AAnonymous UserAfter carefully weighing the options between the Horizon Club Room and the 2-Bedroom Residence, we chose the Residence and could not have been happier with our decision. The enormous extra space, privacy, and comfort made it the perfect choice for our stay. For families or groups traveling together, I highly recommend considering the Residences. A special mention goes to Mr. KAKI, the Residences Manager. From check-in to check-out, he was warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely courteous. His constant presence and willingness to assist elevated our experience from a 5-star stay to what truly felt like a 6-star experience. Having spent the previous two weeks traveling throughout Northeast China and staying at several other 5-star hotels, we can confidently say that Shangri-La Dalian stands out as one of the finest hotels we encountered in every respect. Some highlights of our stay: • The breakfast was generous, varied, and absolutely delicious. • Housekeeping was exceptionally efficient and responsive. • The air conditioning worked perfectly, providing consistently cool and comfortable temperatures. • The automated toilets with spray bidet functions were a thoughtful touch and added greatly to the overall comfort of the room. Shangri-La Dalian delivers excellence not only through its facilities but also through its people. Our stay exceeded expectations, and we would not hesitate to return on our next visit to Dalian.

The hotel boasts a new Chinese design style, with elegant and refined layouts that exude a rich classical charm. The public areas are thoughtfully decorated, featuring pavilions and staggered scenic views that create a strong atmospheric ambiance. The aesthetic design is consistent throughout the entire space, giving it a unified and unique character. The lobby has a scenic fish pond with koi swimming freely, adding a lively and elegant touch. Feeding the fish is interactive and adds a lot of vitality to the environment, making a stroll through the area very pleasant. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable, with a well-designed layout and simple yet stylish interiors. The amenities are complete, the bedding is comfortable, and the rooms are quiet, ensuring a very relaxing stay. The hotel offers free traditional Chinese costumes for guests to try on and take photos, which is a lot of fun. The location is a major highlight, as it's excellent and close to Xinghai Square, making travel very convenient. Nearby attractions and dining spots are concentrated, saving time and effort for sightseeing and business trips. The hotel breakfast is simple but delicious, featuring a refreshing Chinese set meal. The minced pork noodles, seaweed soup, and side dishes are just right, and there are also sweet steamed cakes, egg custard, and cherry tomatoes. Overall, this hotel combines beauty, comfort, and practicality. The design, environment, service, and location are all commendable, offering a fantastic experience and great value for money. It's an excellent choice for accommodation when visiting Dalian and highly recommended.

The room itself features a sleek, sophisticated design, and the voice-controlled lighting and curtains are incredibly convenient. The bedding is high-thread-count cotton, and they even offer a choice of soft or firm pillows. The bathroom amenities are essential oil-based with a wonderfully healing citrus scent. In the common areas, there's complimentary freshly ground coffee and fruit tea – perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up after a day out. Every detail here shows thoughtfulness. I posted pictures, and everyone was asking for the link! Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates quality.

OOlga_CheUnfortunately, this hotel turned out to be the worst of my entire two-week trip around China. The staff was friendly, but they didn't speak any English. Overall, the hotel didn't seem particularly foreign-friendly. Simple requests like a fruit bowl or an adapter to charge phone baffled them. When I checked in, I found a clump of long black hair on the bathroom floor. I had to ask them to wash the floors again. The hotel didn't offer any apologies or compliments for this situation. Breakfasts were the most disappointing part. This hotel was the only place in China where I had a bad meal😭 The noodles and even the stewed cabbage were swimming in oil, everything was overly vinegary and garlicky, and there were no fruits, vegetables, or desserts. I ate there only twice in five days, and both times I suffered from severe heartburn. The positive moments are an ideal location and comfortable beds and pillows. I slept well there, even though the room's windows overlooked the highway and not the park as stated when booking.

GGuest UserPros: The hotel is very close to the beach, not a private one, but it's a convenient 10-minute walk. It's also near Discoveryland, making it easy to visit. The hotel exterior is beautiful, and the gardens are lovely. Cons: We booked this hotel for RMB 1440 per night during the May Day holiday, but the service level definitely didn't match that price point. The room decor and facilities were pretty basic, essentially just a step up from a budget hotel with the addition of a bathtub. They claimed to have children's toiletries, but we never saw any. There's no laundry room, and while the room had a small fridge, it was empty, with no complimentary drinks. The hotel's own restaurant was very mediocre. The breakfast buffet was basically on par with a slightly better budget hotel. The other à la carte restaurant was overpriced with very ordinary dishes, not to mention a 15% service charge. I honestly couldn't figure out what service that fee was for; we even had to search for a water pitcher ourselves or actively call a waiter just to get water. The hotel staff were quite disappointing. It felt like they hired a bunch of temporary workers for the May Day rush, as they seemed clueless about everything we asked. There was no detailed information in the room about the children's play area, gym operating hours, or fees; we had to inquire about everything individually. In summary, apart from the hotel's exterior and scenery, everything else was rather subpar. It felt like a glorified budget hotel, so don't set your expectations too high.

Bblue_sky_1949The hotel's location is excellent. To the right, you'll find Sun Asia Ocean World, and about a kilometer further is Heishijiao, perfect for beachcombing. To the left are Xinghai Bay and Xinghai Square, both with very clear water. We stayed in a sea-view room, and opening the window the next morning revealed a breathtaking ocean view. You can take an early morning stroll or run along the beach. The elevator system is unique; you have to select your floor outside before entering, which kids found entertaining, but adults might lose patience with. One minor flaw is that the shower only has an overhead fixture and no handheld sprayer, which wasn't ideal for children.

The location is absolutely fantastic, very close to the railway station, within walking distance, and super convenient for getting to Zhongshan Square and other parts of the city. It makes exploring and shopping effortless. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the facilities were complete. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of options, both Chinese and Western, and tasted great – I was very satisfied. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and check-in was quick. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Dalian, and I'll definitely choose it again next time!

Hhrk0410I visited with my children for a hot spring trip. It was very cold outside, but as soon as we entered the hotel lobby, it felt incredibly warm. Ms. LIA was truly wonderful. She arranged a comfortable, child-friendly room for us and promptly delivered all the necessities we requested. Since it was our first time here and we weren't familiar with the area, she also recommended some fantastic restaurants near Gastein, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The hot springs were so relaxing and warming, and the breakfast was excellent too. This is definitely a place I'd love to visit again. Thank you so much!
