I didn't know what to expect when I booked this establishment. It looked OK though I thought I might find it a bit further from the main Paihia town than I liked, but it turned out that I really enjoyed the walk to and from the town. We've booked ourselves in the cruise to Hole in the Rock the next day and talking to the helpful staff, we booked the spa followed by dinner at The Glass House on that day and we really enjoyed our day. The massage and facial was really relaxing, and the dinner was superb. On top of that, I love the room we had which was just by the pool. We are able to enjoy the hot tub which was really relaxing too. Everything was just fantastic. Overall the hotel was just a joy to stay in and I was glad I booked 3 nights.
I had a lovely lady at the front desk when I checked in. Professional & polite even with my late evening check-in. Room was great - clean tidy & well presented! I enjoy my status at The Sands, thank you!
Facilities: Newly decorated. We were assigned a four-bed room, with a large bed in the living room and three small beds in the bedroom.
Hygiene: No problem with hygiene.
Environment: It's a motel environment, and the location is relatively convenient.
Service: Good service, and the front desk responds promptly.
We spent 2 nights recently and found everything to be excellent. The room and location was beyond our expectations.
We had room service and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was excellent. A truly enjoyable experience.

There are no hustle around, anyway, if you go out to do anything, you have to drive, the overall feeling is not bad, just do not like the decoration style. Recommended live
The Holiday Park is very well located on the access road to Russel. However, you still have to drive 5 minutes to the town. Russel itself is a great little town that also offers beautiful beaches.
The Holiday Park has a pool and several outdoor seating areas which are nice. Some of the cabins also have outdoor seating with a table and a lounge area.
The cabins became unbearably hot throughout the day. It was only in the evening that the air in there was bearable. Ventilation was difficult because there was no draft. The fan didn't help much either.
The other facilities such as the kitchen, indoor common area and bathroom are a bit old and need a little more attention. You shouldn't expect too much there. But the basic equipment is there.
Since the accommodation relies on tank water supply, we had an incident where we had no water for 2-3 hours until we informed the owners.
The internet is limited to 500MB per device per day, which bothered us a bit. The park wants to make additional money here and sells data passes.
A suberb location close to everything and perfect views out over the bay .
The size of the suite was spacious and also offered cooking facilities.
A few broken things so I think maintenance could be improved, and we didn’t get offered under cover parking which I assumed was for the junior suites.
The swimming pool was nice .
The most amazing place to be at. Thank you all loved the swim, rooms, bed amazing, breakfast amazing and receptionist amazing. Thank you Pahia for an amazing weather to.
We traveled up from Waipukurau for Paige Harley and Quin Belgrove wedding. Beautiful food.

GGuest UserStaff were super friendly. It was a good price for good accommodation, within walking distance from the beach, restaurants etc. Small things could have earned a full 5 star rating such as extra pillows as ours were a bit flat, having more toilet paper as 3 rolls single ply for 4 people on a 5 day trip didn’t cut it, but overall a good experience. The laundry was a bit dated so we ended up using the laundromat down the road, and we had no idea where the gym or restaurant was which would have been nice to have been informed of when we checked in.
AAnonymous UserA good place to break one's journey from Paihia via opinoni and waipoura forests back to Auckland. Dargaville is a small town with several Asian restaurants (recommend Suphan Thai in town) and a Woolworth's. This motel is located in the suburbs - a quiet and peaceful area away from traffic. Was surprised that the unit came with a kitchen (stove, fridge microwave oven) even though the room description only mentioned a LCD TV. WiFi was functional but slower than other places. Bedding was good. We couldn't find a hairdryer in the room.
MMyrkStyrStayed for 2 nights with wife and 8 year old son. The staff was super kind and welcoming. Our suite had amazing wraparound views of the bay. Parking spot was free and right next to our suite. WiFi was a bit spotty. Comfy bed. Walk to the beach was 10 min. Wonderful cafe in 2-3 min walk. The town was beautiful as well. Short drive north to the hot water beach was fun. I really liked this place. We made sure to clean up and do our dishes as note said extra fee if you left dirty dishes. Would highly recommend.
Ssamuel eelExtended my stay again since my work delayed. But was also due to it being a plesant stay here !!
The owner of this place was very friendly. was a plesant stay here. Theres peace and quite here at night, maybe part of the keri keri specialty.
Enjoyed my stay here with the pool and laundry service provided (chargeable) but convenient to still have.
Room was impressive and spacious with good equipment provided and items needed.
Bed was really comfy as well.... will surely be back again !!!

RRUIThe scenery is good, there are more bugs in the room. The facilities are also basically close to the limit of needing renovation. However, it is very good to have such an supporting facility in the big countryside. The young lady at the front desk is also very good. In addition, if you want to use an outdoor heated swimming pool, it is best not to live in a single building. The area where the single house is located is too far to the pool, to drive around from outside.
GGuest UserThis is on the way there. When we arrived we meet friendly staff and a nice clean setting, the room was spacious and a fabulous view of the marina, not to forget the tutukaka Twilight market with great atmosphere and sounds. It was a Hot day so unfortunately when we got back to our room that also was very hot and there was no air conditioning we did have great stacker windows and a fan in the ceiling but it was no match for the warmth we had that day. So going to the premises outdoor swimming pool seems like the logical thing to do upon arriving we found a great pool salt water chlorine and a beautiful Pahutakawa just waiting to burst into flower. Couldn’t put to put much wrong with this place I would guarantee it to friends thanks guys, great stay
