YIJU Hotel at Gulangyu Islet

This is a fantastic B&B, right next to Bagua Tower! You can even watch the summer concerts at Bagua Tower from the balcony, which is super cool! The service is also excellent!

The only downside was that the bathroom's design felt a bit unsafe. There was a wooden window that was closed, but the gaps were just covered with tape to prevent people from seeing in. When I went out at 4 AM to watch the sunrise, I couldn't figure out how to unlock the main door, but a quick call to the front desk resolved it immediately. They even helped bring breakfast and my luggage up to the room. The hotel room's decor was very unique and great for photos, but I didn't have time to try on a cheongsam.

This is an old architectural B&B very close to Bagua Mansion. The service is good; they can pick you up from the pier, and afternoon tea can be delivered to your room. Both the balcony and the building have a vintage style, making it super picturesque for photos! 📸

You can get a great view of Bagua Building from here, and the large terrace is really comfortable. The breakfast provided is healthy, and the hotel is clean, quiet, and cozy. The staff are very helpful, assisting with luggage. I'd definitely recommend staying here again. A tip: it's best to bring light luggage when coming to the island.

The environment, service, and location are pretty good, but for a 580 yuan room rate in a 4-star hotel, it felt a bit lacking. I chose a two-bedroom suite, and the bathroom was still quite small and inconvenient to use. Overall, it was a bit worse than expected.

This hotel has a Nanyang-style architectural design with interiors reminiscent of the Republic of China era. The service is excellent, and the location is superb.
