We have wanted to stay at AxelBeach for a while. People told us it's just an expensive old hotel, but because of the name it stays busy. Well, unfortunately that is the case. The rooms look like they haven't been updated for 50 years. The TV is old and the wires behind it were frayed so badly it didn't have a signal. And the mattresses are so thin and uncomfortable I woke up yesterday with pain shooting down my lower back and legs. There's no excuse for cheap pillows and mattresses if you're going to charge this much. And we had a suite! It's like they're happy taking the *** $ but not meeting our expectations with that money. Other places to stay are much nicer. But on a positive note, the staff are absolutely incredible. They were always so friendly and helpful. I just wish that we had a better experience with the rooms.

Overall, a very good hotel: clean, friendly staff, and located in the city center in the pedestrian area. We didn't try the restaurant, but we did go to the rooftop: the view is absolutely beautiful, and the cocktails made by Virginia are delicious. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have private parking, but there's a very large free parking area just a 5-minute walk away.

The stay was excellent in terms of cleanliness, services, facilities, especially the treatment with the client since not only towards us, but also towards the other guests and it is worth mentioning the restaurant was very cordial, pleasant and respectful with everyone who served us there, especially Mr. Miguel. The location is very good since we loved the Garcia Sanabria Park that is in front of it, a true oasis in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife as described. When I return, it will be my next choice of accommodation and for those interested, it is a recommendation.

This is a really nice resort, with a nice lobby and amenities. It's also right by the ocean, and the dining room has a great view overlooking it as well. The breakfast was really top notch and delicious, with a lot of fresh fruits and food varieties. Sadly, the location is a bit inaccessible and not that close to either of the airports on the island.

Santa Catalina Hotel is undeniably a historic architectural landmark, but as a hotel experience it fell well below expectations. On arrival, the service felt cold and somewhat pretentious rather than welcoming, with concierge staff coming across as detached and pompous rather than genuinely hospitable. A key reason for choosing the hotel was the prominently advertised rooftop pool and views, only to discover after check-in that access is restricted to suite guests. The spa is similarly limited unless you pay €15 per person for 90 minutes, which feels disproportionate given the modest facilities. These restrictions are not clearly communicated at booking and leave a sense of being misled. Several of the lounge and communal areas were also frequently reserved for corporate events and seminars, which further diminished the sense of a relaxed hotel environment. As a guest, it often felt as though you were secondary to business groups and functions moving through the space, even in more personal hotel moments such as walking through common areas in a robe. In-room entertainment is very dated, with a non–smart TV offering only basic local and satellite channels. Room service carries a €5 delivery surcharge, while on-site dining is largely limited to high-end fine dining with little casual alternative. It is also worth noting that Las Palmas sits under a noticeably less favourable microclimate than the south and west of Gran Canaria. During our stay, conditions were consistently cloudy, windy, and cool, which further limited the enjoyment of the hotel’s already restricted amenities. For those seeking reliable sun and beach weather, the southern or western parts of the island are a better choice. Overall, despite its striking heritage setting, the combination of underwhelming service, restricted access to advertised facilities, dated in-room amenities, corporate use of guest spaces, and disappointing weather made for a stay that did not feel justified by the price and is not somewhere we would return to. The atmosphere and clientele also skew noticeably toward an older demographic.

The hotel is great. I spent a few days in Tenerife with my partner, and it was fantastic. The breakfast has a huge variety and something for everyone—it's great! The rooms are also cleaned daily, leaving them spotless without touching or moving your belongings. The pools are fantastic; they're on the hotel's rooftop, and it's fantastic. The service and attention were top-notch. Plus, if you don't rent a car, the bus station is right next door, which is fantastic. We really loved it, and we'll choose the same hotel again when we return.

The breakfast was really good and well organized. There are lots of activities you can do in the hotel (pool, sauna, spa, gym, table tennis, billiard and other games) and the golf area around looks great from above (I don't play golf though). The beach and other sights (e.g. Siam park) are close by and easy accessable by car or taxi The room was huge but needs some renovation (e.g. there was a broken flagstone in my bath room and a rupture on the couch)

Very nice hotel, highly recommended. The facilities are not particularly new but everything is there. You can see that the standard was very high back then. The room is large, with plenty of hot water, a large balcony and welcome fruit. The hotel has a separate yard with a swimming pool and a nice garden. The breakfast is rich and has a full range of dishes. The location is not special. It takes a while to walk to the beach. There is also a bus stop next to it. It is very convenient to take a bus from the city and sit directly until the evening. There are also buses that can go directly to the airport within walking distance.

GGuest UserLovely hotel at a very good location. Modern, nicely decorated for Christmas. Polite staff, good choice for breakfast and dinner. Christmas dinner was something out of this world( been to many hotels, but Xmas dinner now will be hard to match). Not sure if it is always like this but we were the youngest in the hotel(43&47)during the first part of holidays and only later some other younger people joined us. The average age was 60's 😁 This hotel is not orientated to children but for us it was perfect- no screaming and shouting and our girl had fun in the pool by Herself and her cousin🤣 I wanted to book Spring Hotel Bitacora at first but now I am thinking that I made an excellent choice . That said, I might try it out next time just because of the All nclusive service Bitacora provides. It was a nice quiet stay so if you expect something like Turkey, eith music around the pool, kids disco and shows, this hotel is not for you. We were half board and 4 days we ate at the pool bar and were never disappointed. Good food and reasonable prices. We didn't book UP option because we were with the kids( it's for 18+)but if I ever come without them- I will try it out! Pros: Very good location Modern hotel Heated pools( wheelchair friendly) Good food and service Cons: No shampoo in a room! It's a first for me 🙈 The tiles in the pool (mosaic) need replacement. My daughter filled probably half of the carrier bag from the bottom saw of the pool🤣 All in all- perfect stay and believe me, I am picky. It is one of the hotels I would recommend to my friends and family

GGuest UserMagnicico albergo in posizione panoramica.

DDouglas JamesWe arrived just as the hotel was subject to a power cut. The young guy receptionist took us to the room as our door keys would not work due to the electricity outage. The electricity came back on in reception about 5 minutes later but someone had to go room to room to reset each rooms supply. Some 2 hours later after having sat in the dark unable to unpack and several tracks to reception and being told we were priority we gave up and went out to dinner in the clothes we travelled in after a 4 hour 30 minutes flight. Other hotels were affected in the same street apparently. Once this issue was sorted by the time we got back from dinner everything was great. Lovely breakfast, lovely room with Molton Brown shower gel, shampoo and hand soap and lotion. Lovely pool and no issue getting sun beds. Short walk to the beach and dunes but a lot of steps up and down. Also 10 minute walk to Yumbo shopping centre which had everything you needed from great shops to excellent restaurants and bars. Great place for LGBTQ to meet up and great place to people watch. Definitely recommend

GGingermasionThe biggest pros are its beautiful surroundings and spacious rooms, though they can be a bit dim, and the water pressure is quite low. The pool is very comfortable, and the staff by the pool were the friendliest. We opted for the half-board package, which included a buffet breakfast. For dinner, you could choose from any of the hotel's five or six restaurants, with a credit of 72 Euros per person for ordering à la carte (drinks not included; you pay for anything over the limit). The breakfast wasn't particularly varied, but the beachfront restaurant's dinner was surprisingly good, with stunning sunset views. If you plan to dine there, you absolutely, absolutely, absolutely must book in advance. There's basically nothing around the hotel, though there's a small town with dining options less than a 10-minute taxi ride away (we didn't visit). A taxi to Playa de las Américas costs around 30 Euros. This hotel is best for just relaxing and vacationing on-site. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to its own beach. Overall, the hotel stands out for its distinctive exterior and decent restaurant food. However, for an island resort at this price point, everything else was pretty average.

CChristinewanWe stayed at GF Isabel in an apartment and overall had a really nice stay. The location is great – easy to walk to shops, restaurants and the beach, which made everything very convenient. The hotel has a lovely family-friendly atmosphere, and there were activities and entertainment for kids, which my daughter really enjoyed. The evening shows were actually really good – much better than we expected – and it was nice to have something to do after dinner without needing to go out. The apartment itself was a good size and practical for a family, although the decor is a little dated in places. That said, everything was clean and worked well. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. After we checked out, we realised we had left a water bottle behind. When we went back to ask, one of the ladies at the hotel was really kind and helped us find it and return it to us, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great choice for families and we would happily stay here again.

NNancylovesyannYesterday, I just arrived at the time and I couldn’t decide whether to book this for three days. I originally decided to bring the baby before leaving or to come by myself. Because it takes four hours to fly in Geneva, I am afraid that he will not be able to make it on the plane. [Laughing R] [laughing R]j hotel half bag, Just say that you have to pay for breakfast and have a late lunch. [Like R] Thank you for upgrading my room and allowing me to have a small swimming pool with my own slap. This hotel has two large pools and a children's pool, the hotel is not very green and looks very clean. Three restaurants, buffet, Spanish restaurant and a Fusion restaurant. The buffet is not booked, the other two have to be booked in advance but it is also free. The back door of the hotel can be directly connected to the sea by brushing the room card, or you can go to the seaside. They are restaurants, bars and shops. You can imagine how lively it will be during the peak season. And this street is so long that you can walk 40 ➕ minutes while walking, eating and drinking all the way. The roadside is a five-star hotel. You can see the swimming pool and restaurant of other hotels. You are ready to change to a hotel next time. [Laughing R] c The food is not bad, it is still very cost-effective compared to Switzerland, and the taste is good, I am satisfied [Laughing R] The front desk will give a map when checking-in, It’s quite convenient to want to go to traffic. [Come on R]z Overall, it’s not bad. It’s recommended [okR]
