HUMBLE HALL

For the first time in life, A hotel that I would never leave. The waiter who picked me up from the ferry terminal was wearing black Chinese overalls, carrying a white canvas bag, and holding a yellow umbrella... When we arrived at the hotel gate, the girl in white with a big smile came out to greet us... When we entered the lobby, we were immediately served with welcome tea (Picture 1). We opened our towels, wiped our hands, and drank tea while waiting to check in... Brother Huang Umbrella and a manager sent us to the room, and explained the facilities and supporting facilities in detail, and even demonstrated how to secure the room door... Then go to the coffee shop and enjoy the exquisite afternoon tea provided by the hotel. The tables and chairs in the cafe are all medieval, which appeals to my aesthetic taste... What I didn't expect is that the desserts taste better than those in professional shops outside! Also, after learning that we were here for our wedding anniversary, the hotel immediately upgraded our room for free. What a surprise. The hotel is where the famous piano master Yin Chengzong received piano enlightenment from an early age. There are only 13 rooms, and the overall decoration style is retro and high-end. I held my camera and couldn't stop taking pictures... Breakfast was also very good. Every waiter is kind and polite. If you come to Gulangyu Island, I highly recommend staying at Hongtang.

YIJU Hotel at Gulangyu Islet

Xiamen Gulangyu Island, an island with a history and culture of 100 years, has a characteristic of the architecture of the world gathered in this small island, which attracted my longing for expectations. The first time I stayed on this island, I chose the most representative Bagua Building next to the 100-year-old villa Yiju Hotel. It features Nanyang style design. The dark green corridor is full of old photos of Gulangyu Island. The displays in every corner are carefully designed by the boss. At the same time, I was deeply melted by the sound music, let my mood calm and relaxed, slowly feel the real meaning of the trip, and entered into deep thinking, as the lyrics say ”for you, I am willing to wait for my life”

Despite mosquitoes, it’s a highly recommended place from a regular traveler. The location of the place is convenient and easy to reach and the staff were super helpful, they called me in advance to help with boat tickets and directions. The rooms were clean and the service is always available. Enjoyed coming back to the hotel after long ours walking to be greeted from the staff with a big smile and asked if I needed any help. If I come back to Gulangyu I’d definitely stay here again
Gulangyu Time Suyu Seaview Seaview Homestay

The accommodation experience of this homestay is very good. There is a large balcony with a view of the sea view upstairs. It is convenient to relax and drink tea and chat, and you can also witness the night view of Xiamen Petronas Twin Towers. There is also a sea view room that is full this time, and I have not booked a sea view room. Next time I come, I will set their most beautiful sea view room, which is very clean. It is very close to Sanqiutian Wharf and attractions. The homestay is convenient for eating and playing in the most central location on the island. The ferry ticket is not expensive for 35 yuan to go back and forth.

The location is very good, just two steps from the pier, it is convenient to go to the surrounding attractions and eat. The store upgraded the room with a terrace for free, with a good view and a view of the twin buildings on Xiamen Island. The bungalows and courtyards are distinctive and quiet when there are few people. The room is not very big and the health is OK. It may be the reason for the off-season control of labor costs. At night, the shower water in the shower room could not come out of hot water for a while but did not see the service staff. It was too late and I didn't want to bother to wash it. It was only after 8 o'clock in the morning. I didn't eat breakfast. It is said that the porridge is simple with dry food. Overall okay.

I loved this hotel. It is well designed and the staff were very friendly and willing to help. They have a dedicated wechat that you can contact for help during anytime if the day. It was easy to find, not far from the ferry pier and they sent be directions a day before arriving. The hotel was also near to a beach. The breakfast was fully vegetarian and it was absolutely delicious and well presented . The room itself was a little small, and the only issue was the shower was in the middle between the basin and the toilet. However there was an issue with my first room and they upgraded me to a better room. This room was bigger and the shower was bigger and also not in the middle. The room was clean and they provide free drinks . Due to the covid outbreak in Xiamen I was due to stay here six days but only ended up staying 2 nights as I needed to leave Xiamen . The hotel was kind enough to fully refund me the 4 nights I had booked and this was a major plus on their side. On check out they gave me some water while I was waiting and it was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this hotel .
