Iain13This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again.
The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy.
The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning.
The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience.
Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere.
I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance.
This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

angelren2My stay at Conrad Xiamen was excellent! First off, the location is fantastic, right in the Twin Towers. It's an easy walk to Shapowei, Xiamen University, the Yanwu Bridge Observation Deck, and even the Baicheng Beach and Botanical Garden aren't too far. Secondly, the service was top-notch. A butler reached out even before I checked in, and throughout my stay, everyone from the front desk to the concierge and breakfast staff provided impeccable service. The mini-bar drinks were complimentary and restocked daily, and they also provided fresh fruit and sweet soup every day, which was a thoughtful touch. Housekeeping was also very good. The breakfast was superb, with many Xiamen specialties like Satay Noodles, Shaobing, Popiah, Mianxian paste, and Peanut Soup – all delicious! The only minor downside is that there's subway construction outside, which caused a bit of traffic, but once it's open, it should be even better. Oh, and the package included tickets to the Cloud Xiamen Observation Deck. It's quite nice if you go in the evening, and for thrill-seekers, you can even try some of the exciting activities there – apparently, it's where the 'Greater Bay Area' brothers used to hang out!

Anonymous UserI have lived in Xiamen on a business trip before. This time I found that it was a surprise to be newly renovated. The color style of the room is very comfortable, the pillows are very comfortable, the arranged room is also very quiet, a rare deep sleep, the location is in the core area of Zhongshan Road, downstairs is a variety of food I feel that I can’t finish living for 10 days. So happy hahaha, treasure hotel

Guest UserThe location is great, right across from Gulangyu Island, and the sea-view room offers a beautiful perspective. It's very close to the bus stop and the subway station (Line 1 Zhenhai Road). The staff are enthusiastic and patient; even though it's always busy, their attitude remains excellent, and they even helped with our luggage 🧳! Room service requests were handled quickly. My child absolutely loved it; we were just too rushed, otherwise, we definitely would have stayed a few more days. A special shout-out to Caroline at the front desk (I might be misremembering the spelling), the housekeeping auntie on the 11th floor, and Xiao Ye from concierge!

Guest UserI arrived in a torrential downpour, dusty and weary from the journey, but seeing a cute big black dog sleeping in the hotel immediately made me feel warm and fuzzy. The room was fully equipped, clean, and tidy overall. As dusk fell, the indoor lighting created a lovely ambiance. Opening the door, the small courtyard with bamboo shadows swaying and cicadas chirping after the rain was quite enchanting. I imagine it would be a wonderful spot to just relax and unwind when the weather is cool and dry. Oh, and the two young men working there were also very kind and friendly. They helped me with my luggage, gave me a paper map (I appreciate such artistic touches), and even brought breakfast to my room, telling me to ask for more if it wasn't enough.
My personal stay was quite pleasant. If I had to mention any tips, I'd say bring mosquito repellent, as there are many mosquitoes on the island. Also, the breakfast is simple and home-style, not like a fancy hotel buffet, so that's something to consider based on personal preference. I would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm on the island. Thanks for the hospitality! (◍•͈⌔•͈◍)

Guest UserEven though the decor is a bit dated, the room still felt very new and clean. Since I had a late flight, I asked the front desk if I could have a late check-out, and they were very accommodating, which I really appreciated. The room was also very quiet; I couldn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms closing their doors. The front desk even upgraded me to a suite! Overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely choose to stay at Intercontinental again for future trips.

ShengkatalinnacengbuThis hotel is located in Haicang District. While not on Xiamen Island itself, transportation is quite convenient. We chose it mainly because of its proximity to Songyu Wharf, which makes getting to Gulangyu Island very easy.
The room was very satisfying, spacious, and the upgraded sea-view room offered a direct view of Haicang Bay, Xiamen's iconic buildings, and Gulangyu Island – all panoramic.
Breakfast offered a rich variety of options, including the local specialty, Shacha noodles.
Overall, it's a very satisfying hotel.

Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too.
Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room.
For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills.
Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it.
It's a really adorable doll 🥰
