Love this hotel. Location is fantastic. Just next to the Kumamoto train, tram and bus station. Booked the lifestyle room, with 2 double bed and a sofa bed for 3 adults and comes with access to 4th floor for unlimited liquor, soft drinks, juice, tea, nuts and instant noodles.
However, orange juice ran out on 3rd day and dispenser dispense super diluted juice. Anyway small matter.
Toilet area is big (comparing to Japan standard), with split toilet, bathroom, wash basin, wardrobe and change area. Interestingly with see-through bathroom door. However, you can lock the entire toilet access.
Room is clean and bed is comfortable.
Price is also reasonable.
The hotel is very grand. I chose a random room and was assigned a large room. When I arrived at the hotel, I learned that the room rate included a room and two meals. There was also the Jixiang Hot Spring (five outdoor pools) 1 kilometer away. I had to soak in it before dinner. One, the staff told me that the meal time was 7:30, and it was nearly 8:00 when I entered. It turned out that the buffet dinner was only at 9:00, so I was in a hurry. The hot spring in the hotel is also very good. The small wooden bridge and the stream near the hotel are good places to take pictures.
The hotel employees all of them were showed a good attitude and communication was no problem for foreigners.
The location is great — it’s close to Kumamoto Castle, and there’s a shopping mall just about a 10-minute walk away.
I made a reservation for a triple room for two nights. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and the air conditioner could not adjust the airflow direction, which caused us to catch a cold.
One more thing, the room key had to be returned and kept at the counter whenever we went out for the day.
This aparthotel offers the convenience of an in-room washing machine, microwave, and induction hob. However, housekeeping is only done once every three days. Guests need to bag their own trash and leave it, along with used towels, outside the door for daily collection. The location is excellent, with two train stations (Gofukumachi and Kawaramachi) nearby, making transportation very convenient.
This is definitely a fabulous and fantastic experience living in a Ryokan, and this Ryokan is also reputable among local people, which means it is highly recognized by Hitoyoshi residents. Some local residents also spend their time in this Ryokan as a relaxing journey. I ordered the room with breakfast served, and it looked so amazing and delicate. I hope to visit here again in the near future if there will be any chances. I absolutely love this little town.
The hotel is near a very quiet residential area. There are also delicious restaurants near the hotel. Guo Liangran's wife is right. It is a wise decision to go back to the hotel for dinner. However! The hotel does not have regular catering. You need to make reservations in advance to eat. Moreover, the English of the staff is really poor. This is the most frustrating thing for me since Japan. However, the park near the hotel is worth a visit. I recommend it with my beautiful wife!
Very well kept and clean onsen ryokan with two private onsens that can be booked, and gender separated large onsens. Food and service was also very good. Well appointed and large rooms with all amenities required including shower and toilet.
The location is superb. After arriving at Kumamoto Airport, you can take the airport bus to 'Kamitori' and the hotel is right there. It's in the heart of Kumamoto city, directly opposite a classic department store with Kumamoto-themed products, perfect for shopping. The tram stop is just a short walk away, offering easy access to the JR station and various attractions. The commercial pedestrian street is right next door, making it incredibly convenient for finding food every day.
From my room window, I could see Kumamoto Castle. The room was clean, and I was especially pleased with the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom. Although the hotel is a bit old, the rooms have been renovated, and the air conditioning is very powerful. Upon entering the room, there was a faint scent of disinfectant, which made me feel very assured about the cleanliness – typical of an established Japanese brand. You can tell the hallway carpets are old, but there was no musty smell, so I was satisfied with the hygiene.
Next time I visit Kumamoto, I'll definitely stay here again. It's just too convenient!
The hotel's service was really good, but the facilities are seriously outdated. At ¥1200 per night without breakfast, I expected a much better stay. My biggest complaint is that the duvet didn't have a cover, only a sheet placed over it for hygiene, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well the first two nights, and by the third night, I couldn't stand it anymore. I talked to the hotel, and they finally provided a duvet with a cover, allowing me to get a good night's sleep. This definitely doesn't meet four-star room standards. As for the location, it's convenient enough to get to Kumamoto Castle by tram. However, there aren't many dining options around the hotel, making it inconvenient to eat out. I'd recommend the hotel's lunch buffet, which offers great value for money. If you're staying here, I suggest adding breakfast to your booking, as finding places to eat nearby is difficult.

GGuest UserWe had a great stay at Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park. We booked a room in the South Building, which was spacious, clean, and had a large, comfortable bed. The hotel provides yukata robes in various colors, which was a lovely touch for guests to enjoy the onsen experience.
♨️ The onsen was large and relaxing — perfect after a day of exploring Aso.
🚗 Parking was very convenient, located right next to the hotel. Just across the parking area, there’s a 24-hour convenience store called Obentou Hirai offering ready-made bentos, hot meals, ramen, and udon — extremely convenient for late-night snacks or quick meals.
🍱 We chose a room-only package without meals, and in the morning, we visited the local souvenir and food center at Aso Station. It had a great selection of local foods and breakfast options, plus plenty of gifts and souvenirs to bring home.
Overall, a comfortable stay with everything we needed nearby. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the Aso area!
NNadezhda ZinovevaVery nice hotel. The rooms are cozy, they give you a yukata, all the necessary accessories. Breakfast is good, and dinner is absolutely magnificent - unlimited sushi, fruits, meat, delicious desserts and ice cream. A mountain river flows under the windows. Excellent home onsen of two types - I liked the open one. Shower only in the onsen. They took you to the bus stop. You can pour excellent coffee in the lobby. I liked everything very much!

GGuest UserThe hotel room was very spacious and clean. Our room faced the east and just next to the sea, so we could watch the sunset with sea view; it was very beautiful!
There are men & women salt baths available for guests on the ground floor. There are ample car parking lots.
Had breakfast just next to the sea! The spread was quite good with salad, rice, few local dishes, fish, soup, natto, etc. Dinner set meals with fish/sashimi were really fresh and delicious.
We had a peaceful and happy stay. Staff were friendly, attentive and warm too. I was surprised to receive a souvenir when I check out!
