Romantic Hotels in Hong Kong, China

Excellent! Excellent! It's truly rare to find such a spacious place in Hong Kong, where every inch is precious! The price was also reasonable! The front desk upgraded us to a sea view room for free, yay! Waking up to a sea view in the morning was incredibly refreshing! I also went for a run in the neighborhood in the morning and saw so many other runners – it was great! The gym was decent, although it opened a bit late at 8 AM. The breakfast downstairs was cheap and delicious 😋 I recommend the 'fun guo' (dumplings), char siu bao (BBQ pork buns), and tea eggs!

The hotel is connected to the airport, so it's quite busy and there's often a queue for check-in. The rooms are very spacious and even come with recliners. There's a free shuttle bus service to Tung Chung MTR station. You can also catch a public bus right outside the hotel, or take a direct bus service.

First off, it's well-known that Hong Kong hotels have a 3 PM check-in time. I arrived around 1 PM, and to my surprise, the front desk lady saw an available room and let me check in immediately. The service was very thoughtful and patient, as she introduced the hotel's dining options and facilities. The room was very clean and well-maintained, not at all like a hotel that's been open for many years. The breakfast buffet on the third floor was excellent, with a great variety of food suitable for all kinds of people. This stay was a very good experience, highly recommended.

1. **Super convenient transportation.** Just a 5-minute walk from Tin Hau MTR station Exit A. It's also great for a stroll to Causeway Bay (only 20 minutes at most), letting you soak in the authentic Hong Kong vibe along the way. 2. **Plenty of food options nearby, and many convenient stores.** Around the corner, you can find a cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style cafe), a must-try when visiting Hong Kong, as well as old-fashioned bakeries. 3. **The staff are incredibly nice and friendly, with prompt and efficient service.** This is precisely why, after all these years, I still choose to stay at The Empire Hotel Causeway Bay. From the moment I walked in, through check-in, and until departure, every interaction was friendly. The staff's age range is quite broad, but everyone I encountered was so nice. An excellent, impressive hotel – it immediately gives off the vibe of a large, full-fledged hotel, and the name Plaza really suits it. Inside, it smells very pleasant; even approaching the hotel, you can detect a nice, subtle, sweet jasmine scent. The hotel is easy to find: there are signs from the metro, and once you exit onto the street, its building is immediately visible – it's large and stands out. Check-in was very quick: several staff members were working at the large reception desk. We were given a room with two twin beds and a private terrace-balcony (a nice bonus). Each of us received a separate key card – for me, this is a prime indicator of guest care. The cost of our stay turned out to be quite low considering the number of nights we booked. Check-out was also very quick, but the 11:00 AM check-out time is not very convenient. The hotel is very quiet. The corridors are long, but you rarely encounter anyone there. The room was also very quiet. Housekeeping is done daily, and the Wi-Fi works well. There's a pool, but from what I understood, it closes quite early (I don't remember exactly, around 7-8 PM), so I didn't get a chance to use it. The room made a very good impression. It's large, clean, and comfortable. Two comfortable beds, nice bedding, a small table, a full set of towels, slippers, a safe, a refrigerator, tea, coffee, and sugar. The room also has a hairdryer, TV, air conditioning, thick blackout curtains, and tissues. I especially liked the toiletries in the bathroom: the shower gel has a very pleasant scent, and there's also shampoo and hand cream. The plumbing is in good condition – and yes, that's important, because issues with plumbing are quite common in hotels. As for the downsides – there are no power outlets near the bed. USB ports were available on the desk, but they charge quite slowly, so it's best to bring an adapter. Perhaps adapters can be obtained at reception, but I didn't ask. Like many hotels in Hong Kong, the room does not provide disposable amenities or bottled water – the hotel adheres to an eco-friendly approach. The location is generally convenient. The hotel is not far from the waterfront, although it's not immediately obvious how to get there the first time. You need to head towards the stadium (Coliseum), and then through pedestrian overpasses: to the left – to the waterfront, and straight through the first overpass above the bus stop – towards the city. The metro is next to the hotel, and it's just one stop from West Kowloon Station – very quick. There's also a bus stop nearby with routes towards Wan Chai and Central via the underwater tunnel. The hotel itself is actually connected to a small, modest shopping center. There's a good grocery store there and several cafes/restaurants. McDonald's is located within the metro station building. Someone mentioned money exchange shops in the mall in a review – I couldn't find any. If you need to exchange money, you can find an ATM in the underpass behind the metro station building, opposite the passage to the university, but the exchange rate there isn't the best. It's better to use the exchange shops south of Tsim Sha Tsui station, on Nathan Road – there's a whole floor dedicated to them. It's about a 12-15 minute walk from the hotel or one metro stop. Overall, I felt really comfortable here. A spacious and clean room, quietness, everything I needed at hand, and a convenient location. My impressions of the hotel were very positive.

We took our kids to Hong Kong Disneyland and stayed at a hotel for two nights. This was our first time staying at the Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun, and it was a great experience. ✨ **Transportation:** From Shenzhen Bay Port, we took bus B3X to Tuen Mun Town Centre, then a taxi for a few tens of dollars to the hotel. For the return trip, a taxi directly to Shenzhen Bay Port cost around 150. Getting to Disneyland by taxi was about 200-300. Alternatively, you can take a minibus to Tsing Yi and then transfer to the MTR. ✨ **Environment and Facilities:** The beach offers amazing sunset views. The Shark-themed children's playground was safe and clean, and the kids had a blast, allowing us parents to relax. We didn't get to experience the pool due to time constraints, but it looked good too. ✨ **Room:** Our balcony sea view room offered beautiful sunset views, and the balcony was spacious enough. The room itself was also quite large. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's well-maintained and offers excellent value for money. ✨ **Surrounding Amenities:** Gold Coast Piazza is about a 5-minute walk away. It has a very chill vibe with various restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores, meeting all basic needs. The Vietnamese restaurant, Bistro Hoi An, was delicious; we ate there two days in a row. ✨ **Service:** We are very grateful for the hotel's well-trained staff; everyone was very friendly! The front desk agent who checked us in (forgot his name) was very nice. Dan from the concierge patiently helped us with directions to Disneyland, and the housekeeping staff were always smiling. It's been a long time since I felt such a strong sense of being at home. Overall, choosing the Gold Coast Hotel for our vacation was an excellent experience and definitely worth recommending!

After comparing three hotels for our Disney trip, my family and I chose the Explorer's Lodge. The hotel's decor is very unique, and the gardens are beautiful, which my kids absolutely loved. They felt like they could spend ages just playing at the hotel. The lobby staff provided excellent service. Breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious. The room amenities are quite comprehensive for Hong Kong standards, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, making for a very good night's sleep after a day at Disney.

The shuttle bus was super convenient! We went straight from Disneyland to the hotel, and the next day, we took it to Tung Chung for a cross-border bus back to Guangzhou. You can tell the hotel has some age, but it's well-maintained, and they even upgraded us to a room with both mountain and sea views. After a tiring day at Disneyland, we had a really good night's sleep here and even managed to walk around the island the next day. Very refreshing! There aren't many dining options nearby, especially if you arrive late as many places are closed. What's open is mostly Western food, some with alcohol. There are supermarkets and convenience stores, so it's not bustling but not inconvenient either. It was too hot outside, so the kids had a blast in the simple play area on the second floor. It's incredibly quiet here – perfect if you want to escape the hustle and bustle.

The room was a bit old-fashioned, and there were only two power outlets. Luckily, I brought a couple of multi-port adapters, otherwise charging my phone and camera would have been a hassle. No bottled water was provided in the room, only tap water. While it's eco-friendly, it's not very convenient and detracted from the experience. The hotel's surroundings are excellent. There are many bars and restaurants downstairs, and a Wellcome Supermarket and 7-Eleven nearby. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient to get to Central and the West Kowloon Cultural Corridor. Just a heads-up, the MTR station is quite a distance, so it might not be convenient if you have a lot of luggage. I'd like to praise the front desk service. On my first night, I was on the 4th floor, and the 3rd floor was the swimming pool. The room was incredibly damp. When I woke up in the morning, I had two bites, probably from some insect. After I reported it to the front desk, they immediately moved me to a room on the 16th floor for the remaining two days! Oh, and the hotel breakfast was decent. It wasn't very diverse, but it was definitely not bad and filling.

The hotel is conveniently located near Tsuen Wan West Station, and you don't even need to brave the sun or rain to get there, which is a huge plus. The front desk staff were polite and even upgraded me to a higher floor. The housekeeping staff were also very courteous. However, the 41st floor was undergoing internal renovations, making it quite noisy. The soundproofing in the room was just average, possibly due to its proximity to the elevator.
