convenient location and very clean and large room. washing machine was a huge help, and the lack of a dryer was not an issue at all as previously feared because their bathroom heater / air dryer was more than sufficient. will stay again
From the hotel entrance, the friendly guidance, the room was spacious and clean, the amenities were good, and the bathroom and bathtub were separate, so I was able to sleep without being disturbed, which was great. Also, the hot spring water was really good, and the breakfast was also really good. I think I will visit again next time. 😊
This is a fantastic resort! With the dinner and breakfast package, you practically don't need to leave the hotel for meals. The resort offers a wide range of entertainment facilities, including a swimming pool and a mini lazy river. The onsen (hot springs) are also excellent, with each bath providing a different scenic view. It's conveniently located about 1 km (a 15-minute walk) from Aso Station, making it very easy to get to the volcano crater.
It’s the first hotel that I’ve been to in Japan that had a normal check-in procedure through the receptionist rather than a machine, and you’re greeted upon entry. The location is so perfect and considering it’s right next to the train station, I didn’t hear a thing. Also the room for the price was very comfortable and spacious!
This is the largest onsen hotel in Kurokawa; in fact, it's the only large-scale hotel there, all others are inns. The hotel itself is quite spacious, featuring three public baths and two private onsens. If there are many people, you might have to wait in line at the entrance, but it's usually not too long.
It operates on a one-night, two-meal basis. Dinner is a buffet with a good variety of dishes. The taste is decent, nothing spectacular but not bad either. I personally quite enjoyed the breakfast, which was also very plentiful.
Our room had a bed, not a tatami mat. I thought it was pretty good, even though it was small. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area and was very clean, although the yukata was a bit unflattering. The hotel has a rooftop with what was supposed to be a telescope, but it was out of order when we visited. In the evenings, there's a mini-bar offering some drinks and snacks.
Everything is good. Only surprised fact is the check in and check out time.
We booked two rooms, King Double and Executive King Suite. The double room can be checked in from 15.00hr and checked out before 11.00hr next day which is normal and understandable. For Suite, check in time is 17.00hr and check out time is 9.00hr next day. It seems Suite got inferior benefit than the normal room. You pay more for less in Suite. Understand that it is hotel policy but I never experienced different policy for different room type in the SAME hotel. So, be aware of this.
JAL's service really deserves a thumbs up; many Chinese service industries could learn from them. My earring fell into the sink, and I'd pretty much given up hope. But the lady at the front desk and a gentleman went to great lengths to help me find it. I'm so grateful!
This was my second stay here. It's less than a kilometer from Kumamoto Shinkansen Station, right next to the Shirakawa River. After leaving the hotel, you cross a bridge and can then take a leisurely stroll along the clean riverside path. Another bridge brings you to Kumamoto Shinkansen Station. The whole walk takes about 15 minutes. The hotel is a bit older, but overall it's still very clean and pleasant, and the breakfast is quite good. There's a Japanese restaurant called Korin next to the smoking room on the first floor, and the food is delicious. The rooms are pretty clean, and while the bathrooms are small, they're perfectly acceptable. In terms of location, it's certainly not as convenient as Bloom right next to Kumamoto Station. You won't find any convenience stores nearby; the closest one is a LAWSON about a 10-minute walk behind the hotel.
I like it very much. I booked a single room so it is relatively small. But there are only three rooms on the first floor, which is very quiet. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom. It is very convenient to heat food, pour water, and drink coffee. You can also borrow the boss's bicycle for free to go around. I rode to Tengu Bridge in the rain, but unfortunately the road was under construction. But riding along the way, it was really rural scenery, very quiet and comfortable!
If you take the bus, actually get off at Hitoyoshiyakusho Station and walk back about 100 meters. The Lawson convenience store is right next to the hotel, which is very convenient. But everyone will definitely go to Hitoyoshi Station to check in. It still takes at least 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to Hitoyoshi Station, which is a bit of a road. Of course, people who like to run wildly think it’s okay, but those of us carrying big bags still hope to stay within 500 meters.

TTsubaki UmisachiThis is definitely a fabulous and fantastic experience living in a Ryokan, and this Ryokan is also reputable among local people, which means it is highly recognized by Hitoyoshi residents. Some local residents also spend their time in this Ryokan as a relaxing journey. I ordered the room with breakfast served, and it looked so amazing and delicate. I hope to visit here again in the near future if there will be any chances. I absolutely love this little town.

GGuest UserThe room was new and the service was good. You absolutely must try the complimentary 60-minute hot spring bath; although it's a large public bath, the environment is very comfortable. The location is a 3-minute walk from Suizen-ji Temple and about a 17-minute taxi ride from Kumamoto Castle. Breakfast and dinner were also delicious.
GGuest UserThe resort location is accessible actually by bus from tateno 立野 station and the last bus is in the evening you may check the timetable online. We did not drive and leaving the accommodation is less convenient because all taxis were booked out but the staff was very friendly as to driving us to the nearby train station to continue our journey to Aso Volcano.
Service was good. The private onzen was amazing and we were able to use it for one hour. The public bath was good too but the amenities they provided inside were not as enough, eg they don't have comb for ladies and make up removing pads. Other than that, cleanliness was amazing and staff were friendly, rooms had amazing Mountain View's.
