Gateway Inn and Suites San Francisco SFO Airport Reviews

My husband and I stayed here for an overnight on our way from the East Coast to Shanghai. My husband is very sensitive to noise so we asked for a quiet room and they were very accommodating. They cleaned up a room for us that was not facing the road. It’s a very simple place but is close to the airport and easily accessible using public transportation. An Uber in the morning was only $20 but from the airport it was about 30. We missed the bus going to the airport so we had to take a Lyft. There are many good restaurants in the area, and it seemed pretty safe to walk around, although definitely not a lot of people walking around in the area. The bed was comfortable, but as were the furnishings in the room. Overall, it was a good place to stay if you’re on a budget.

Fairly good, but the room could be noisy and the windows don’t keep much light out. There isn’t a shuttle but getting to the airport with lyft is fast and they can arrange one for you if need be.

A very nice hotel with safe surroundings and a wide variety of restaurants

I don't know why the reviews on Ctrip and booking say this hotel is clean. Am I the only one who has been wronged by dirty sheets, dirty towels and toilets that don't flush? Although the service attitude of the guy at the front desk is good, and he took the initiative to send clean sheets, but the hygienic conditions are really not flattering. .

Very average, I will regret it if I stay here

The hotel is very close to the airport. It is very convenient for those who choose to stay by plane. It takes about 11-15 minutes by taxi to the airport. Two blocks away from the hotel, there are five Chinese restaurants and a lot of restaurants of other flavors, as well as several supermarkets, which are very convenient for dining and shopping! The hotel is very clean and tidy, and the staff are very friendly!

Comfortable Quiet room. Very clean, good reception. Free Wi-Fi I’ve stayed here a few times. I appreciate the covered parking as well. Could use a few more cable channels like tennis channel & INSP. Overall good hotel with friendly staff! I had a great stay!

Good value, nicely remodeled. Good furnishings, well appointed, lots of electrical outlets. Clean and comfortable. Some minor limitations: 1). The soap bars are tiny and are good for a couple of hand washes only. Should provide bigger bath bars. 2). Parking on the covered garage is limited and the spaces are small - OK for small compacts but full size SUVs, trucks and sedans will not fit. 3). Facial tissues are not provided. One issue that did not impact my stay but needs attention is that there is an infestation of ants behind the desk pn the wall.

Excellent for a quick stopover, loved Wendy's across the road. Don't make burgers like that in Australia

No free water, no dine in restaurants, no free breakfast. Good to stay if you are not bothered about these. Front door was closed when I check in. I had to enter through back door.

Third time staying here. My last two times were great but after this recent two night stay, never again. My room was not cleaned. NOT CLEANED. Nursing home smell right when you walk in and sheets smelled used and disgusting. Pillow cases had eyeliner and lipstick on them. I was too tired to go back down and complain and I left for work at 5am the next morning. When I got back to the hotel I spoke with the front desk requesting for a housekeeper to come change the sheets. The housekeeper was gone for the day and I asked for new sheets so I can change them myself. All the front desk girl kept saying was “we would have appreciated if you told us last night so we could have changed it ourselves today.” I was beyond tired the night before to go back down and complain and I left way too early the next morning bring it up. She ended up bringing me a new comforter but no new sheets because she said the housekeeper used all the materials for the day. How is it there is no spare sheets in case of situations like this? Third and last time staying here.

Free parking under the building, 5-10 min drive to the SFO Airport, comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom, fresh and clean air, no any bad smells, looks like it was recently made remodeling, fast and easy check in and out, no issues at all, I’ll be back for sure here when I’ll be in the area.

Overall great value for the price location for my needs. Free parking, friendly staff.

For the price, it was excellent. A little noisy with the airport near by. But nothing the hotel itself can do about it. After 2 nights, you won't even notice the planes taking off.
