Thank you for choosing our TRYP by Wyndham Wellington Tory Street hotel. Qualmark 4 star location.
"We enjoyed our stay here at Tryp. The staff were friendly the room was clean and we had everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Wellington."
GGuest UserThe staff were very friendly, welcoming & very efficient. They took the time to go out of their way to make us comfortable.
The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!
AAnonymous UserThe room was incredibly spacious and the bed was comfortable, not too soft. I loved the beautiful paintings in the lobby, and the front desk service was excellent. They were very thoughtful and helpful, even writing a note for me.
GGuest UserClose to the ferry. Plenty of parking spots available, no need to book in advance, just ask the front desk at check-in. There was hair on the bed...
GGuest UserThe location is quite convenient, there are many restaurants around the building, especially many Chinese restaurants. The transportation is also quite convenient, the overall environment is quite clean, and the facilities are quite complete.
CConstance_HuoLocation-wise, it's right by Wellington train station, making it a great choice if you're arriving by train or heading to London.
Facilities: They're quite old. The air conditioning was one of those large, vintage units I'd never seen before, and it was incredibly noisy, so I just turned it off. The room had a microwave and cutlery, and surprisingly, a mini-bar – which you usually don't find in hotels at this price point. However, there was a snag: no price list for the mini-bar. While I knew the bottled water in the fridge wouldn't be free, I was still surprised to be charged $7 upon checkout (when a similar bottle is around $2.50 at the supermarket).
Service: The downstairs restaurant has long operating hours. I was able to order a delicious burger after a late check-in, and grab a coffee and a pastry to go during an early checkout. Most of my positive impression comes from that restaurant.
MMarcel MeulmanIn the heart of the downtown city close to the action if you like to go out in the evening. We missed the airco as it was warm on our room. We had nice view on the church next to the hotel
GGuest UserThe room had multiple areas of built up dust that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and the shower had some mould in the corner and lots of soap scum around the bottles. The silicone holes in the shower head were all cracked and so the water dribbled down. I could also smell the drain. The additional windows installed (appreciate the building is historical) didn’t shut tight, which is a big problem in a windy city. The wind was howling through the window gaps when they were fully shut. Assume they were done as cheaply as possible. I was also a few doors down from the staff room, so I heard very frequent door slamming in the mornings which woke me up as it shook my door frame. There’s no way I’d be paying for full price for this hotel, but for a 50% off deal it was fine. The location is unbeatable and the bed was really comfortable. The room was a good size too.
HHoward RickmanRoom 2209. Top floor King. TV has 4 Sky Channels with audio. Other channels have no audio. TV problems seem common as another guest was also complaining. Another customer had problems with the key card not allowing her to use the lift. Rooms are old and tired. It doesn't have a hotel vibe. It is more like student accomodation vibe. The extractor in the bathroom didn't work. The coffee machine is a nice addition. 2 capsules and small box of milk. Microwave was welcome, but it would appear some guests have been charged $1500 due to using it and setting off a fire alarm. It's time that the whole hotel had a refurbishmeb
GGuest UserGreat spacious room, perfect for families. The bathtub was an added bonus I love that you can get Netflix and Disney Great breakfast lots of variety. Only disappointment was that the pool and spa are no longer an option being an extra plus on a rainy day with the kids but overall didn't diminish a positive experience.
GGuest UserNice big clean room in a great location. Onsite restaurant and bar is a plus. The property is quite dated but is in the process of a major renovation. We still enjoyed our stay and the property was great value for money.
