I stayed for three days and ordered Eggs Benedict for two consecutive mornings; the breakfast was quite good, with a variety of breads, fruits, and salads. The room was a bit cramped for three people. The hotel itself was very clean, and they came to tidy up and change towels every day. However, going up and down the hill daily was a bit tiring. After two days, I discovered a shortcut: if you turn left from the train station, there's a small path with an elevator that takes you directly up the slope. Cross the road, and you're at the hotel. This was especially helpful with luggage, much easier than climbing the hill.

The biggest strengths of Roamer Brisbane are definitely its location and staff. It's directly opposite Roma Street Station, making it incredibly convenient for public transport and airport connections. Every staff member I interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Another highlight is the in-house café/bar. The coffee was excellent and quickly became part of my daily routine. That said, the room itself left a lot to be desired. While the price point starts to make more sense once you see the condition of the rooms, they are noticeably worn and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom in my private room was particularly disappointing. It flooded every single time I took a shower and the shower head was loose, which made using it quite frustrating. Overall, this is a good option if you're looking for a convenient location, great staff, the fastest wi-fi I've ever experienced and good coffee, but don't expect modern or particularly well-maintained rooms (they were clean, though).

The location is fantastic, right at the end of the main shopping street. You can literally just walk downstairs and you're there. We were able to walk to several attractions from the hotel. The front desk for check-in is shared by two hotels, which wasn't very clearly indicated, and I was quite anxious while waiting in line. It's a pretty big hotel with lots of guests, and no matter which building you're in, there's always an elevator out of order. It seems like they always have to have one of the three elevators shut down for maintenance.

The hotel has been recently renovated, so all the facilities are brand new. It's conveniently located right across from the tram stop, making it super easy to get around. They assigned me a high-floor room with a sea view, which was lovely – very comfortable, clean, and quiet. I even got to enjoy the sunrise from my room! Plus, they offered luggage storage after check-out, which was a thoughtful touch.

The environment here is absolutely impeccable, I must say. The lobby, rooms, pool, and rooftop restaurant are all beautifully decorated. As for the facilities, they're also excellent. Being a new hotel, everything is very modern. However, the bathroom has one major drawback: there's nowhere to put your phone if you're in the toilet area. Cleanliness is very good. Rooms are only cleaned if you notify the front desk daily, and that 'clean room' light doesn't seem to do much. Service, though, was just mediocre. The staff at the rooftop restaurant, in particular, had a terrible attitude, acting completely uninterested. The front desk staff were quite good at check-in, but poor communication during shift changes led to a significant amount of money being unjustly charged to my credit card. I only discovered this because I noticed the unreasonable charges in time. It took involving Trip.com and my bank to resolve it, especially since the charges happened 3 days after I had already left the hotel, with no email notification whatsoever. If I hadn't been vigilant, I wouldn't have known about these losses, as they only appear on the statement – this is truly awful. There's even one charge I'm still unclear about, but it's too late to investigate further. So, when staying at this hotel, you absolutely need to keep a close eye on your bill! This whole ordeal even affected my subsequent vacation, as I spent every day trying to sort this out!

Room was pretty good, check in process was a little slow but staff were very apologetic, loved the info and links via text, unfortunately no wifi details were left on the desk (I didn't ask or complain tho cuz I had my own internet). The only real downer was I went to the bistro for dinner and the footy was on super loud and I really couldn't enjoy my meal and when I complained and asked if this was the bistro my concerns about how loud it was were completely dismissed. The also had a sports bar so I don't understand why the bistro had to be so loud. I thought it was a bit rich being charged $2 for a takeaway container despite the fact i couldn't sit and enjoy my meal due to the footy (qld teams weren't even playing either). Otherwise everything else was good.

The hotel staff provided excellent service, but the facilities and dining options were just average. The surroundings of the hotel were very pleasant, and it's a convenient location with lots of people around. The staff were also very polite.

The location is actually pretty good, and the front desk staff were very responsive. There's also parking available. If you're craving instant noodles late at night, there's a Korean supermarket about a five-minute walk away, and a public microwave downstairs.

CCrouching Koala Hidden EmuStayed at the Wyndham in Surfers Paradise for a family weekend away and overall it was a solid choice. As Gold Coast locals we didn’t really need the constant upsell on tours and activities, but I can see how interstate or overseas visitors would find that useful. The location is the real strength here — easy walking distance to Cavill Avenue, directly opposite Q1, and the observation deck nearby was great for the family. Very convenient without needing to constantly drive around Surfers. Our king-sized room was spacious, comfortable and worked well travelling with a young family. The hotel itself felt clean and well maintained. One thing worth noting for visitors is that the Hamilton Street beach entrance is still showing the effects of Cyclone Alfred from 2024, so beach access in that immediate area is not quite back to normal yet. That’s obviously outside the hotel’s control, but useful for travellers planning beach days. Overall, a good stay if you want a central Surfers Paradise base with plenty within walking distance.

Ssuper fishWe stayed for four nights over the Easter holiday in a panorama sea view room in the new tower. First of all, the location is excellent. The pool area has a sandy beach, and compared to the Hilton next door, the water was much clearer and very pleasant. The view is absolutely beautiful. However, when the tide goes out, it turns into what feels like a “panoramic mudflat view,” so I would recommend carefully considering the timing of your stay. On the other hand, there were several issues with the room. There is no balcony, and the windows cannot be opened. There were mosquitoes in the room, and I was bitten multiple times, which caused itching and swelling. The insect repellent device in the hallway was empty, which made me question the quality of housekeeping management. When I spoke to a female staff member at reception, I was told that only body spray repellent was available, and no further assistance was offered, so I had to purchase and install my own insect repellent. In addition, there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom. The mirror and sink were not properly cleaned and appeared dirty. The room and hallway also had a moldy smell, and due to the humidity, the bed linens felt damp. The duvet was thin and not very comfortable. As I am sensitive to smells, these issues made me feel nauseous and unwell. Later, my husband spoke to a male staff member at reception. Although the hotel was fully booked and we were unable to change rooms, he responded with sincerity, apologized thoroughly, and instructed housekeeping to carry out a deep cleaning. When we returned from going out, the bathroom had been properly cleaned and the sewage smell was gone. The moldy smell in the room did not completely disappear, but it had been masked with deodorizer, and we were able to sleep well that night. However, the same issues returned the following day. As it was the Easter holiday and other hotels were fully booked, we had no choice but to stay until the end of our reservation. Afterward, I checked reviews and found many similar complaints about the moldy smell, which made me regret not researching more thoroughly beforehand. I had assumed that as a five-star hotel, it would be fine. Overall, the reception staff were kind, friendly, and professional. In particular, the male staff member who assisted us was excellent. On the other hand, I felt that the quality of housekeeping needs improvement. In my opinion, these issues are largely due to a design flaw—specifically, the building was designed with aesthetics prioritized over functionality by the construction company and architect, resulting in rooms where windows cannot be opened despite the humid tropical climate. The older tower, which has balconies and windows that can be opened, may not have the same problems. I would not recommend this hotel to those who are sensitive to smells, but for those who are not, it can still be a wonderful place to stay given its location and facilities.

GGuest UserAn absolutely excellent place stay, would recommend, even just based on the staff and the breakfast. I observed that great care was taken of people checking in to stay who would be going to the hospitals local to the area. Check-in was so easy, and the reception staff was very kind. Things I loved: * the included healthy breakfast, * free on-site parking *Ferrari in the reception area (no idea why it's there, and I'm no car enthusiast, but it is a classy touch) * very friendly and kind staff * neat and good layout of room * comfortable bed * good air conditioning * friendly people throughout the building * walking distance to Chermside shopping centre * excellent price Thing I didn't like as much: * not really sound-proofed, you sometimes hear sounds from other rooms and hallways * the balcony area did have a bit of a smell in the early evening, dissuading me from eating outside until later on - this might have just been the day I stayed. It was nice enough later to leave the door open and have a bit of a breeze while sleeping. Highly recommended.

GGuest User⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall stay at Brisbane Marriott We recently stayed at the Brisbane Marriott  for my daughters 21st and were genuinely impressed by how lovely the hotel is and how amazing the staff were. The warm, welcoming service started from the moment we arrived at valet parking and continued throughout our stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and did their best to assist us. The rooms themselves were nice and comfortable, although we did notice some wear and tear, particularly with the bathroom and bedroom cabinetry which was scratched and broken. The beds also felt quite small for two adults and made sleeping a little squishy. Our biggest concern, however, was the air-conditioning. When we first walked into the room it was set at 18 degrees, which we thought would be perfect—especially with four girls getting ready, expecting a cool room so our makeup wouldn’t melt. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. The room felt like a hot box from the start. The staff were fantastic and came to check and reset the system twice, but by the time we returned at 1am, it was still extremely hot. It was uncomfortable enough that one of our group decided to go home because she couldn’t sleep in the heat. At that hour, there was also no one at the front desk to seek further assistance from. We did mention this at checkout, as we genuinely expected that a well-known, reputable hotel like the Marriott would not have such an issue with air-conditioning. It was disappointing, as everything else—from the service to the overall atmosphere—was lovely. Massive shout out to the male staff member who collected our bags both at arrival and departure (sorry wasn’t able to recall you name) you are a great asset to the hotel!! With improvement to the room cooling, this would have been a fantastic stay. The staff truly are the highlight of the hotel.

AAnonymous UserI was mostly happy with the resort. There were some things missing like more food options (only two restaurants) and small luxuries like a sauna for example. It’s also hard to rate the staff as you had some incredibly helpful staff and then some real depressing ones that were just rude. The only other thing that was a bit of a shock was that the beaches were just full of dead coral and no sand. I hadn’t been to one of the islands in the Whitsundays so I was surprised to see that. The photos of the resort did not show this so it would have been nice to know so it didn’t lead to disappointment. Some positives though is that the resort was beautifully designed and they offered a lot of free water activities like kayaking for example. The buffet breakfast was also really nice.

The hotel location was a short walk to the beach & paradise center where all the food is.it will be good if the carpark fees are complementary for hotel stays.
