"The hotel and rooms feel newer compared to others in the same price range. Rooms in Hong Kong are generally expensive and small, which was the case here. It had a 'large' bed that was actually two singles pushed together, and I had to climb onto the bed to draw the curtains, as you can see from the pictures. The aisle was very narrow, making the small space feel even more cramped and a bit depressing for one person. It's probably fine for business travelers. It's not far from Kai Tak, so many young people staying for concerts and events choose this hotel, and there were also student groups during my stay, so business seems good. They offer free bread and coffee in the morning. Aside from the small size, there aren't really any other downsides."

Royal View Hotel

8.5/10

This was my second trip from Guangdong, and I chose this hotel specifically because it has metered parking right outside. However, the parking is free from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday, and from 10 AM to 10 PM on Sundays and public holidays. If there are no spots available there, you can opt for the hotel's own parking for HKD250 per day. Image two shows the view from the hotel's sea-view room. The shipping lane can get quite busy at times, and it's fascinating to watch cargo ships constantly moving in and out. Image three displays the hotel's breakfast, which offers a selection of fixed set menus. The hotel is also currently running a breakfast promotion for guests, which makes it pretty good value for money. The nearby beach and Ting Kau Village are also perfect for a very chill stroll.

Regal Airport Hotel

The hotel's location is perfect, just a 3-minute walk from the T1 check-in counter, which was ideal for our early morning flight. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and very well-equipped. The room was spacious, much larger than typical airport hotel rooms. However, the facilities are a bit dated; the mini-fridge in our room was broken. The bathroom was just okay, with an older toilet and average waterproofing/non-slip features, so extra caution is needed if you're traveling with children or pregnant individuals. Despite these points, the overall value for money is quite good. Service, however, needs improvement. I particularly want to highlight the receptionist at the ground floor breakfast area. We had an international flight at 9 AM and went down for breakfast promptly at 6:30 AM. My child had just woken up and had no appetite at all, but we were very pressed for time and couldn't wait for them to feel better. So, we asked the receptionist if we could pack a small amount of food for our child to take to the airport – literally just a piece of bread and an egg. The receptionist's attitude was incredibly unfriendly, and she very sternly refused my request, acting extremely condescending. I believe that even if there's a hotel policy against taking food out, as a representative of the hotel, you can refuse, but please maintain basic politeness and professionalism. It's one thing not to be sympathetic, but a cold attitude really damages the hotel's overall image and our impression of Hong Kong.

Kerry Hotel Hong Kong by Shangri-la

9.4/10
Outstanding

After comparing several options, I booked a sea-view room at the Kerry Hotel, and the experience was simply impeccable. For a city like Hong Kong, where space is a premium, the room size was exceptionally generous, and the cleanliness was meticulously maintained. The panoramic window offered stunning front-row sea views, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The thoughtful details were a major plus: the room came with a Philips instant hot water dispenser, saving the hassle of boiling water, which is incredibly practical for travelers. The bathroom area was spacious, and the wet/dry separation was perfectly executed, making it feel clean and refreshing to use. It's perfectly suited for both leisure holidays and short trips. The stay was a perfect 10, and I'll definitely be recommending it to friends and family.

Everyone, avoid this hotel! This is my first time leaving a negative review for a hotel. 1. The service attitude was absolutely terrible. From the moment I checked in, I said ”Hello...” but the staff didn't even bother to respond with a ”Hello” back and had a sour face the entire time. In the service industry, there should be a basic level of politeness! 2. Check-out is at 11 AM, and check-in is at 3 PM. This is an absolutely outrageous, one-sided policy. I didn't notice these times when I booked. Isn't anyone going to address this? 3. The hotel's so-called ”free shuttle” requires booking a day in advance. There was no mention of this when I checked in. You have to ask about everything yourself! It's completely hit-or-miss. 4. The young staff at the concierge desk were also unhelpful and made things difficult for guests. The next day, they wouldn't let me bring my luggage on the bus, claiming it was too big. It was just a small carry-on suitcase, how big could it be?! I said, ”Yesterday, I confirmed with the concierge staff that I could bring it on the bus.” Then the tall, slender concierge kept questioning, ”Which staff member? What's their name? Who told you that?” Am I supposed to remember the name of every staff member just to take the bus? 5. We booked a standard room, and the bedside table in the middle was as shown in the picture – make of it what you will. The soundproofing was also poor. All in all, everyone should seriously reconsider staying at this hotel! Afterwards, I searched for negative reviews about this hotel to see if anyone else had the same terrible experience. It turns out the news about this hotel is truly shocking.

Empire Hotel Hong Kong - Causeway Bay

Our stay at The Emperor Hotel Causeway Bay in Hong Kong was absolutely fantastic! As soon as my daughter walked in, she said she loved it. I immediately started taking photos and posted on social media about how wonderful and elegant this hotel is. We were on the 29th floor, and the large window offered stunning views of Victoria Harbour. The ceilings are high, and they provided toothbrushes, soap, coffee, and tea. On the second day, we even received a complimentary bottle of mineral water. The front desk also offers free tea, coffee, and newspapers. This hotel completely shattered my preconceptions about Hong Kong accommodation being expensive and small. The Tin Hau MTR station is super convenient for getting around. On our last day, when we stored our luggage, they even gave us two Ferrero Rocher chocolates as we left – so polite and incredibly thoughtful! My daughter and I both agreed that we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Hong Kong! Several parents who saw my Hong Kong trip photos have asked me where we stayed, and I've been recommending The Emperor Hotel Causeway Bay without hesitation! You can really see how much we loved this hotel from my photos!

Harbour Plaza Metropolis

8.7/10

Given Hong Kong's sky-high property prices and the crucial role of transportation in the overall travel experience, this hotel's location is its biggest asset, and the main reason I keep coming back. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Hung Hom, Kowloon, with direct access to the MTR Hung Hom Station. From Exit C3 of Hung Hom Station, you can reach the hotel lobby in just 30 meters via a footbridge directly connected to the Metropolis Mall. This means no outdoor walking is required, making it perfect for rainy or scorching hot days, and super easy to navigate with luggage. Right opposite is the Hong Kong Coliseum (the 'Red House'), making it an absolute top choice for concert-goers. You can walk back to the hotel in just two minutes after a show. Hong Kong hotels are generally known for their small rooms, but the硬件 conditions at Harbour Plaza Metropolis are a cut above for its price range (under 1000 HKD). It feels modern and incredibly clean, balancing comfort with practicality. This time, I stayed in a Superior Room, which was spacious enough to comfortably lay out a 28-inch suitcase without feeling cramped. The room layout is well-proportioned, with excellent natural light. High-floor rooms offer stunning panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the city lights, making for an exceptional viewing experience. For mainland tourists, you'll need to bring an adapter. The water pressure is stable, and hot water supply is plentiful, ensuring a comfortable showering experience. The TV is adjustable, and the bedding is clean and soft, with a mattress that's just right – not too firm, not too soft. There's also a mini-fridge and a safe. The hotel has a well-equipped gym that meets the basic fitness needs of short-term travelers. There's also an outdoor swimming pool with a view. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, with stable and smooth connectivity. The hotel doesn't automatically provide disposable toothbrushes or soap, but you can request them from the front desk. I'd recommend bringing your own for convenience. Check-in and check-out processes are efficient and straightforward, with no long queues. You can communicate your needs in advance through the platform, and the staff are patient and responsive. A special shout-out to Candy from the hotel! She is patient, enthusiastic, and attentive. Every time I check in, she understands my needs and quickly fulfills my requests, ensuring I get the room I desire. I truly hope to encounter her every time I stay! Express check-out is available, no room inspection needed. Basic service details: Room cleaning is thorough and meticulous, with daily tidying, linen changes, and replenishment of drinking water and consumables, keeping the room consistently clean and tidy. The front desk staff are multilingual, patient, and detail-oriented. They proactively offer local travel tips, shuttle bus schedules, and shopping district itineraries, helping first-time visitors to Hong Kong settle in quickly. Luggage storage is available 24/7. Soft amenities: The hotel is directly connected to the Metropolis Mall, with convenience stores, local diners, and supermarkets downstairs. This means easy access to dining and shopping, making everyday life incredibly convenient. The standard room rates during off-peak season typically range from 600-1000 HKD per night, but prices may fluctuate during holidays, concerts, or exhibitions.

Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel

8.8/10

The hotel's setting is quite good; it's probably hard to find a resort-style hotel in Hong Kong at such an affordable price. The surroundings are beautiful and well-maintained, and the kids had a great time swimming and playing on the beach. However, the rooms are a bit old and not very spacious, and the facilities are somewhat outdated. The hotel staff were all friendly, polite, and helpful. If you're looking for a family beach holiday in Hong Kong, this hotel is quite suitable. The nearby Gold Coast Piazza makes dining convenient, and there's also a supermarket and several convenience stores.

The room was spacious with two queen beds (1.5 meters each), perfect for a family of four. We didn't book a room with breakfast, but the Xinghaiwan Cafe serves three meals a day, which was very convenient. There's no bottled water, but a self-service water dispenser is available daily, providing more than enough. Overall, excellent value for money. The shuttle service between the three hotels was a great bonus, allowing us to explore them all. Highly recommend!

Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong

8.9/10

This is my umpteenth stay at Discovery Bay Hotel. I used to always book a sea-view room, but this time I opted for a mountain-view room, and it was surprisingly good for several reasons: 1) It's cheaper. 2) During the rainy season, mountain-view rooms are much drier. 3) The bathtub in the mountain-view room is a standard ceramic one, and while it doesn't offer the unbeatable sea views of the sea-view rooms, it's more comfortable for a soak. This hotel has very clear pros and cons. The main drawback is its inconvenient transportation. If you don't want to spend money on transport, you'll need to carefully study the free shuttle bus schedules and routes. We took the public bus, and it was quite inconvenient since buses on the island only accept Octopus cards or cash, with no electronic payment options. However, the advantages are significant: it's incredibly quiet, both the mountain and sea views are beautiful, and the big white sand beach on the other side of the island is less crowded on weekdays. The hotel's aesthetic is consistently pleasing, and the rooms are spacious. Even though it's an older hotel, it's very well-maintained.

My stay at the Regal Riverside Hotel in Hong Kong far exceeded my expectations – a definite five-star review! The room came equipped with a high-end Swiss professional hairdryer from Valera. The build quality felt solid and premium, even more so than a Dyson, with a stable, constant airflow that was great for hair care. As someone with long hair, I really appreciated how quickly it dried. This excellent user experience really highlights the hotel's commitment to high-end amenities. The room also featured several art pieces on the walls, which were aesthetically pleasing and a joy to look at during downtime, creating a wonderful ambiance. The bathroom had a consistent and abundant supply of hot water, with a smooth, constant temperature, making for a comfortable and relaxing shower experience. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the facilities overall were thoughtfully designed. The hotel's amenities are comprehensive, and getting around was convenient. From the stylish soft furnishings to the essential hardware, everything exuded quality. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay. This will be my top choice for accommodation when visiting Hong Kong, and I'll definitely choose it again for future trips!
