is equipped with a kitchen, microwave, oven, and refrigerator, which is great for long-term stays. The room itself is small but functional, perfectly fine if you just need a place to sleep and don't have any special requirements. Be aware of the downstairs bar's operating hours, as the music will play until they close. It gets much quieter after closing. Also, please remember that check-out is always at 10:00 AM. We had seen 12:00 PM listed on the Trip system when we booked and were informed by housekeeping that the time on Trip was incorrect. After clarifying, we weren't charged any extra fees.

Great place to rest and unwind after a long flight to Christchurch. The beds were comfortable, rooms were warm, strong shower and came well equipped. Front desk was very helpful and extended our checkout time slightly, which gave us more time to rest so that was very much appreciated. Overall great value for money.

The interior & door is a bit old, but it is very comfortable to live. I stayed here for 3 nights and came to clean up the room every day. The counter staff was very kind and very good. There is a restaurant next to it. The hotel also has a passage to the restaurant, but I haven't tried ~

GGuest UserMy friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well! The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details. The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up. Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :)) I didn't get many good photos but here you go!

GGuest UserI was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

AAxinwukongThe location is fantastic! It's convenient for getting everywhere. The cathedral is right downstairs, and it's not far from the lakeside market or the Cardboard Cathedral, all within walking distance. The sightseeing bus stop is also close by, and the Avon River gondola rides are nearby too. Taking a taxi to the Botanic Gardens, the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, and the art gallery isn't far either. Both New Brighton Pier and Sumner Beach are about 10 kilometers away by taxi, similar to the distance to the airport, and Uber fares are reasonable. Overall, I'm satisfied. Just a minor note, it seemed like the shampoo and other amenities weren't checked and might have run out without being noticed.

TTrav3L bUgThe hotel was truly amazing and a wonderful place to call home for a few nights. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything! Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, utensils…everything! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a washing machine and dryer too! There is a working fireplace and the views were stunning ❤️Ours was the two bedroom villa; one room has a bathroom attached with a jacuzzi tub and the other bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom. This bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The second bedroom is actually two super singles joined together so you could possibly request for that configuration. We found that the shower stall in the smaller bathroom has a poor design as water flows from the shower through the grooves between floor tiles and makes the whole place wet. This was perhaps the only down side to this place. The good at the restaurant is reasonably priced and wonderful quality. The location of the hotel is strategic for trekking to the Rakaia Gorge and also for driving to Edoras (or Mt Sunday) where LOTR’s filming took place.

GGuest UserI had a cosy and comfortable stay. The friendly staff at the reception offered a complimentary shuttle to the airport next morning, a service which I had not realized was available. The staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Thoughtful gestures included offering a bottle of fresh milk, which was an unexpected but lovely touch, as well as assistance in carrying of luggage to both room and on board shuttle van. All these small acts of kindness made me feel so welcomed, especially on my last night in New Zealand. :)

GGuest UserI booked a mountain-view room, and it was on the first floor. It was a duplex, one-bedroom with a living room and a balcony. Free parking was a plus. The room came with a full set of kitchen utensils. The hotel is right across from the lake, and there's a supermarket and restaurants nearby. The front desk staff were incredibly patient and helpful. It was also super convenient to walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd for stargazing at night.
