I've always been a big fan of Dormy Inn, and this was my first time trying their premium series. Beyond the all-tatami flooring throughout the building and the cypress *onsen* bath directly in the room, it wasn't vastly different from a standard Dormy Inn. In fact, the room was quite small. I actually quite liked the minimal room service – they only needed to provide fresh towels. After all, once my luggage was open, there was barely any room to stand.
The hotel is a bit far from Toyama Station. While this isn't a major issue for those driving, there aren't many dining options nearby, so you'll still need to head to the station area for food. The Glass Art Museum, on the other hand, is very close and definitely worth a visit, especially since the tickets are super affordable. And the breakfast, as usual, was absolutely superb!
The hotel service was excellent. We easily obtained free tram passes from the front desk, which were very convenient for getting around. They also offer bicycles for guests to borrow. The only minor drawback is that the facilities are a bit dated. However, everything else was great, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming.
This hotel is an excellent choice for a trip to Toyama. It's located on the 5th floor and above of a shopping mall right next to Toyama Station. You can just go downstairs and you're right at the station, which makes transportation and dining incredibly convenient. In terms of transport, since there isn't a huge amount to explore within Toyama city itself, and most attractions are within walking distance of the station (even Iwasehama is reached by train from Toyama Station), staying near the station is a significant plus if you're using Toyama as a base to visit places like Takaoka, Amaharashi, or Himi. For dining, you can find local Toyama specialty restaurants right at the station, and they generally have good reviews. Therefore, just the location alone makes this hotel highly recommendable.
As for the facilities, the hotel has everything you'd expect, and the rooms are well-maintained. The public bath is decent, and the breakfast is quite good. Not only is the all-you-can-eat sushi (which is a main selling point) of good quality, but the other dishes are also noteworthy. I was very satisfied with the meal.
Overall, if you're using Toyama as a base for a two-day trip to explore the surrounding areas, this hotel is a superb option.
I stayed for 4 nights in Toyama, and overall, this hotel had the largest room and offered the best value for money. It's just a 3-4 minute walk from Toyama Station, and you can see the hotel as soon as you exit. The room was very spacious for our family of three, and it even came with capsule coffee and snacks. The mini-bar drinks were also replenished daily. There's a large supermarket directly across from the hotel (mostly cosmetics/pharmacy items). Several restaurants recommended by Google Maps were also within walking distance, which was incredibly convenient. Breakfast was decent but didn't vary much over the days. All in all, it's a really excellent hotel, highly recommended.
I've stayed here twice now.
It's cheap, but it's clean! (The bathroom floor is a *tiny* bit concerning, but everything else is spotless).
I love the hallway from the elevator to the room, it looks like a water surface, super cute! You can log in to YouTube and watch, and Netflix too! Amazing! It's about a 15-minute walk to the station, which isn't an issue for me.
I'd like to try the breakfast someday.
1. Took the free shuttle from the airport to Toyama Station, then the electric train from Toyama Station to Unazuki. Once there, you can either walk to the hotel, it's not too far, or ask the hotel to pick you up.
2. The hot spring bath isn't huge, but it's decent. They also have private baths available for an additional fee.
3. The dinner buffet was very crowded with a wide variety of dishes. Many of the staff weren't Japanese, making it feel very international. Breakfast was just so-so. You can also take the scenic train nearby.
The room was larger than typical Japanese hotel rooms, and the front desk service was excellent. You can ask the front desk for free tickets for specific bus lines for the day. It's a bit of a shame that the parents of the children staying next door basically ignored them. The kids were constantly running up and down the hallway, and we could feel the vibrations throughout our room. We eventually notified the front desk, who then spoke to the parents, and the children finally went back into their room, but it still wasn't quiet as they kept jumping around 😓. The building is a bit old, but the restaurants around the hotel are great and extremely convenient.
The breakfast is the highlight of this hotel, but children over six are charged adult prices, there's no separate child rate. The hotel rooms are a bit small, and the toiletries are P.O.L.A., which is nice, and you can get coffee yourself. The beds in the room are also on the smaller side, but still manageable for sleeping. One thing to note is that there's no room service if you're resting in your room.
This hotel boasts a super convenient location, just a two-minute walk from Toyama Station, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere. The rooms are spacious, well soundproofed, and spotlessly clean. Although I didn't require daily housekeeping, fresh towels and amenities were thoughtfully left on the doorknob every day. Breakfast included local Toyama specialties, and there's a lounge on the second floor offering complimentary coffee and hot water. The coin laundry on the 5th floor was never busy, and the dryers were very efficient. Be sure to ask the front desk about any train tickets or passes you might need. Toyama offers an abundance of delicious food, and even if you're not planning a hike up Tateyama, exploring the city itself is highly recommended.
GGuest UserThe room was a twin, too spacious for one person, and I was able to relax. The facility itself felt a little old, perhaps because they were using the previous one, but it was clean and I had a pleasant stay. I was bothered by some hair on the floor of the women's changing room, but it was cleaned up the next morning, and I could appreciate the hard work of the staff. Thank you. The breakfast was also very varied and satisfying. It was convenient because it was all-in-one. The only thing I wanted was a beer 🍺, but I arrived at 9:30pm, which was too late. The souvenir shop was also closed, which was a bit disappointing. I think I'll bring some with me next time lol

GGuest UserBeautiful hotel (about 7 min walk to the station) and was a great Ryokan experience as the room was traditional and had a breath-taking view. Futons were sufficiently comfortable - but wished there was the whole Ryokan welcome and fanfare.
Staff was welcoming but did not speak much English though they had papers of English instructions all ready. There was a free shuttle out of the hotel at fixed timings to the nearest Shinkansen (Unazukionsen Station)
Onsen was relaxing and was supplied with good quality products for every aspect of grooming. Lots of vending machines were available, there was a souvenir shop on site though pricey. We just did not enjoy the corridors as it gave out a creepy vibe (due to it being an older establishment), hence, we did not enjoy moving around the hotel). Facilities were beautiful and well preserved.
Food as part of the experience was a good and large helping. We opted for the full seafood experience but it had a lot of sashimi or cured seafood which was not to our own liking (we did not really know what we signed up for, really our fault!) Breakfast was a good spread and really hearty. A lot of traditional and local specialties to experience!
Overall a great stay!
(Shops in the vicinity closes at about 5pm and open at 10am)

1109119****Due to a booking error made by the agent, my check-in experience was terrible. I spent the entire night communicating with Ctrip (the booking platform), and while it was eventually resolved, I was still disappointed that I didn't get the room I wanted. The hotel is right next to Toyama Castle, and you might get lucky and see the Tateyama Mountain Range from the side. There's a convenience store and a tram station across the street, which is generally good. However, the room itself was very basic, and the service wasn't particularly warm. Overall, the experience was just average. A small surprise was the mochi pounding and sake offering on New Year's Day morning.
Bbrucelai708Nice place with free parking. Very nice and helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast are nice with full of Japanese culture. Very comfortable hot spring.
Honestly, it’s a bit old but they keep it very clean and nice. Really happy to be here.
GGuest UserThe hotel is just 2 mins walk from Toyama station. Across it is a shopping mall. Very convenient!
Hotel has free bike to rent, easy to cycle around the place. Hotel breakfast is really good, an infusion of japanese with other cultures. And most affordable.
Room amenities are basic but sufficient.
The only thing I don't like is the bed. Gives me backache. There is only one thin pillow.
Otherwise all good.

TTianzeAwesome hotel, I didn’t see a high rating when I booked Ctrip. I have been hesitating to make a reservation. However, the B&B in Baichuan Township is a wooden house structure that is too old. I chose this hotel. The hot springs are superb and the rooms are clean and looks like It didn't take long for the decoration, everything was very new, and I will definitely visit again in Shirakawa Township next time.
