Hotels With spa in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

The hotel's location is excellent, right outside Takayama Station, and the Nohi Bus terminal is also nearby. Dining options around are very convenient. We wanted to try Ajikura next door, but it was closed that day. After hiking in Kamikochi on a rainy day, soaking our feet and enjoying the hot springs was incredibly relaxing. I feel like if I ever come back to Takayama, I'd choose to stay here again.

Right outside the JR station, we saw staff holding signs, and even though the hotel is very close to the station, the pickup service was a nice bonus. The hotel environment is great, and the service is excellent. The hot spring water was incredibly smooth, making for a very comfortable soak. I tried all three different onsen baths, and it felt wonderful.

Stayed in a double room for one night in April 2025 [Good points] - Well-equipped bathing facilities - Massage chairs available for free [Points to note] - The hotel is visible from JR Gifu Station, but it is a little far away [Overall review] Dormy Inn hotels have a wide range of bathing facilities, so you can use them with peace of mind. I was tired from traveling, so I was grateful to be able to use the massage chair for free for 15 minutes after bathing.

Everything was wonderful! The room had its own private plunge pool, and there were two outdoor hot springs that you could reserve for your group to enjoy without anyone else around. Dinner and breakfast were served in a traditional Japanese style, which felt very authentic. What really sets this ryokan apart is that the main dish for dinner is Hida beef from the region. The service was top-notch; everyone was so welcoming and kind. After checking in, you change into traditional attire, and the hotel provides everything else, right down to facial cream. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Less than 5 mins walk to bus terminal and JR. Many food joints around the hotel. Staff is very helpful though his English language is hard to understand. Overall we have a pleasant stay here.

I love this hotel! 1) The view from the hotel is so beautiful. Even inside the Onsen. 2) The customer service is very nice. A very relaxing place. 3) Breakfast is delicious and there is a very nice garden where you can take photos. Highly recommended.

I stayed here on a solo trip to hike the Nakasendo trail. The hotel offers a shuttle bus from the station, which made getting around very convenient. I booked a meal-inclusive plan, and both breakfast and dinner were served in a private room. All I had to do was show up at the designated time. The food was delicious! 😋 The room was clean, and being nestled in the mountains, it was wonderfully quiet with fresh air. 👍 The hot spring was also perfect for soothing my tired legs after hiking. Plus, for a hot spring ryokan, the value for money is excellent! I'd love to stay here again. Highly recommend! ❗️

The third time staying in this hotel over the past 5 years. Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. Routinized Japanese Haute cuisine with no surprise, four small pieces of signature Hida wagyu could only be seen as a decoration. Yet the price was relatively high with over five hundred US dollars for a two-person one night stay (breakfast and dinner included). The service, the food, the environment, etc. require considerable improvement.

Good variety at breakfast and the view at breakfast room was beautiful. Free parking facility is next to the hotel, no shelter walkway but able to accommodate many cars. Room was clean and big and had all essentials. Unfortunately did not get to try the onsen but i'm sure it would have been nice.

A basic hotel with all the necessary amenities for daily use. Ideal for travelers taking the train to/from Ena Station before or after the Nakasendo Trail. The small town offers a pleasant stroll with a few hidden gems to discover. Good for a simple, convenient stay.
