"The room was nice, just a slight new renovation smell, but everything else was fine. The only thing I was unhappy with was that we had a child with us. Other hotels usually ask at check-in if breakfast is needed for the child, or if there will be an extra charge. If they don't inform you, breakfast for children is usually free. If they do inform us, we'd gladly pay the fee. However, the front desk didn't ask or inform us during check-in. When we went for breakfast, the staff, with a rather unpleasant attitude, confirmed with the front desk and made us pay for the child's meal. It really spoiled the start of our day! Other than that, I think everything else was quite good."

Hotel near Tianshui City Square,Tianshui
It may not be green mountains and clear waters, but it may also be the dim lights, slowly savoring the fireworks in the Qingwaguan Lane. This homestay is located in the courtyard of No. 4 Xinmin Lane in Tianshui Ancient City. It is close to the central square of the ancient city, with a comfortable environment and convenient transportation. The homestay is decorated mainly in log style, with exquisite woven accessories, and the room design is ingenious, with both traditional classical charm and modern comfort. Whether it is a spacious and bright twin room or a warm and romantic double room, you can feel the warmth and comfort of home. Here, you can unload all your fatigue and enjoy a quiet and comfortable life. When night falls, sit in the yard, cook wine and fry tea, and look up to see the stars, as if time has slowed down, making people forget the troubles of the world. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Fuxi Temple. The central square and Haiying Malatang are a 10-minute walk away, with convenient travel, welcome to you!

"The location is inside Tianshui Ancient City, a bit hard to find. Breakfast is a collaboration with the shop next door, only available from 8 AM, which is different from the information provided here. The room's screen mirroring works fine, but there are constant ads… The room doesn't have a key; it has a combination lock, so you don't have to worry about only having one card for two people. The front desk provides many free small items that you can use. The downsides are that if you stay on the first floor, you'll hear noise from outside, and if no one is at the front desk during check-in, you'll have to wait."

Hotel near Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring,Dunhuang
"Staying at Shazhou Glamping in Dunhuang was absolutely the best decision! It completely shattered my stereotype of desert camping being simple and tough. The camp is nestled deep within the Mingsha Mountain, right next to Crescent Lake, offering incredible privacy. There are no crowds like in a typical tourist area, and you step right out into endless sand dunes. The sunset viewing spot is absolutely superb. I stayed in a Stargazing RV, and the interior amenities were on par with a high-end hotel. It had a separate wet and dry bathroom, 24-hour hot water, air conditioning, and brand-name appliances. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and they even provided moisturizing products for the dry desert environment – the attention to detail was exceptional. We had a dedicated butler throughout our stay, providing free transfers and proactively introducing us to camp activities. Whether it was guiding us for stargazing at night or booking desert motorbikes and sandboarding, their response was incredibly prompt. In the evening, after chasing the sunset on the dunes, we joined a bonfire party. With very little light pollution once night fell, I could lie in bed and look directly through the skylight at the Milky Way, clearly seeing the trajectory of the stars with the naked eye. From UTV desert off-roading to desert swings and outdoor karaoke, it was a one-stop experience where all our dining, accommodation, and entertainment needs were taken care of effortlessly. It’s perfect for both couples on a getaway and groups traveling together. This is definitely the top-tier accommodation in Dunhuang – highly recommended!"

The hotel's architectural style combines modern elements of Han and Tang dynasties, with a main color scheme of desert and embellished with brown and brown. We have 196 guest rooms and suites, banquet halls, private rooms, and multifunctional halls (meeting rooms), as well as a fully furnished restaurant, lobby bar, and more, providing you with a diverse range of dining options. Whether it's for vacation and leisure, business meetings, or romantic weddings, the Four Points by Sheraton Dunhuang Hotel is the perfect choice for you to experience the charm of this culturally renowned city.

"As Dunhuang's first international brand hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton Dunhuang, with its high-quality facilities newly opened in 2025 and design that integrates Silk Road culture into every detail, provided an unexpectedly superior stay experience during our desert journey. The hotel's exterior blends Han and Tang elements with a desert yellow color palette. The impressive wooden雕刻 background wall in the lobby, replicating classic patterns, is stunning. The room facilities are brand new, featuring Sheraton's signature soft bedding. To combat the dry climate of Northwest China, the rooms not only come standard with a humidifier but also thoughtfully provide 8 bottles of water daily. Front desk staff Sunny provided incredibly thoughtful service from check-in to check-out, anticipating our needs and offering many conveniences. She prepared sand toys for the kids, glow sticks for the sunset party, and even arranged a late check-out for us due to our flight schedule. Our Dunhuang trip was awe-inspiring because of the Mogao Grottoes and heartwarming because of the Four Points by Sheraton. For us, having such a high-quality place to stay on a desert journey was incredibly comforting!"

"The luckiest thing about Zhagana is to book this one! The boss locals are particularly real. Before moving in, they carefully send out play guides, recommend niche hiking points, and remind the plateau of precautions, and the whole process is enthusiastic and thoughtful. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft, 24 hours hot water, and the Tibetan decoration was warm and not depressing. The location of the homestay is excellent. You can punch in the observation deck without walking far. You can see the continuous mountain and the mountains and clouds in the bed. It is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the mountains and the mountains. It cures all fatigue of the journey. It is highly recommended!"

"The hotel is new, clean, and bright, with soundproof windows. The restaurant also serves delicious food. A special shout-out to the front desk lady – she was absolutely wonderful! Smart, thoughtful, and incredibly smooth in communication, she perfectly arranged our airport transfer for an early morning flight the next day, even considering our breakfast time. The only downside was the male bellhop at the entrance. It seemed like his eyes only registered 'big spenders' as worthy of his service. My female friend and I had three large suitcases to get out of the car, and he offered no help whatsoever, even though there were no other guests at the entrance at the time. I thought maybe he hadn't seen us, but then, right after we finished moving our luggage, he immediately rushed over to tell me to move the car. Later that evening, when we went down for dinner, I saw him eagerly run to help several men in their 50s/60s, who only had a carry-on each, push their bags. Shocking! It made me wonder if this was discrimination against women! Or perhaps he thought women are generally easy-going, easy to bully, and not really 'guests' worthy of attention? The reason I'm elaborating so much is to highlight the unfairness if this bellhop and the front desk lady are earning the same salary."

My stay here far exceeded my expectations, both in terms of service and facilities. The location is excellent, especially if you're visiting Zhangye, as the colorful Danxia is a must-see, and this is the closest high-star hotel to it. What's really worth mentioning is how friendly and enthusiastic the staff were, from the front desk to the breakfast area and the concierge. When I checked out, they even gave me a souvenir, which also surpassed my expectations – a beautiful and very practical travel ceramic tea set. I'll definitely choose Wangshan Hotel again next time I'm in Zhangye. I highly recommend it to anyone driving to Zhangye!

Highly recommend this excellent five-star hotel in Lanzhou! The location is superb, right by the Yellow River. The boss was very enthusiastic. I contacted him one day in advance and waited for us at the station early the next morning. The accommodation was close to the East Gate. We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile! It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement. On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!

I brought my parents, who are in their 70s, to visit Maiji Mountain. The hostess was incredibly warm and attentive. After arriving at the North Gate 1 of the Maiji Mountain scenic area, we just made a call and she came directly to pick us up and take us to the guesthouse. The room was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. For dinner, we had mushroom stew with free-range chicken and stir-fried wild vegetables – truly delicious! 😋 The next day, she dropped us off at the entrance of the Maiji Mountain scenic spot at 7:30 AM, so we were the first ones to go in at 8:30 AM. After our visit, we saw a super long queue had already formed outside. Afterward, we took a taxi to explore Xianren Cliff and Jingtu Temple. Finally, the hostess even drove our luggage to the Line 34 bus stop to drop us off. It was a truly perfect day, so relaxed and easy. We avoided the crowds in the morning and didn't have to wait in long lines, making for a 10/10 visiting experience. Huge thanks to the hostess for the pick-up and drop-off service!

The newly renovated room was incredibly stylish. The desk and partition were integrated seamlessly, and the sink, bathtub, and toilet were all separated, providing excellent privacy. I particularly loved the washbasin's unique material – water drops created a lovely chime. A room of this size in Japan could easily be two separate units! The mini-fridge was very handy for storing food, which was a lifesaver for our early 8:45 AM slot at the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center. The outer walls were 48 bricks thick, providing great earthquake resistance and insulation. They also had all the amenities, including a smoke escape mask, razor, and bath liner. The pick-up and drop-off service was an added bonus. The 9th-floor restaurant terrace offered fantastic views. A special shout-out to Xiaodai, who arranged our airport pick-up. After booking our flights and hotel on Ctrip, I confirmed the pick-up with the hotel. On April 2nd, flying from Chengdu to Lanzhou, then Lanzhou to Dunhuang (with a stopover in Jiayuguan), our flight was delayed three times due to strong winds. Xiaodai kept in constant communication with me, even confirming again when we were pushed back and taxing in Jiayuguan. We finally arrived 4 hours late. The moment I turned on my phone after landing, I received a message from driver Mr. Wu, who picked us up smoothly and got us to the hotel. Following Xiaodai's advice, we left at 7:50 AM for the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center, making it to the 8:45 AM first show. We then successfully got tickets for our desired special grottoes and visited all the open areas of the Mogao Grottoes. On April 4th, I went to the front desk to ask about the bus to the airport and happened to find Xiaodai on duty. She told me they could arrange a drop-off. When I gave her my room number, she recognized me from our earlier pick-up arrangements. My interactions with Xiaodai showed me the hotel's excellent service, with attention to every single detail. If 10 is the highest score, I'd give them a 12. Dunhuang is a place you'll want to visit more than once or twice.

This B&B in Mingsha Mountain truly captures the romance of the desert. 🌌 I thought desert accommodations would be just okay, but I was blown away by the backyard. The expansive space felt like a secret hideaway, completely capturing all the joy I had in Dunhuang! After a day of fun at Mingsha Mountain, come back and continue your fun in the backyard. Play in the sand right at your feet. If you're bringing kids, they can spend an entire afternoon in the sand. The best part is the backyard pool! In the evening, soak in the water and watch the desert sunset. The setting sun paints the sand a golden red, and every photo you take is cinematic. 🌇 At night, it's even more stunning! In the light-pollution-free courtyard, grab a small stool and lie back to gaze at the stars. Even your breathing slows down... The room itself is a true lover of detail!!! Smart lighting, air conditioning, and curtains respond to calls. A minibar and humidifier are also included. Coming back from a tiring day, it's incredibly comfortable to lie back. When you're not rushing, spend the whole day in the backyard. Playing in the sand, swimming, picnicking, stargazing... It turns out slow living in the desert can be so enjoyable!

Overall, I'm giving this hotel five stars, but it's not for everyone. This place is for people seeking a slice of life...It promotes a slow pace and to really understand the hotels value you need to actually spend time there. Also looks really ideal of families - lots of area for kids to roam without getting into trouble. If you just want a bed to crash in while spending most of your time outside, don't stay here. Also if you want the most Instagrammable hotel around? Yes, book it. Pros: Amazing view, super peaceful. The layout feels like a camp you walk out and you're right in the common area, easy to relax. I came back late one night and heard absolutely nothing for a long time. Service is genuinely 5-star; they really care about your experience. Some previous reviews mentioned they staff attitude is bad - I confirm this is either fixed or incorrect. Maybe I don't expect people to pamper me 24/7. There are plenty of staff and if you chat to them or make a request they will 100% help. Rooms are cleaned well. Some previous reviews said the aircon was bad, but mine worked great, and hot water never ran out, temperature is easy to control. Also, people said no food delivery - wrong. I got delivery even during a sandstorm, no issues. Taxis and Didi come to the hotel fine, about 12 kuai from the center. Cons: The bathroom is extremely small. If you're over 177cm / 73kg or have a broad build, I can't recommend you stay here. I kept bumping into walls, and the shower curtain stuck to my skin mid-shower – my biggest letdown. The room gets hot, stuffy, and smelly if you turn the aircon off during summer days. I made that mistake once. I'd suggest the hotel install sensors to manage temperature or air out rooms when guests are out. Breakfast is simple – looks and tastes fine, but gets repetitive and you can't choose from a menu.
