"Overall, it was a nice stay. Breakfast is included for all guests and starts very early, around 4 or 4:30 am, which is really convenient for an airport hotel. The room was fine and I had no major issues. The only thing that bothered me was the airport shuttle. Guests have to pay £4 each way for a journey that only takes about five minutes, which was a bit surprising. This is the first time I’ve stayed at an airport hotel where I had to pay separately for the hotel shuttle."

"Right next to Southend beach and good links to shopping centre and shops. The phone in the hotel room 308 didn’t work at alll so had to go down a lot to request service. Also they gave me a spare duvet which I requested to reception but got it 12 hours later from housekeeping.  The air conditioning and heater in ro9m was very good and comfy king size beds too with a good fridge. Overall me and my wife were happy with the hotel and would stay here again. I ordered food from uber eats app and they dropped off at reception area. Also booking a cab fwas quick and only 5 mins from Southend central station or 9 mins walk froom station to the hotel."

"The whole stay was really relaxing, the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable with a really nice power shower, the breakfast was really good accept for the microwave scrambled eggs, it didn’t take long to scramble real eggs. It was also the ideal spot for visiting family and friends in the area."

"I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Colchester and overall had a positive experience. The hotel was very clean throughout and the reception staff provided excellent service, they were friendly, efficient and welcoming.  However, the jacuzzi was not operational during my stay, which was disappointing as it was one of the facilities I was looking forward to using.  Despite this, the cleanliness and quality of service made the stay comfortable. "

"What I love about this hotel is the conveniece to Southend airport, only few mins walk. It’s basic but clean and tidy, also it provides soft bed and pillows to guarantee you of a goodnight sleep. Coffee is available at the reception area if you need to check out too early for your flight. Great experience and would definitely stay again whenever I have another flight from SEN."

"Very surprised by this hotel as my partner had stayed here a few years back and wasn’ti pressed… but this time, from start to finish, a really pleasant stay. Lady on reception (early evening of 10th April) was an absolute delight. So helpful and so friendly. We had two dogs with us and she told us all the areas the dogs could go and that they could even have breakfast with us if we sat in a certain place. It’s not often you get treated like that when you have dogs… more so seen as a hindrance. The room was very clean and bright. Pillows a bit hard but that’s down to preference. Shower was great, very powerful with shampoo, conditioner and show gel complimentary! Breakfast was fantastic. A lot of choice and good quality. All in all, a great stay."

"Booked a night to make travel stress-free and it didn’t disappoint. The room was spacious and quiet, the bed very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Aircon worked well without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent — wide selection and, in my opinion, better than what’s available inside the terminal. Perfect for early flights; I’ll definitely stay again. Highly recommended."
