A very satisfying stay. As I was worried about the quality of the B&B in Giethoorn, I booked a B&B in Meppel. The hotel is new, the room is big and comfortable, the front desk is friendly and there is a welcome drink. It’s a 10-minute walk to the town. Meppel is a historic town with unique restaurants. For us, it was like we accidentally discovered a treasure trove of attractions. Breakfast is a bit simple, you can add some vegetables and fruits.

Located in the center of the small city of ASSEN, it is close to the train station, and it is convenient to enter and exit; because it is late, it does not feel the excitement of this city center. The front desk is in the corner of the restaurant downstairs, saying that it is because of the renovation; when the elevator is upstairs, the elevator is a manual file, you must always let go to your floor. The room was short and crowded, but the decoration was a bit special; there was a wall-mounted air conditioner that was always on, blowing out a bit of sour cold wind, I pulled it out; but the floor heating facilities in the bathroom were still warm.

Bij het inchecken gevraagd of een glutenvrij ontbijt mogelijk is, waarop een positief antwoord werd gegeven. S ochtend bij ontbijt nogmaals aangegeven en er zou voor gezorgd worden. Na 10 minuten wachten nog geen ontbijt. Er zou intern een communicatie stoornis zijn . 5 minuten laten nog steeds geen ontbijt, kok geeft aan dat hij het net pas doorgelaten had. Andere medewerkster gaf ook aan dat er sprake was van een communicatie stoornis. Het niet doorgeven is geen communicatie stoornis, maar falende dienstverlening! Blijkt het uiteindelijk geleverde ontbijt ook nog eens niet glutenvrij te zijn, waardoor de rest van de dag hevige buikpijnen!

The hotel was very friendly and attentive and the cold-stay bathroom radiator was quickly remedied.
If you want to have breakfast earlier than the standard starting time of 7:30, you can make a breakfast package or they can make what is going on.
A little bit of the facilities is due to maintenance of the CV installation (in the middle of winter?) which was a little noisy over the day.
Good lunch and dinner card with enough choice.
Currently (feb.2026) 2 working EV car loaders, but 2 additional loaders are being worked on.

Nice cooling found with the heat, the air conditioning in the room is very strong and the rest of the building is also well cool, breakfast was also super extensive and sufficient play opportunities for the little! Reception staff receiving was cold, but other staff laughed and swallowed friendly to our son so on one person I would not assess the service.

Despite the renovated rooms and restaurant, a pretty old hotel.
The overall impression is reasonable, it was found that it was all quite dated and poorly maintained.
Stocks in cottages and doors and an old-balled tape on the stairs.
A little atmosphere in the voyeur.
We were not very welcome at arrival, we were printed in our hands or we wanted to fill in it.
Had the legitimacy already in the attack but this was not necessary because” I believe it”, the receptionist said
It was a legitimate question in itself, but it was more the nonchalant way the receptionist passed.
Not very representative and hospitality.
Breakfast was good, basic but enough further.
I've been away for a reasonable price for a fun weekend.
You're going to get more luxury and the feeling of coming home, you're at the best address at Conculega Van der Valk.

GGuest UserVery friendly staff, a nice Turkish bathroom and sauna and a fine swimming pool. Family room spacious, separated by glass door making it feel like two rooms (in connection) both parts have their own toilet, one of which in the bathroom and one separate.
